Fab TV...Lipstick Jungle

I know that a lot of you are missing some of your fashion infused shows in part to the writer's strike, but there have been some fashion forward shows making their way to a set near you. One show that is about to hit is Lipstick Jungle on NBC. I first heard about it this weekend while gettting a healthy dose of MSNBC. All I needed to see was a bunch of successful and trendy working women and hear from the writer of "Sex in the City" to instantly search for it on my DVR and set it to record.

I love the new breed of shows that show fashion and career minded women and Lipstick Jungle seems to be one of those shows! It follows three high-powered women running and running in New York City.

Based on the best-selling book by Candace Bushnell ("Sex and the City"), this sexy new drama follows three high-powered friends as they weather the ups and downs of lives lived at the top of their game.

Movie exec Wendy (Brooke Shields) does everything she can to balance career and family. Nico (Kim Raver), editor-in-chief of a hot fashion magazine, has her eye on becoming CEO. And free-spirited designer Victory (Lindsay Price), longs to make her dreams come true, and maybe find "Mr. Right" along the way.

Armed with humor and strength, these three modern New York women support one another through the triumphs and tears that are all part of making it big in the Big Apple. Also starring are Andrew McCarthy, Julian Sands, David Alan Basche, David Norona, Paul Blackthorne, and Robert Buckley.

Check out the video below for a hint of what to expect!

One of the great things about the show is how fashionably interactive its going to be, because after watching the show you will be able to go online and see what was worn by the actors. Love that! Hopefully this show will feed my TV need!

WHO OWNS IT?...Diane von Furstenberg Dress

Back in December 2007, Gossip Girl's Blake Lively was seen wearing this Diane von Furstenberg Embellished dress to a GAP promotion, while actress Gina Rivera was seen wearing the same dress (or good knockoff, depending on lights) last night to the premiere of the Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins. So...who owns it?

Such "Lush" hands!

Although its warm and stormy here in Memphis, its been super cold and its been taking it toll on my skin, especially my hands. So, today while I was ducking the thunderstorms and making a dent in some of the gift cards I accumalated over the holidays, I stopped at the Lush counter in Macy's and discovered two products that have my hands soft, supple, and softly scented.

The first product that the cheery, informative, and very sweet sales girl applied to my hands was Ocean Salt Cleanser. I have used and abused Ocean Salt in the past with all its super soft scrubing self, but this was the first time that I used it in conjunction with another product. If you haven't had the chance to try Ocean Salt, you should, because it is a incredible scrub that is great to use all over. Its great this time of year, because of all that dead skin that makes it presence known in the winter. It leaves your skin exceptionally smooth.

Before I washed the Ocean Salt off my hands, I applied a small, but decent amount of one of my fav hand and cuticle creams, Lemony Flutter. For future pop quiz, I just love anything with the scent of lemons. Mi madre claims that is because she loved eating anything lemon flavored when she was knocked up with me! Fun fact, huh?! Anyway, back to helping you obtain some lush paws. So, I gently rubbed the Lemony Flutter on my hands with the Ocean Salt already slattered on them. After the soft-core rubbing, I rinsed off the multi-scented concoction and I felt nothing, but soft hands even before the Ocean Salt based mixtured was fully rinsed off my hands! "WOW", was all I could constantly say as I continously basked in my new found soft skin! It felt like my hands just received an intense moisturizing massage.

Although I was more than thrilled with the results and ready to grab a container of each product, the sales girl wouldn't let me leave without first topping the experience with Lush's Helping Hands lotion. A wonderful lotion filled with a clean scent and a enough moisture to make me a throw one in with the Ocean Salt and the Lemony Flutter containers. In less than a five minute walk-through, I have found my new winter skin regimen and not jsut my hands. All in a day of a Lush!

Fab Promo...Erykah Badu "New Amerykah"

I adore Erykah Badu, ever since her first album back in 1996. She almost everyone trying to wrap their head up in gorgous fabrics. Don't get it twisted, she has had more than a few questionable looks over the years, but there are the times that she visually blows you away. Case in point, these two pics her PR peeps sent. The album cover is incredible! Dopeness.

Currently, I am jamming to daily to her new single "Honey", everytime it comes on XM radio.

Check her out discussing some of the challenges she faced recording this album.

Check out her MySpace page or her official website.

NEW AMERYKAH comes out February 26th.

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer Collection 2008

A couple of weeks ago, I gave you all a gander at Louis Vuitton's resort cruise collection. Well, now its time for their "traditional" S/S collection.

First Versace and now Louis Vuitton have decided that bright, bold colors are the things to have slathered on us this season, especially when it comes to your handbags.

Despite Louis Vuitton being such a classic and luxurious label, they are never hesitant about breaking away from the class and daring to try something different with their style without going too far from being recognized as Louis Vuitton. I appreciate that!

Too much toe cleavage?

We all know that there is a such thing as too much cleavage when it comes to our "top girls", especially if your are literally pouring them out if their cups. I will admit, I have made myself a victim of that definite fashion faux pas! However, some designers are tending to move that extreme cleavage showing down low...to the feet.

Toe cleavage has been lurking on some of the most fashionable feet for more than a minute now. I haven't been too keen to the toe cleavage. It just has never tickled my fancy. However, if these Tibi Francoise flats are an indication of the future of extreme toe cleavage, then definitely count me out. Unfortunately, I have seen worse, though!

The blue is fabulous, though!

Love from Australia

I have been drooling over these boots ever since I saw Sienna Miller rocking a pair awhile back. They are the Love from Australia boots from the Nomad collection and although the shorts ones are super cute, my heart only rapidly thumbs for the tall ones!

This weekend, alone, both Jessica Alba and Meagan Good were both seen wearing different colors and styles at the Sundance Film Festival. I love Meagan's purple ones.

Prices range from $250-$300+, depending on were you get them. Here are some online retailers that carry them. Urban Minx, Shop Bop. and Blue Genes.

These are definitely a slight upgrade from the Ugg boots that I and I'm sure most of you can't leave in the back of your closet...for good! I'm sure these are just as super dupa comfy as Uggs, if not better!

Gucci cares about dominatrix!

Okay, maybe that's not an official statement from the Gucci PR peeps, but I can't help to not believe that after taking in a healthy dose of some their Spring/Summer 08 shoe collection.

All the black patent leather, the wide bands, and the corset inspired insteps are just visually teasing the dominatrix that secretly wanders in all of us. Let us not overlook the skyscaper high heels, which are the perfect height to feel the chicest of the chic while staring down at your handsome servants! Don't ya think?

Just in time for V-Day, Bottega Veneta's Oversized Intrecciato Tote is so beatifully hot and haute! Since I know I am not the only one riding the single and loves to mingle train so far this year, this bag is the ideal Valentine's date.

It has all the things I and I am sure some of you look for in a mate. Its sleek, well-made, big, but not in that bulky way, polished, and is worth a lot of money. Plus, I am sure that when you walk into a room, all the other women will be jealous that it's on your arm and not theirs! Forget flattery, jealously is the best compliment!

A Summer Tribute

Spring and summer are coming pretty quickly or does it just feel that way, because of all the spring and summer collections slapping us silly. So, Yves Saint Laurent couldn't just let us enjoy the memory of everyone wanting any color variation of the Tribute pump of last year. By the way, everyone should have a pair by now or at the least a cheap knockoff version.

Well, don't re-strap them on just yet! YSL has a new tribute to hold, or should I say for you to hold. The Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Sandal is out and smoking! Comes with the same svelte, sexy, nose bleed making heel and all the uber chocolate brown leather that goes with any spring/summer outfit you and your closet can concoct! I just love this shade of brown. Its so nuetral and can go with anything from a khaki shirtdress to a pair of black, wide leg slacks and a cream tank.

An oxymoron shoe

Slutty and sexy do not mean the same thing...AT ALL! However, when I gaze at these Sergio Rossi shiny rose gold, crisscross patent leather pumps, I see glimps of sexy shoes that would look perfect with almost any LBD in any closet. On the other hand, when I constantly look at the 1 inch platform and the 4 inch heel, I can't help but to picture a stripper earning her rent money in them. Don't you?

Either way, I just love the rose gold leather. I love gold just as much as the next King Tut, but rose gold is a nice fashion break.

Now that the clique of chic mommies are starting to release their mini mes, its not that surprising that more and more chic baby bags are being released. This Not Rational Gretel diaper bag looks nothing like the traditional pastel, puffy, diaper bags thar I remember my mom carrying with my then "little" sister in the early 90s. The Gretel bag is designed to be an everydag bag for me!! I mean, seriously, it has a shoulder strap AND braided handles! Muy perfecto!

Label Whore

This tee was so hard to find online. I was a millisecond away from breaking my "camera phones are bad for fashion pics" rule and get to snapping, but luckily Google caved in and sent me to a new fav online store that carries this Guttersnipe tee.

My mom bought this for me as a gag gift, but it has turned into a fav of my friends. I just the Louis V symbols throughout it.  Try and spot the other designers' logo/symbols. The one my roommate pointed out was the 'W' is an upside down Mui Mui 'M'. Fun. I wore it last night while carrying my LV bag and another stylish chica asked was I wearing a LV tee. "No comment" I replied! I'm ridiculous!

A 80s baby

So, yesterday, our favorite couple, Bigga, were seen dining and dashing in NYC and lady Bee decided it was the perfect time to start "teasing" us with the new pieces from the spring/summer Dereon collection.

I know I am not the only one to get dragged back to the mid-80s by seeing that wide, neon pink stripe going down the side of those pants/jumpsuit? Think lycra biking shorts? I had a pair with the stripe down the side in red, blue, yellow, neon pink, neon green, and orange and I even had a couple of them with the little skirt attached. Ugh, it hurts just to type that MAJOR fly, but fashion faux pas!

Anyway, based on this small glimpse, I am assuming that Bee & Co. are going to try and really bring back neon pink and green. Let's just hold on to our bamboo earrings and hope that they don't get caught up in this...again!

Did you know?!...Bag, Borrow, or Steal outlet store

I know you all have heard about Bag, Borrow, or Steal or at least seen one of their gazillion online ads on your favorite site. The basic premise is this, depending on your membership, you have the luxuy of renting some of the most wanted and hunted bags and when you are done with that bag you can send it back in exchange to rent/borrow another bag. I never bit the bait to join, but I always wondered in the back of my mind, "What they do with the 'old' bags?"

Well, after years of being interested in the somewhat ingenius idea of perpetuating frugal fabulousness, I decided to visit and Bag, Borrow, or Steal's website and I stumbled across their outlet department. THAT'S WHAT THEY DO...sell the previously borrowed and some that never left the building bags and hock them to us for a ridicuously low price!!!! That has added them to the top of my "Lovin' Them" list.

My two favs, that I could afford, are the Dolce & Gabbana Celtic Tote and hopefully the next addition to my bag closet, Rafe's Grenada 'Molly' Hobo. I seriously want this bag for the spring. The color and leather is delectable looking!! You should definitely go lurking around Bag, Borrow, or Steal's outlet  for some discounted authentic designer bags and jewelry! Perfect site to browse if you are like me and love to score inevitable and future vintage pieces!

Decrease the Crease

Being a 26 year woman that has lived a very interesting life of super ups and sucky downs means that I have experienced alot and have learned to appreciate all those experiences and except them as examples for where I am in life and the knowledge that I can handle almost anything thrown my way. However, one thing that is slowly irking the sweetness out of me is something my magnifying mirror pointed out to me a few weeks ago. All those bad break-ups, stressful years while obtaining my degree, and hours of squinting at my various TV and computer monitors are starting to show via the skin under my eyes.

For the past couple of years, I have been using Vaseline to turn away those little skin cracks, but I had a feeling that it was time for me to pull out my big girl wallet and drop some dinero on a "legit" eye cream. Enter, Clarin Advanced Extra-Firming Eye Contour Cream. When it comes to age/stress defying, take it seriously or take a day off to sit and become friendly with those facial enemies. That simple.

So, for the past three weeks, I have been almost religiously applying this soft to touch cream under my eyes every morning and after three weeks I once again have pre-boyfriends/college/job searching eyes. Smooth, virgin skin and my under eye concealer doesn't have anywhere to hide by mid-afternoon, like before. Gotcha, concealer! I understand that $55 can be a little pricey, but if you want results with you money, then you won't be sorry you purchased this eye cream!

Re-Converting Samida and Fendi

Last month, when I saw Beyonce accesorized in Fendi from head to toe, I was not that interested in the multicolored convertible tote, which converts to a clutch, she was carrying. I don't know if it was the odd shape or the multicolor itself, but Samida was not into it at all! I usually stand by Fendi through thick fur trim and thin purse straps, but this convertible confection was making it hard for me to do so. I temporarily blew out the candles on my Fendi shrine in  keep in my closet. However, now that I have seen the other colors from the collection, I must admit that I am so hooked!

Although, I love the black version Alicia Keys is rocking in her latest video, the one that has stolen my heart and possibly some future bill money is the Max/Radica tote. It has the just the right amount of Fendi's Zucca print, shiny patent leather, and style that could turn a plain outfit into a fly illfit! Sexy, too!

Sorry, I temporarily lost fate in you, Fendi.

Yay or Nay: Christian Lacroix Motorcycle Boots

If you a hardcore fashion and style stalker, then you already know that Christian Lacroix is one the most relevant and respect designers in the biz, especially with shoes. Hooowever, like all designers, you can't always hit it out the park. Valentino soon-to-be must have bag!!

Happy New Year, peeps! We are at that important time when we are starting with a clean slate in many aspects of our lives and having the luxury to do so in always impeccable, especially in the world of fashion. Last years trends and must haves are just that...last year. So, now its time to unbutton our tailored cuffs and roll up our sleeves to start snooping out the must have and trends of this year, which will hopefully be wonderful!

Last year, Valentino was responsible for one of the chicest must have in the form of its Histoire bag, which I still want. However, like always, Valentino won't halt in keeping us oogling and having soft core handbag fantasies this year, thanks in part to the Nuage.

You all should know by now that I am a fiend for a big, roomy bag and this one is definitely my style! Shiny, white patent leather always makes a nice transition from winter to spring/summer.
