All tied up!

I know that I have been slacking in the post department, but I have been supa dupa busy. That is going to change starting today!

When it comes to hair accessories I use, that area is usually filled with plain black fabric elastic bands. For the past couple of weeks, the elastic bands have taken a backseat to wide headbands and beautiful print scarves  to hold back my flyaways tresses.

A couple of months ago, my mom gave me this beautiful Pucci scarf that I never wore, because it wasn't my "thing" at the time. This summer though, that scarf has been wrapped around my head and straps of my "bag du jour" more times than I can count! I am officially claiming this scarf as a my summertime fling! Today I had to drop my lover off at the dry cleaners because of a glass of spilled raspberry ice tea at lunch. Oh, how I miss him so!

Since I was sans scarf, I stopped by Target to find a temp for my Pucci. I found some of the cutest scraves by Issac Mizrahi. The one to right is now holding back my hair as I type. Its so cute! I guess dots are the "it" print this season, because they were slapped all up and down scarves, barrettes, and bags in the hair and accessories aisle!

Anyway, back to scarves! Scarves have so many functions, especially with hair. Instead of just throwing that ponytail in your hair, give it a companion. Throw a scarf around you head to hold back potential flyaways and you will look like you actually spent time on your hair style instead of the basic and generic ponytail. Better yet, use that scarf to hold your ponytail instead of an elastic band like yours truly!

If you are one of those ladies who let your follicles flow freely all day, then you probably aready now about the beauty of the scarf to hold down the hair that sits near your forehead. For my fellow brown beauties who are sporting the naturals styles, a nice scarf can polish those looks up quite nicely! My curly tresses have thanked me already!

BONUS, BONUS, BONUS ALERT: One of my fav and fab uses of scarves are that oh so important "splash of color" that are needed for us white tees and basic bottoms ladies! Need a splash of color, throw a bright multi-colored scarf on your bag, waist, or crown of glory! That'll shut up those colorless comments!

Stay Stylish!
