Skinny Spring with Levi’s

LEVIS_spr2013

I seriously can’t wait for spring to arrive. Don’t get me wrong, I would rather be cold than hot any day, but I think I’ve have my winter fix for now and would just love a consistent flow of warm weather.

So, to help me gear up for spring, I’m starting to notice and take note of spring clothes and why not start with denim. Levi’s has released some styles and fits of skinny jeans including the Selvedge Boyfriend jeans in Painted Blue, Tinted Sky, and Rinse. I want these in every shade, because they extremely comfortable , versatile, and chic, too!

Another pair that I’m loving are the Seamed High Rise Skinny jeans. They look very retro to me, thanks to the soft powder blue ring, angled hem, and twisted side seams. They are also high in the waist, which helps to elongate the legs and sleek silhouette.

Gold All In My Ring…

GOLDRINGS_main

Oh, Trinidad James. How I despises your look and catchy song that I can’t help but to blare everytime it comes on the radio and stays in my head for the rest of the day. Don’t believe me, just watch.

Aside from the ratchetry that is that song, it does speak to me, because I love gold, especially in jewelry form. One thing that I’m craving to rock again is multiple big, gold rings. I was a 80s baby, so rocking gold rings on every finger was NOTHIN’!

However, as an adult, rocking the best 10kt gold initial ring from a kiosk in the center of the mall is not really….chic, but simple shapes and styles is suitable. Here are some gold rings that I’m craving!

  1. Topshop Smooth Rectangular Ring, $20
  2. Topshop Metal Triangle Ring, $20
  3. YSL Arty Gold-Plated Ring, $250
  4. Tom Binns Signet Ring, $282

Dress On

social occasion dresses

We are in the midst of dress shopping season. Oh, you didn’t know or even realize there was such a thing as dress shopping season? Well, technically, there isn’t, but if there was a time of year when there was an increase in shopping for dresses, then this would be the time of year.

Personally, I’m looking for some casual dresses to prep me for spring. Whereas, I know that a lot of young ladies (including my little neighbor, Kiki) are looking for after dark dresses and bodycon dresses for upcoming social and formal events such as spring dances and of course, prom! By the way, when did prom dresses go from the one night of the year to look and feel like a princess to looking like you were going to the club?

Anywhoo, I’ve been eying way too many dresses the past few days. The weather here in Memphis is borderline bipolar. One day, I’m grabbing a light jacket to run some errands and the next day, I’m leaving work early to get home before a nasty mix of snow and ice hits the streets. True story from last week, by the way.

Still, the style I’m still fawning for are maxi dresses. Last year, I didn’t get a chance to buy and rock as many maxi dresses as I would like, but that’s going to change this year starting with the above arsenal of maxi dress options I spotted over at SurfStitch.com. Aren’t they amazing? Actually, there were A LOT more dresses I saw and instantly wanted, but I became instantly obsessed with these three.

  • Just Add Sugar Bayside Maxi Dress in Melon and Navy Stripes
  • Jorge Into The Void Maxi Dress in Vermillion
  • Betty Basic Monoco Dress in Electric Blue White Stripes

Am I the only one literally itching for the warm and sunny spring weather to hit, because I’m already over winter with its cloudy skies and flu making weather. I know I’m not alone in saying this, too!
