Isabel Marant x H & M

isabel_marant_x_H_M

So….this is major to me, because I along with countless other fashion, have become obsessed withe style and fashion genius that is Isabel Marant and her iconic hidden wedge sneaker and chic clothes.

Well. today, H&M announced that they will be collaborating with the designer for a collection that will feature pieces inspired by her style and past collections. The collection will H&M stores and online November 14, 2013.

I am flattered by this collaboration: H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honour. I aim at creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian. You dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed by following one’s own instincts and my take on fashion is all about personality,” says Isabel Marant.

“We are excited to have Isabel Marant as a guest designer at H&M. The way she mixes different elements in her collections, creating a style that is effortless and urban makes her very contemporary. She has a fantastic eye for ethnic detail and the rare ability to create something that people really want to wear. We are sure the H&M customers will be enthusiastic about this collection,” says Margareta van den Bosch, Creative Advisor at H&M.

I can’t wait! What about you?

The Return of The Overalls

overalls_2013

They say, in fashion, everything makes a comeback. True. However, I didn’t think overalls would come back so hard! Whether you call them overalls or dungarees, they are back, folks!

This summer, overalls will be be your best friend. They are perfect to throw on to run errands or over your swimsuit to the beach. I’m not sure how you can wear them to your cubicle job, even on the casualness of casual Friday, but I suggest you get a pair like the ones above.

LUST-HAVE LIST: June 2013

LHL_june2013

I guess I’m really into prints this month, huh? I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older/more mature, but I’ve been opening my mind to more fashion choices that I thought wouldn’t work on me or emphasis things that I’m insecure about (i.e  my legs and flabby arms) in the past.

Prints. We use to be real cool when I was in the 6th grade and my mom bought me all these super cute printed 2 piece short sets and dresses for my “chubby” shape. What up Sears’ Pretty Plus section?!?!

Well, here the things I’m lusting for June! You?

  • A. Pom Pom Flippy Dress, $240, TopShop – I’m just drooling over the color combination and knit work on the bodice!
  • B. Tartine Tote in Diamond Raffia, $398, J. Crew – I love the ethnic contrast, yet simplicity of this tote. Perfect for a work day or beach day. 😉
  • C. Dominic Jones Hinged Ring, $455, Net-A-Porter – I’m obsessed with hinged rings! I feel that everything wrong in my life will instantly get “fixed” if I have this ring. Well, I can dream….while wearing this ring.
  • D. Challis Shorts, $17.99, Target – I go to Target a lot….A LOT! Every time I go, I always contemplate on if I should buy a pair and I still haven’t bought a pair…yet.
  • E. 7 For All Mankind Zena Sandal, $158, Piperlime.com – They are just so fab! I can’t.

Scholl Know What To Say….

drschollsorigsan

Eh…lame header. However, don’t let that take away from the giddy and flooding flashbacks that some of you are having after seeing these sandals.

Good ol’ Dr. Scholl. That name is synonymous to feet as much as socks and shoes. However, not too many people know and/or remember that Dr. Scholl is responsible for one of the most iconic and classic pair of sandals ever; the ‘Original’ sandal.

Here’s a quick little “cliff note” about these sandals. Dr. Scholl, himself, designed this sandal in the late 1960s with a raised toe and contoured sole to help compliment the design of the foot and encourage the natural gripping and flexing while walking. That man….what a genius.

So, not only are these iconic beauts chic, but also good for your feet. I haven’t seen a pair in a quick minute, but as soon as I found out that Nordstrom is carrying them, I wanted a pair instantly.

They come in various colors, prints, and textures and will run you $78. Check out Nordstrom.com and Drschollsshoes.com for more.
