I am so in love!

For a couple of years now, I have been hearing about this wonderful skin treatment called microdermabrasion. Initially, I thought it was for women of "a certain" age to help reduce the appearance of winkles and whatnot, but I have been schooled that I have been somewhat wrong.

On Thursday, I made a long overdue visit to my dermatologist. I brought up the possibility of me getting a microdermabrasion treatment and he promptly let me know that I was in prime candidacy because of my acne prone skin.

Although he assured me the process would be painless, the whirring sound coming from the device made me feel otherwise. Needless to say, the doctor was right and once again, I was wrong.

He did warn me about the appearance of my skin and how it would take a while to notice the difference. I was shocked at what I saw when I looked in the mirror. My face was all red and looked sore. It looked so abused, that when I was unlocking my front door, my neighbor asked if I was in an accident or fight. I was slightly embarassed, but I brushed it off. I spent the rest of the day applying the moisturizer that the doctor gave me. After an hour or so, the redness was disappearing and the positive glow was approaching. The next morning, I realized that I found a new love of the moment, microdermabrasion.

Since I got the treatment because of my acne prone skin, I was told that I would need regular treatments. Instead of dropping that moolah on the doctor visits, I am looking to invest in an at home treatment. I looked and begged my mom to dish out the dollars for this:

DermaNew Acne and Oil Clarifying Kit. Although its not one of the more exspensive kits, I still have high hopes for this based on the description and the fact that its made for my ugly skin type.

Here's to good looking skin!
