Karmaloop LLCElf Cosmetics
Gift Guide: $10 and under

One of the great things about being a female fashionista is that you don't have to spend alot of moolah to look trendy, stylish, and just an all around "Got it together" girl. So, if you are like me and have more fashion loving chicks on your shopping list than you do scrillah, then here are a few lovely options that even I wouldn't mind seeing in my glittered and bedazzled stocking this year!

What girl doesn't love a cute necklace?! I actually bought this necklace a few weeks ago and its just lovely to throw on with a black suit. Its really cute!

You can never have enough earrings, so these charm earrings perfect. Enough said, but when they are adorned with cute little charms and are hoop; how can you say "no"?!

Stretch tees! Perfect! Perfect for layering and even more perfect, because they only cost $5!! What the hell, get two in every color! Don't forget yourself...you deserve it!

I love scaves! My favorite cold weather look is to pair a bright and/or embellished scarf with a basic coat or jacket. Anyone can "refresh" an old coat or jacket with the right scarf and this scarf from Old Navy would work wonferfully!

Make-up and beauty items are the perfect stocking stuffers and Rosebud minted lip balm has been used by damn near every celeb. The reason I tried it was because I read that Halle Berry swore by it in the winter months. Therefore, I had to have it and its tucked perfectly in my purse!

This weekend I will post a $25 and under post...hopefully!

Gotta have 'em!

Although I fawn here online and in person about some of the highest heels and wedges and I am not a big fan tennis shoes, I do love me some Converse Chuck Taylors! I own about 10 pairs that range from classic white to some cherry print ones I bought at a sample sale when I was in Los Angelos years ago. The good thing about them, is for some reason, the more beat up they look, the more stylish they look!

When I first saw these cracked Chucks, I instantly added them my Christmas list! I get to the worn out and beat up look without the years of sometimes purposeful abuse. I heart these shoes!  I want these shoe! I need these shoes! I think I am gonna wear my hot pink Chucks tommorrow, in hope that these will soon be in my minuture Chuck collection that I am gonna start! Some people collect Air Jordans, such as an ex of mine, so I am gonna collect Chuck Taylors! It's the power of a post!

Yay or Nay: McQ skirt mini dress

I am not sure what to make about this. Its a mini dress that looks like a shirt and mini skirt. I kinda like the look of it, but then I don't! I dunno. What do you think? Go check out the other views and see the styling options. The accessory pairings make me like it!

That's a good question!

While most of ya'll are using your IM to strategize with your comrades on how to wrap up the latest project for the new account that your siddity boss threw your way at the last minute or bitchin' about how you can't wait until school/work is over, me and my Yahoo chatting chicas are coming up with some of the most intellectual questions known on earth, such as:

If you were a guest on Oprah, what would you wear?

"Great question" was my instant response when my old college girlie Nicole IMed me that while she was forced to work this Friday, after Thanksgiving.

Truthfully, how many times have you tuned in to Oprah to see who was on and was slightly fashionably disappointed by the outfit choice of your fav celeb?!

To me, it depends what is the reason I am on Oprah. If it because I caught my significant other cheating and was "spritually and mentally" forced to take matters in my own hands(snip, snip), then a nice black pinstripe suit and subtle red accessories will suffice just to show people that I must not be crazy if I look that well groomed and stylish!  However, I doubt the Shelby County Correctional system would allow me to travel to Chicago!

Anyway, if I was on there to promote my fabolous new movie and/or album, which is the only reason I would want to go besides being a guest for her favorite things. When those episodes come on, me and my mom watch them together so we can hear others "oohh"s and "aahh"s.

Anyway, here is my "Oprah" outfit of choice:

This beautiful piece of lovliness is Cacharel's satin circle dress and to lovely for words. It speaks so many words about the woman who wears it, but the ones that immediately pop out to me are "stylish" and "classy". This is definitely a dress that I would not be ashamed to be seen in everyday for the rest of my life. Lovely, but what shoes would go perfectly with this dress?!

Viola! These Christian Louboutin Decollete patent leather pumps are to kill for! From a distance they look like basic black patent leather pumps, but up close is where the envy starts to boil over! Christian, yeah, he owns my foot fashion loving heart! How could such basic shape pump make me drool all over my laptop like this!

I would go with, duh, gold accessories! Soft gold and not that much, because I don't want to take away from the pretty dress and gorgeous shoes!

Well, that's my outfit of choice! If you were on "Oprah", what would you wear?

Weekend Overload: Leftovers, takeovers, and a comeback

I am sore all over! My stomach is still stuffed and I took an elbow in the arm this morning from this lady in Macy's over a pair of shoes I wasn't even looking. I love "Black Friday"! Anyway, I still have a quarter of a pumpkin pie to demolish and to takeover a Target Supercenter by this evening, so here is this week's Weekend Overload!

WEEKEND LOOK

Star Maggie thermal, $25.50, Delia's; "Traci" hobo, $14.99, Payless; Affection necklace, $14.50, Alloy.com; Special Edition Skinny Jeans, $20, Old Navy; STEVEN by Steve Madden Pango, $69.99, Piperline.com; Prague Pink Crystal watch, $32.99, Overstock.com

WEEKEND LINKS

WEEKEND MUSIC

I am not the biggest fan of rap music as I used to be, because its really went downhill in terms of sound, lyrics, and overall selections out there. Needless to say, I was kinda of giddy to here that one of my favorite rappers was coming out of "retirement" with a new album Kingdom Come. Even after hearing that semi-annoying first single "Show Me What You Got", I was still anxious about hearing the entire album. I've heard the album and must say that its not as hot as I thought. I was expecting every single song to be banging and I wouldn't have to skip any tracks, but I was wrong! The album could have done without track 9 with Usher and Pharell. It just didn't seem like the mature, focused, and business minded Jay that is reflected on the rest of the album. Also, since it had been a while since he released any new music of his own, I was expecting a gaggle of songs. In the end, its a pretty good album and fits perfectly for us hip-hop fans who have grown up and don't always want to hear songs that require you to follow some dance intructions while listening....walk it out!

Favs: Do U Wanna Ride, Hollywood, Lost Ones, and Dig A Hole

COAT OF THE DAY

This a coat that every fashionista needs in her closet. Truthfully, I don't think that shearling coats will ever go out of style. Every year I see someone wearing one and never think that its aged. I use to have one when I was a little girl and I kinda miss it now. I think that shearling coat is about to get scribbled on my Christmas list!

WEEKEND "Who Owns It"

Beyonce' and Keyshia Cole were both seen recently wearing the same jacket. I personally believe that Beyonce' own it better because she didn't have the style ignorance to wear it on the red carpet of an awards show, KEYSHIA! Beyonce wore it a couple of weeks ago while visiting her man Jay-Z on the set of his new video "Lost Ones" and Keyshia wore it on the red carpet of this year's American Music Awards held this past Tuesday. Its a hot jacket and if you know who makes it, let a sista know!

I hope everyone had a happy, blessed, and full Thanksgiving. I will see you all Monday when I will be filled with Birthday cake, because my little sister turns the big 1-5! She think she grown!

ALERT: Reader's Mail

I received an e-mail from one of my lovely readers with a very good question:

Where is a good place to find boots for women with wider calfs? LeKeisha

I've been meaning to write a post about this problem that many women, not just "extra curvy" women have! I have found that the best answer to this slight fashion delimma is plus-size companies, catalog companies to be particular, because they specialize in dressing and styling women with a little extra here and/or there!

One catalog that specializes in plus-sized clothing is Jessica London. I always see their catalog laying around at my aunt's house. While hiding out in one of the back bedrooms a coulpe of months ago at an impromptu family get together, I found myself flipping through her Jessica London catalog and saw that they offered a wide range of trendy and stylish boots with extra wide shafts. Lovely! Don't worry, they are not all those strechy boots that damn near cut off all circulation to your legs and have you occasionally sticking your finger in the shaft to give you a little relief! Yeah, I've been to that section of hell personally! Anyway, here are a couple that I eyed with my fashion infused eyes that are great:

Exta-Wide  Shaft suede and leather boots

BIJOU Tall riding boots

Leather Keyhole Boots

All these boots are sure to not only fit wider calfs, but also keep you looking just as trendy and hot as the next chick! Check out the rest of Jessica London's boot collection here.

Satellite bag?!

This is Alexis Hudson's Satellite bag in black. Why name it satellite? I haven't the faintest idea, but I like it! Its different, but not "too" different.

Quick post today, but I hope everyone has a happy and lovely Thanksgiving! I am thankful for life, the ones I love and who love me back! Gobble, Gobble! I'll be back Friday with a Weekend Overload post and a couple of bruises from fighting with soccer moms at 6am in the morning for the last blue sweater in my size at Target near Wolfchase mall! I live for "Black Friday"!

Bookmark Blowout: A fashion cornacopia of stuff!

I love bookmark blowout, because when I am having a creative slump or no time to come up with something to gush or grieve about, fashion or beauty related that is, I can clean out the fab clutter that I saved for whatever reason. All you fashion bloggers should get on board with these types of posts.

Plus, this post might pay off for you chicas who are Christmas shopping for your list of naughty and nice people or making your list of things you want your personal Santa Claus' to give to you! No need to thank me!

DSquared2 Red boots- What women doesn't want a sexy pair of boots to clap around in, but I will admit that ever time I stare at them in lust I think of pirates! I dunno!

Edun Metal Denim Cropped Jacket- I like it! That's it!

Versace Viscose dress- I was doing a freelance article of various materials and viscose was one of them, hence this Versace number was bookmarked. Not the most forgiving fabric or dress, but sleek and sexy! Gotta love it!

Mara Hoffman Pin Tuck Blouse- I love graphic prints, so I loved this top! You could pair it with a pencil black skirt and be the hottest thing in the office of throw on your favorite pair of jeans and be the hottest thing rummaging through the clearance section at Target! I really love this top! I am adding it to my X-Mas list!

Icebreg Gold fabric shoes- I use to be addicted to Iceberg fashion in high school, senior year to be exact. I hardly follow the line now, but the name and shoes brought back some lovely Iceberg jeans memories. I think Lil' Kim used to endorse them! I dunno, but these shoes are hot enough to endure the pain that any pair of 5 inch heels gives you. Yeah, you read right; 5 INCHES!

Kitson J'Adore kitson shoes - I first saw these a couple months ago and instantly thought that these were a super cute pair of sneakers that any girly girl would love to have in her closet. I actually just ordered a pair for my little sister for Christmas. The good thing is, if she doesn't like them I can wear them since we wear the same size!

Tory Burch Sammi jacket- Nothing to gush about, its just a cute jacket/coat. OOHHH, wouldn't it go hot with those DSQUARED2 boots! Ouch! Hell, I'm running a little late, so why not make this the COAT OF THE DAY, tambien!

Blame Winona!

Ever since I have added Winona @ Daddy Likey to my list of daily reads (Juicy, Angel, Nicky, Cheap Chica, Chanel, C&D, Concrete Loop, among others), I have really been embracing my love of shiny and gold things alot more. Hence, I have been drooling over this Jenny Packham Goldie Fawn dress since this past Friday around 6:43p.m.. I love it!

I would probably wear this dress to just pick up my dry cleaning from the cleaners owned by this sweet Chinese family who I can't understand a word they say but do so much justice to my shirts or to go deal with those a-holes at the post office who make me so frustrated when I am just trying to get my passport updated. Don't get me started on my weekend! Anyway, I picture this dress being paired with a pair of simple metallic gold or even silver strappy heels and a simple little clutch thats light in the "bling"! OH, the possibilities!!!!

Weekend Overload: Sports, Curves, and Soul

Another weekend is now upon us and the cold weather is making the phrase "Staying In" sound really lovely! Its even better to stay in when there are so many great games coming on. The game that I am all giddy about is the Michigan/Ohio State game tommorrow. I grew up a Michigan fan, because of my parents although I opted to go to The U of Memphis.

So, here are a couple of things to tie you over until I get Monday. GO WOLVERINES!

I was so amped to hear that Tamia was releasing another album. She is definitely one of the most underrated singers out there! While all those fools were standing in line this afternoon trying to buy Tamia's new album "Between Friends". Its such a great album, but its not long enough to me. I loved how she stayed in her element of nice and smooth ballads and none of that jumping around and shaking music that so many female artists try to do to appeal to young audiences. She's tried that before with a Jermaine Dupri track years ago and needless to say, I was not impressed. Happy she is back and happier that I bought the album! In order to appreciate this album, you have to have appreciation her style of music the amzing sound she has.

Coat of the Day/ Celeb Swag Jacking

Earlier this week Monica released her video for the second single called "Dozen Roses" off her album The Makings of Me. She is wearing this very masculine looking Fendi coat in the video. Its a nice coat, but not my style! It looked nice on her in the video. Check it out!

Damn that Barney!

I have never been a skinny chica!  I was slightly chubby(that's a borderline oxymoron), but such a cutie! Luckily, being a chica of color and going to all black schools, I never had to deal with teasing or trying to fit in some norm of "skinny is it", because dang near every girl had a little "thickness" to them. However, I still had a smidge of self-conscience lurking in my aura. It was very strong when it came to clothes and it was very apparent with color choices.

When that lovable, but sometimes "friendly" acting dinosaur named Barney hit pop culture mainstream, he made me fear being seen in purple, because I was afraid to be mistaken for fraternal female twin.  Although, one day I wore a purple Cross Colors shirt(the 90s!) to test out the water, but nothing happened. I just assumed that nobody notice, but maybe, it was my slight insecurity showing its true colors. Despite the color test, the strong group of true friends, cute boyfriends(essential for those junior high years) and the fact that I was not huge, I avoided the color purple for yyyeeaaarrrsss! All the way up to my sophmore year of college! Thankfully, my attitude toward myself has changed dramatically! I feel great about myself, inside and out, and own a nice big crop of purple tops and dress AND I am bigger now than I was in junior high, obviously since its been over 10 years! Therefore, its a big step for my junior high self to my now 25 year old self to be eyeing and dying for something so lovely and so purple as this:

Say "hello" to this PURPLE Chloe empire-waist dress. Cute and classic and versatile. It can be pair with a pair of tights and some platform pumps or a simple pair of tall black boots. You legging loving chicks are probably invisioning this with your fav pair of tights that are resting comfortable in your sock drawer. I love this dress! I want this dress!

Yes, 14 year old Samida would be so shocked, but oh so proud!

Philosophical Perfection

Someone once asked me what constitutes the perfect purse? What does the perfect purse look like? Is it big enough to hold all the stuff I steal from the office on a daily basis or is it so small it can only hold lip gloss, a $20 bill, and the thinnest cell phone? You know, the neccesities for any given Saturaday night! Is it black, brown, or white? Will it break my wallet in thirty different places or is it cheap enough where I can buy it in all the colors alotted? I wish I knew the answer! Perfection and beauty fall into the same zany philosophical answer: It's in the eye of the beholder!

My perfect bag does not have a certain color. I don't descriminate. My perfect bag is big! Not big like a duffle bag, but I do wish I could pull that off! It would be prince range would be between $100-$500. Over the years or "collecting" purses I have learned to understand the pricing of bags. Out of a $1000 bag, $400 of that equals the material, $100 equals out the manufacturing and the other $500 goes to the name alone. A leather purse priced at $300 is right up my alley.

So what does my perfect bag look like, well wonder no more:

This Cole Haan is a perfect bag to me, for today at least! The shape is semi-simple except for the handle. The soft details of metal clips on the side. You can drag this bag to the office and probably stuff it with your stapler, three boxes of post-its, and your co-workers junk food stash. You know, all the things you've been eyeing since you got there. The best thing about this bag is that you don't see a logo or name in sight ON the bag. I love my designer bags, but sometimes its nice to be able to carry around a designer bag without having the designer's name or logo sprayed all over it(I don't mean you, Louis! I plan to be buried with you! XOXO)  You can also use this bag for a night out on the town, because it can hold all the numbers you are bound to get once the guys see you strut in with this classy bag. Plus, steal that shot glass you have been eyeing at your favorite drinking hole du jour!

Yeah, perfect bag my foot! Tommorrow when I'm vitually walking through Neiman Marcus, I will find another "perfect" bag in mind. Therefore, ignore everything you just read. This post never happened, 'kay!

Speaking of perfect, here is my favorite philosophical riddle that I has no definite answer: "If practice makes perfect and there is no such thing as perfect, why practice?" Feel free to throw that around at your next function and watch people get real quite in thought!

Loyalty over Beauty?

I could probably live to the sexy and exciting age of 126 and still not have the opportunity to test out every mascara out there...to THIS date! It seems like every make-up line has at least 5 different types of mascaras in each line they offer. Multiply that by the number of companies there are and then divide...okay, my heading is starting to be clouded by numbers. If I had these types of mathematical problems while I was serving my 5 year bid at The University of Memphis then maybe I would have been a lot happier while rushing to math class.

Anyway, I am a loyal chica, especially when it comes to make-up. If a product has my beauty "back", then I will scrimp and save to make sure that I always have it in stock. However, I do get an itch to try something new every now and then, especially when I am prancing around the make-up aisle of my favorite drugstore, Walgreens.

While blowing time while waiting for my prints to develop yesterday, I helpless wondered into the make-up aisle and started to look through the volumous rows of mascaras. So, I did an "inney, minney, miny, moe" and grabbed Max Factor's Stretch and Separate in Rich Black. I was a little apprehensive, because I hate to see the face of my loyal macs Maybelline(everyday use) and Dior Show(special occasions) when I put a "foreign" mascara next to them.

Today, I opted to start Max Factor in the make-up regimen line up and bench Maybelline. Despite the heartbreak of not cracking open May, I was more than pleased with the results. This mascara did exactly what the package said, "stretch and separate". Not a clumped lash in sight and my favorite, very natural! It made my lashes look naturally long and individually separated. Love it! I give Max Factor's Stretch and Separate 4/5 stars and a wink. I highly recommend this mascara, especially as a everyday product.

Its getting cold here in Memphis, so these sweaters are right up my alley! So, here are some sweaters that I had bookmarked.

JLo Collared Cardigan- I thought that was a cute liitle sweater to have, but now they only have it in white or navy. However, it is on sale for $39.99!

3.1 Phillip Lim Cashmere Argyle Cardigan- Super cute AND its cashmere! Duh, why wouldn't I love it?!

JLo Turtleneck with Self Belt- It looks super comfy and oh so fabulouso! Love it!

T-Tahari Belted Shawl Sweater- Shawl, check; belted, check; bell-sleeves, check! Enough for me!

Calvin Klien Dolman Sleeves Cowl-Neck Sweater- I first saw this online and loved it, but decided not to buy it. I saw it a couple of days later in the Macy's down the street from me and snatched it up with a quickness. Love to pair it with my fav pair of black/blue jeans.

Crown Me, Baby!

There is nothing like making you believe that you should embrace your inner queendom more often then having to scrub a tub at midnight because your dog decided that it was a great place and time to get sick. Yeah, Scooby might be looking for a new doghouse to run! Since my tiara is still on backorder from Buckinghan Palace, I had to search for other alternatives to help me achieve my inner royality.

Crown Pocket Gold Wash Jeans, $79, Baby Phat; Crown Ring, $9.99, GirlProps.com; Wool Crown Cadet Cap, $18, Torrid; Princess Crown Belt, $40, Baby Phat; Crown Wrap Watch, $450, Juicy Couture; Crown Necklace, $30, Baby Phat; "Olivia" Tall Suede Crown boot, $249, Hale Bob; Victoria Beckham Anthrax/Gold Crown jeans, $290, Rock & Republic; Crown Slit Neck tee, $49, Baby Phat; Crown tank, $19.50, Alloy; "Courtney" Crown Slide, $37.99, Hale Bob; Crown Tee, $19.99, Lane Bryant

Well, I am off, because I have already started my Christmas shopping and according to the wonderful world of online tracking I have some knocks to listen for. One from UPS (crossing fingers for the hot UPS guy) and one from the mailman. We, as in everyone in my apartment complex, have one of the worst mailmen. He leaves packages on top of the mailboxes for anyone to take if you are not home. If you are home and he comes to your door, he is usually smoking like an old Chevy with a cigarette in his mouth and one in clear sight sticking out of his shirt pocket for quick access. Don't let me get started on the number of mail we get that belongs to one of my neighbors. Let me stop before this becomes a rant!

Clueless.

Why would anyone pay over $20, let alone $745 for these god awful shoes! You could follow a local stripper to her favorite place to shop for her stage clothes and probably get the same looking boot for 90% less than this crap. I bet you could also get them in a rainbow of colors. Ridiculous!! Situations like these make me question my daily worship of monitor shopping in between breaks!

Red Satin

I am all about the red satin this season! Its one of the must have fabrics to have and I am not ashamed to say that I am behind. Hold the feathered phone, I do own a red satin dress, but I couldn't fit a boob in it since the last I wore it was in December 1997 at a sophmore dance in high school. Yeah, its time for a upgrade! Weekend Overload:TGIF!!

I plan to have a wonderful weekend full of nothing but me propped up in my bed watching TV and catching up on all the crap I asked my DVR to record for me over the past couple of weeks. So, here's to Diet Coke and Lifetime movies!

WEEKEND LOOK

Tulle Green Hoodie Sweater, $58, Plastic Clothing; Jessica Simpson "Dawson" satchel, $248, Nordstrom; REPORT "Sway" boot, $349.95, Nordstrom; Halogen Utilitarian Denim Skirt, $44.90, Nordstrom

**I love that hoodie sweater and the price is nice!

Weekend Lovin' Links

Weekend Music

Recently, Monica released her fourth album calledThe Makings of Me. Unfortunately, it didn't debut that high on the charts despite strong marketing. One reason is because basically the whole album consisted of songs that had been leaked a gaggle of months before. Despite that, the album is classic Monica; hood beats and lyrics delivered in with her gorgeous and melodic voice. I am a Monica fan for life despite those huge tattoos! 3/4 stars in my book

Check out the video for the first single "Everytime the beat drops" that features the initial necklace that damn near every urban fashionista was searching for, including yours truly!

Coat of the Day

Yes, ANOTHER white trench coat, but its my current fashion fetish! This one is by Norma Kamali for Everlast. There is really nothing for me to say about it! Just look at it and learn to love it! If you are sick of white, then don't fret my pets! Its available in black, tambien!

Spot me!

If you are like me and feel that the leopard prints everywhere are nice, but are frustrated because you feel like you can't deal with the completely leopard print coats, dresses, and skirts. Maybe, you want to take baby steps to approaching this look. Well, an easy way to take out your fashion frustration is through accessories! That is what I am doing! Yesterday, I bought a pair of leopard print pumps and now I am on the hunt for other leopard print accessories. Here some candidates:

These are the pair of Guess leopard print shoes I bought yesterday. I temporarily felt like a leopard and attempted to leap in them while trying them out at home. Needless to say, I quickly found myself accidentally making out with the area rug in the dining room. I've learned my lesson!

Guess Hot Spot watch- It's really "blingy", but I think its hot!

Wet Seal leopard print headband- Perfect way to test out the print.

Wet Seal Leopard print waist belt- Not overbearing! Nice!

Alfani "Lucille" shades- Not really my type, but they are a step.

Betseyville by Betsey Johnson "Madame Betsey" tote- I don't know why, but I am actually feeling this bag slightly. Maybe all this cold medicine I'm sauced with is messing with my fashion taste buds as well as my food taste bugs. I dunno!

Bookmark Blowout: Boots & Bags

No explanation needed, bring on the stuff!

I thought these Cynthia Vincent boots were really cute with the leather strap bows around the ankles. Adorable!

Max Studio "Remington" boots- I think that these boots are a lovely addition to any fashionista's boot collection. If worn with pants, it appears that you are wearing a pair of fab high heeled oxfords, but otherwise are some lovely boots! I am seriously considering getting these. Let me stop!

Emilio Pucci Festa print hobo- Its a really cute bag. My old roomate bought  this bag and its really lovely in person. I don't think I could pull it off, but I would love to have it!

Juicy Couture Army leather tote- I love Juicy Couture bags and accessories, so its no wonder that I loved this bag. However, I will admit that I am over the pompoms. Still, I love this bag!

Cleaning out the fab clutter

Its about that time, more saved items that are expiring in my love book!

Theory Lalo Top- I actually bought this top, but it didn't look that hot on me or fit that well. Therefore, I sold it to my cousin. Its lovely on her, though!

Bare Escentuals Foiling Glimmers- For the past couple of months, I have been feeling the bronzey, foil looking eye shadows, so I was amped to try this. They are wet/dry shadows; dry for light effects and wet for "foil look". I only used the wet look with the bronze color and dry on the other two. They are nice, but I got the same effect from my E.L.F compact with the same colors and for only a buck!

DKNY Leather Zipper Gusset Hobo- I think that this is the perfect "everday bag". I want this bag!

L.A.M.B teal wraps sweater- I thought that this sweater was soooo cute! I e-mailed it to my former roomate a while back, because she was looking for perfect cardigans. Guess what she had on this past Monday when she came over?! Yep, this sweater that I had my eyes on. I still love this sweater!

Catherine Maladrino Bubble Blouse- It's Catherine Maladrino...enough said!

Trend Watch: Print Thermals

I have been seeing printed thermals in all my daily window shopping sites and have decided that I am following suit. They are perfect for those chilly nights when you want to be slightly warmer and cute at the same time! Here a couple that I am loving, especially the Alloy ones, because they affordable and go all the way up to 3X so this is a trend almost anyone can participate in!

Waffle Tunic Tee, $24.50-26.50, Alloy; Heathered Waffle Crewneck, $24.50-26.50, Alloy; Primp Frog Crew Thermal, $80, BlueBee; Trunk Stones Thermal, $108, BlueBee

Weekend Overload: Cocktails, links, and a nightcap

Yes, its that time of week when I pack up my things and leave a nice and lengthy post to hold you off until Monday. So, here we go!

Weekend Look

This weekend I have to go to a cocktail party that a former client of mine is throwing for his employees and was lucky enough to get an invite. I plan on wearing a pretty navy blue dress, not the one below, and some silver accessories. I usually follow the yellow brick road when it comes to accesorizing, but I decided to break anyway from my fashion norm; for one night least! Anyway, if I could, I would have loved to been able to wear the dress below.

Tiered Lace Dress, TopShop;  Chinese Laundry "Wesley"sandal, $59, Macy's; La Regale beaded clutch, $89, Macy's(I own these in gold and just bought the silver ones!); Diamond Studded earrings, cubic would do, too!

Link Loving

  • If you could only buy one dress for the rest of your life, what would it look like? Well, check out this pick. I likey! Daddy Likey
  • Looking for the perfect black cocktail dress? See what Chanel has found! Lovely! Hip Candy
  • If you want to know how to wear red lips, but are afraid, then don't be and read why and how! Bon Bons in the Bath
  • Glimmer! Shimmer! Glimmer? Shimmer? The Make Up Girl
  • Celebs rushing the runways' looks. Juicy News
  • Some of the funniest commercials ever!!! "He think he too cute!" Juiicy Scoop

Weekend Music

For the past couple of weeks, only one man has been tucking me in at night and that is Robin Thicke. The album The Evolution of Robin Thicke is definitely one of the best albums to come in this year. What I like about the album is the consistency of the music. A musical pet peeve of mine is when an album jumps styles, like going to from a dance track to a laid back track and right back to jump track. You will not find this with this album. Its an album full of some of the sexiest music and lyrics from one of the sexiest men, in my mind! This album is a keeper, so get it!

COAT OF THE DAY

I am really feeling these dress looking coats and this one from TopShop is too cute to ignore! Bows at the waist and on the pockets?! Love it!

OMG, the things you miss!!!

Its had been a quick minute since I the chance to pay my monthly visit to The House of Dereon to do a little civilian fashion policing. Imagine my shock when I notice that Bee & Co. have displayed some new shoes and BOOTS! Imagine a bigger surprise I had when I found myself bookmarking some. Therefore, I said "What da hell, I might as well pick and post my favs! Although this will be my 458th post off the day!" So, for your fashion viewing pleasure:

Samantha

Verlelli

Ruby

Reese

The House of Dereon is definitely getting it together in the accessory and they also put a couple of new pieces of clothing out there, too!

Seasonal Fabric: Velvet

Ever since I was a little girl, every Christmas, my mom would dress me up in a velvet dress, usually red, that was trimmed with enough lace to run Frederick's of Hollywood out of business. Thanks to those "fond" memories, to this day, I buy something velvet every winter. I buy something velvet, but I can never bear to wear it out of the knowing that I would be the only adult among a group of velvet-ed out chillins! This year, however, I have a feeling that I will be rocking something in velvet and proudly! All the big designers and stores have thrown out so many velvet pieces that I swear I saw the face of the velveteen rabbit accidentally sewn on a jacket in Old Navy today. Poor bunny!

Here are some velvet pieces that are prime contenders for any closet.

Velvet Jacket

Ambition Velvet Jacket

ECI Burnout Velvet Dress

Roberto Cavalli Velveteen Pant

Tommy Hilfiger Velveteen Knickers (CUTE!)

COAT OF THE DAY

I bought this cropped trench coat last night at Old Navy on a wonderful whim. Its not the thickest coat in the world, but at times I would rather be looking fab than feeling warm. It's my preference! Plus, this coat looks great!

The perfect boot

This Studio Pollini Foldover boot can be classified as the perfect boot, because of the versatility and the shape and design. Its classic enough to carry you all the way to the grave and back. Its a fashion investment piece. These boots will last and keep you style stepping the whole way. I remember once reading that when it comes to boots, its best to spend money on a classic looking pair, instead of constant dropping $20-50 here and there. I believe that like I believe in God!
