Swooning For... Junior Drake Bag

A true multi-tasker loves things that do more than one task. Well, I believe that stylistas and fashionistas should love things that give you more than one look a la' this convertible bag by Junior Drake called the Phoebe bag.

It's a sleek and chic backpack! It's a roomy and trendy slouchy hobo bag! It's a bag after my own heart! I'm not really into backpacks at the age of 27, but this bag is gorgeous and will be mine! *insert evil laugh*

Yay or Nay...Nail Rings

I love rings! The bigger the better! However, I don't think I have the "omph" to rock rings on my nails.

Bijules has created nail rings which are available in two size- Nail Ring or Pinkie Nail Ring. The rings feature a gold nail and a serpeant wrapped around it. Very different. The rings are part of bijules "Serpensive" collection. So, yay or nay?

A Reunion worth the wait

So, its been almost 10 years since I said "peace out" to high school, which means that 10 year reunion is right around the corner. Well, that is the second reunion I am looking forward to, because these BC Class Reunion Moccasins are on the top of my list.

I don't know what it is, but I have been looking for shiny black flats for the past month. Yesterday, I bought of Franco Sarto flats that adore, but they might have just met there competition, because these are definitely on their way to Memphis!

Skin Couture Review...M LAB Anti-Aging Travel Collection

I am really into anti-aging products. Seriously, its my new beauty obsession. Don't get me wrong, like with most beauty/skincare products, I have found a couple of duds in a designer clothing, which aren't worth discussing, so I won't discuss them. However, there have been a few that have crossed my 27 year old face that have brighten my day and skin, like M LAB's Anti-Aging Travel Collection.

While packing last friday, I wanted to make sure my load was small and streamlined to perfection to avoid carrying alot of literal luggage and to avoid those extra fees that the airlines are giving out so freely. Well, needless to say, my M LAB kit was the perfect addition with its sleek black leather case, filled everything I would need to keep my skin bright and youthful.

The travel collection came with an clamming, creamy and light anti-aging cleaner that was tough enough to remove my make-up and leave my skin uber soft. Hard to find that now a days!

After the cleanser comes the anti-aging toner, which is free of scents, but full of ingredients that left my skin fresh and feeling squeaky clean. The toner comes in spray a bottle, which I am not a fan of, but that was the only fault I had with it!

Once the toner has toned the skin, next up to bat was the anti-aging treatment cream which is meant to be applied to those areas that have been hit by the aging train more intensely. Fortunately, I didn't need to use this, but I try it on out and was impressed by the smooth texture and the instant firmness by skin felt. Definitely a keeper for future reference!

Next was my fav beauty obsession; the anti-aging serum. Unlike serums I have used in the past, this one was clear and on the watery side. It really didn't do much, except kind of sealed all the previous things in my skin. However, I will admit that it did provide an extra bout of hydration my skin needed to combat that cold DC weather.

The anti-aging day treatment moisturizer with SPF 15 was utter perfection for me! It went on smooth and almost instantly absorbed into my skin without any diabolical greasy residue. It eveneed out my skin tone and provided and extra boost of freshness to my skin. Loved it!

Finally, the anti-aging eye cream is probably one of my favorite eye creams I have used, because it has a nice build to it without it being so heavy that it leaves a flaky residue, which I have experienced in the past. This one requires you to blend it under your instead of dabbing it, which tends to create that flaky feel and look.

All in all, I really loved the kit, there were a couple of things I could have done without (toner in spray bottle and watery serum), but the pieces of love that I found in the form of the cleanser, moisturizer, and eye cream makes up for those minor tidbits. Definitely worth the buy and try. Plus, the faux leather case is a fabulous honorable mention!

You can purchase the M LAB travel kit and other luxurious products by them at M LAB website.

I think I want to try the anti-aging blemish control cleanser and anti-aging blemish control treatment next. The names seem to speak to me and my skin right now!

EYE SPY...Raquel Zimmerman's Tee

Not everyone was able to partake in the historic day of the Obama Inaguration in person, including model Raquel Zimmerman who was working in Brazil at Soa Paulo fashion Week. Although she was in another country, her heart was still in the U.S, because she was rocking this Obey Obama PE tee backstage at one the shows she walked in.

Obey made a killing and will be continuing the monetary bloodshed thanks to the abundance of the tees and other merchandise they sold off this one iconic image of Prez Obama!

Malia and Sasha Beanie Babies?

TY Inc., the company behind the forever popular Beanie Babies, have introduced two new girls on the beanie block, 'Marvelous Malia' and 'Sweet Sasha'.

TY Inc. denies that the dolls are named and imaged after the Obama girls, but lets get real. I will admit that they don't favor them, but the names? Come on!

The company spokesperson, Tania Lundeen, said, "the names are beautiful", and that's why they picked them. Okay!?

Either way, I'm sure people will be scooping them up like crazy. Hell, I want a pair! What about you?

New Jack-ie Swing

What a week! Not only is change coming, but in a few weeks, so will income tax checks! I got all my W-2 forms and on the hunt to find a splurge item and I think I found it!

Gucci's New Jackie bags are on my list of of wants. Big, bold, and chic, just what I love in a bag! I'm not really big into logo ridden bags, with the exception of LV, but the coated logo bag is fabulous!

My plans for the weekend?

Well, this weekend I am going to take a long, but very rewarding trip to DC to intake and partake in the presendential anugaration! A couple of friends and I are driving up there tonight and crash at our friend Nicole's pad. Nic was able to a few tickets to some of the concerts and parties, because she works for one of the political big wigs. Luckily, she lives within walking distance from all the festivities so no need worry about transportation. For easy traveling purposes, I decided that my wardrobe will constist of nothing by knee length dress, a pair of tall classic black boots, a pair of glitzy pumps, and gold metallic oversize clutch. However, I also plan to break out my new Kate Spade tote, which is chic, simple, and elegantly patriotic.

I just got it the other day and it is roomy enough to hold all the stuff I jam into my everyday bag and then some. Not to mention, the red and blue bow is just too cute and the shape is classic.

Oh, I so can't wait. I didn't sleep all night so I would be able to sleep all night. Ladies, I am so sleepy that I yawned in my bosses face as we were talking about some work related matters...at 10 o'clock in the morning! I'm still so stoked!

Catherine Rapetti

I love checking my email, because beneath the bulk of spam about some prescritption drugs that won't help me, all the google alerts that I regret signing up for, and the abundance of club invites in NYC that serve me no purpose since I live in Memphis, there are some bits of info that lead me to places and designers that I have slept on or never heard of before.

Case in point, Catherine Rapetti. I've seen the name Catherine Rapetti before, but never gave it a second look. However, all that changed when I recently found out that she is the mastermind behind the metallic skull print clutch, which is The Paige Clutch-Skull, that I saw Taylor Momsen(Jenny) carrying on last week's Gossip Girl. I only saw it from a distance, but I knew I would love to find it. So, I decided to do a little browsing of Catherine Rapetti's collection and stumbled across a small line that I absolutely love!

Personally, I feel a little incomplete, because I don't have one of those Love Knot Bracelets on my wrist and presence! Hopefully, one day I will! They will definitely be on my February 'Lust-Have' list and probably that clutch, too!

To see more of Catherine Rapetti's past and present collections, visit her website and be prepared to fall in love with something!

I'M FREEZING, DAMMIT!

I know I am not the only one enduring some serious winter weather and diabolical wind chills. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather be cold than hot, but I have learned I prefer to enjoy this type of cold weather in the house covered with a Snuggie (Christmas gift) and have a remote in my hand and cup of hot white chocolate. The good life.

However, since I have to make a living and maintain my budding "Hustlette" lifestyle, I have to find things to keep me warm and ready to take on the wind chills. Ladies, I do believe that this hooded scarf will do that and then some.

I have really been on a hooded scarf scavenger hunt this past month and have come up lucky on each adventure. The Stockholm hooded scarf by Coal looks really warm and just my cup of tea, because I have been going to through a serious gray spell. I want this scarf, so I can tell Mother Nature to bring on the cold, because I am ready for ya!

Velvet Angels

Velvet Angels is shoe line that is allows a woman's style be sexy and sweet at the same time. However, when I first got a gander at these shoes, all I noticed was how bad I wanted those Assasin boots and how hot they look. Most of the shoes have high platforms and classic styles, which helps pull off the sexy and sweet look.

A Purse Pick Me Up!

Yesterday, I decided to run to the mall to scoop a new pair of sneaks and left my brother sitting in front of my working computer and monitor. While browsing in Lady Foot Locker, he sent me a text saying that the monitor was sparking in the back. By the time I got home, my monitor was already pronounced dead and my brother politely and a bit comically had covered it with a sheet. Now I am sitting in front of an old monitor that my  neighbor had, which reminds of the old computers from junior high when I was first introduced to the beauty of computers. All morning I've been looking behind me expecting my 8th grade computer teacher Mrs.Trotter to sashay behind me and corrected the way my fingers are on the home row.

Anyway, I needed to find something to pick me out of my tales of the 8th grade nothing memories and found something that did!

Hype's Amnada Crossbody is sexy, fun, functional, and just down right hot!  The shiny snakeskin print and the big gold accents put me in an instant trance of want and lust, which is a lot to say considering I am not the biggest fan of crossbody bags, but this onew has my attention!

Queen Latifah's 2009 People's Choice Awards Look

Last night, Queen Latifah took on hosting duties for the second year in a row at the People's Choice Awards and she looked absolutely stunning in that beautiful jeweled purple dress. Although, the dress alone is gorgeous, her make-up adds an extra touch of elegance and envy thanks to make-up artist extradanaire Sam Fine. Below, you can find what Sam Fine did and used for the Queen to look like, well, a queen.

THE LOOK:
Classic with a hint of color - Fine complimented her purple dress using subtle shades. For the green dress, he simply created a bolder lip.

EYES:
Fine used eggplant on the eye - it's easier to wear than lilac and is closer to brown/mahogany tones. He applied it to the crease of the eye and underneath for definition. Fine used CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 4-Kit in Ice Princess, $5.61 at drugstore.com.
He paired the eggplant with an opalescent beige shadow on the eyelid to open up the eye.
Fine used eye liner for definition on the top and tons of lashes.

"I don't know anyone who can hit the red carpet without lashes." - Sam Fine

Mascara help to fuse Queen's lashes to the fake lashes. Fine used CoverGirl VolumeExact Mascara in Very Black, $8.47 at drugstore.com.

CHEEKS:
Fine started with a dusting of bronzer. Queen had just come back from the holidays so she had a nice base tan. The bronzer helped to keep the golden glow going.
He then layered on a rose colored blush on top of the bronzer. It added a hint of sublte color. Fine used CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Minerals Bronzer in Brown Bronze, $8.18 at drugstore.com.

LIPS:
Fine lined Queen's mouth with a liner.

"Liner is a step I never skip, even when doing a nude lip, especially on women of color. It really helps to define the lip." - Sam Fine

The lipstick and gloss were a neutral yet mauvy tone. The gloss was put on top to make the color stand out against her skin. Fine used CoverGirl Wetslicks AmazeMint in Pink Positive, $6.25 at drugstore.com.

Queen Latifah looked beautiful and is just one more on a list of A-listers such as Tyra Banks, Beyonce, and Vanessa Williams that have gotten the golden bronzer touch of Sam Fine. To find out more about Sam Fine and some must-know tips from the make-up artist, then visit his website SamFine.com

Hot Kicks...Supra's Timbos Skytops

I don't know what it is about the classic tan and brown nubuck of Timberlands that translate so hot to other styles of shoe (i.e Manolo Timbs from 2001). However, once again the iconic Timberland look has spread to another shoe and I for one and more than stoked.

Supra has released a limited edition of their popular Muska Skytops that features all the remanants of Timberlands classic shoe and they have tentatively named it the Timbo Muska Skytops.

My wallet and I are still on detox mode post-Christmas, but these are definitely high on my list!

You know how I love me some boots! However, these rainbow-liscous boots by Sergio Rossi are not my cup of Kool-Aid. Although, I would be seriously drooling over these colorful boots when I was 4 years old and my dream job was to be the first black Rainbow Brite. How about you? Yay or Nay?

Jealous over Jimmy

Here I am at work, minding my own business when one of our clients struts in here with the most beautiful and exquisite bags I have laid my actually eyes on in person. I couldn't help but to ask her oh where, oh where did she get that bag. Jimmy Choo.

As the owner of this beautiful bag is in the next room chatting it up with one of my bosses, I am here in my office feeling jealous that this bag is not back here with me. Someone hand me a Zanax, because I am getting more angry by the minute!

Review: Patricia Wexler M.D Anti-Aging Solutions Kit

I am 27 and getting older by the day. Fortunately, I look my age and want to keep it that way. So, over the past year I have been dabbling her and ther with trying out anti-aging products. I guess I am starting early, but I'd rather get it before it gets me!

Over my 2 week holiday vacay, I decided to try out Patricia Wexler's Anti-Aging Solutions Kit. I've heard wonderful things about her skincare line, but have never gotten around to taking a test drive until now. So, why not start with something to try and keep my skin fresh and youthful.

The kit contains a creamy cleanser that goes on smooth and doesn't have any kind of "medicine-y" smell, which I appreciate. The cleanser is also strong and safe enough to remove eye make-up. Loved that! Also in the kit were microbrasion system (which I use once a day), day and night moisturizers, skin regenerating serum (which I love!), and deep eye winkle repair(which I don't need yet, but use).

This kit has just enough samples of each product get you started in coming up with a anti-aging regimen. Since I have been using it, I have noticed that my skin is a lot smoother and brighter. Since I am only 26 years old, I don't have any deep wrinkles under my eyes, but that didn't stop me from using the eye cream twice a day. However, since I have been using it, I have noticed that the skin under my eyes is firmer and my under eye concealer is loving it so much that it doesn't melt away by the end of the day!

I definitely recommend these kit to anyone trying to venture in the overwelming world of anti-aging products.

I give this kit 4.5/5 wrinkle-free winks!
