My new pastime!

For the past few weeks I have found a new hobby to kill time in between looking for a job, doing freelance projects, and coming up with post topics; checking my hair for split ends! Are you jealous?

It started when I found an end that had been split into three! Yeah, you read right, THREE! I damn near dropped dead, but luckily the thought of me getting a manicure later that day quickly revived me! Anyway, ever since that day I have been searching for products that will prevent such a catastrope from happening again. Here a few of my finds.

The first is an oldie but goody! Its Healthy Ends by Profectiv and holds the title of being the subject of one of the first posts I ever wrote. I have been having a soft and split end free affair with Healthy Ends for over a year. Recently, it has been really hard to find. I use to be able to pick it up at almost any Wal-mart or Walgreen, but now I can only seem to find it at the Walgreens downtown on Main St. here in Memphis. When I found that triple split end, my hair had been deprived of it for a few weeks. Needless to say, when I was downtown this weekend I strutted out of Walgreens with a little over 25 bucks worth of Healthy Ends (5 jars to be exact)! You have to stock up on the good and hard to find stuff. Lord forbid if they ever discontinued my Healthy Ends, I might just have to start rocking the Sinead O'Conner look circa 1990.

The next product is something I found in the bathroom of a friend of mine who is addicted to hair care products. Its Tigi Bed Head, Ego Boost Split End Mender, Leave-In Conditioner  and don't let the long title and slightly high price tag deter you from picking this up. I fell victim to that in the past. Once I was in Trade Secrets in Oak Court Mall and thought about buying it until I saw the price tag.  Over $10 is a little high for me when it comes to hair care prods. If I knew then what I know now, I would have bought a couple of bottles. You can use it on dry and wet hair, can you say "double the pleasure, double the fun". I have also been using it to stop this bad case of flyaways I have been plagued with for the past couple of weeks. Definitely worth taking up that scarce bathroom counter space, and in my case, taking up space in my everyday bag!

The final product is something my colorist threw at me a couple of weeks ago when I got my hair colored. Its packed with aloe vera, olive oil, and various vitamins for dry, color treated hair and split ends. It might as well have my name and a picture of me and dry and colored hair stamped across the side, but instead it has Propoline Mask for dry, colored hair and split ends splashed on the box. Its a mask that you apply to your hair after shampooing. You leave it on for a few minutes, rinse it out and enjoy your fab, soft, and moisturized hair sans split ends! Another pricey product, but worth the dollars!

I am glad to say, I have not found another triple split end, let alone the typical split end! I give credit to these products, because they have defintely helped me and my hair!

Now I am off the take this silver nail polish off my toes. I don't know what I was thinking last night when I put it on!

Stay Stylish!
