The colder it gets, the drier my skin gets. However, the skin on my body gets drier than the skin on my face and I say “dry”, I mean ashy. Personally, I have 3 go-to products to help me and my skin combat the winter staple of dry skin. Keep reading to see which products are in my arsenal at all times.

My go-to body moisturizer for the past couple of years has been the Nivea Essentially Enriched Body Lotion. What I love about this moisturizer is that it’s hydrating and absorbs into the skin instantly. I wear it all year round and not just in the winter, because it’s the perfect heavy cram consistency.

When your skin gets really dry, it has a tendency to crack and that’s when you break out the Aquaphor. Aquaphor is a healing ointment for dry, cracked, and irritated skin. There are numerous bottle and tubes of this ointment scattered throughout my everyday spaces. I keep a travel size one on my desk at work to help with dry hands and cuticles, because the soap in office bathroom is drying. I also keep a small tube for my lips in the bottom of my purse and in my car when my lips feel chapped.

We have arrived at the final level or ashy winter skin killers; coconut oil. I will admit that I’m one of those people who probably uses coconut oil mainly on my body than in my kitchen. However, it just serves so many needs. For instance, this weekend, I drenched my hair in this miracle oil as a pre-poo treatment to help strengthen and moisturize my hair and scalp. Also, as an alternative to body oils, I apply some to my skin after I get out of the shower. Coconut oil is a great to help soften and moisturize your skin.
