This summer’s heat has been pretty unbearable most days. Having to deal with sweltering humidity, keeping the A/C on all day, and pushing my natural deodorant to the limits is exhausting. However, one area in my life that has been tested repeatedly by this heat is my hair line a.k.a my edges. First off, the hair on my hairline is a lot courser than the rest of my hair. So, even the slightest mist of moisture makes it frizz up. Thankfully, there are plenty of products to help us keep our hairlines slick and in formation.

Unfortunately, this heat has been testing even the strongest of gels and edge control. One a recent sticky hot summer day, my edges started to loosen, lift, and unravel by noon. Therefore, on my lunch break, I raced to the nearest drugstore where I picked up this gem; Perfect Edges On The Go. When I tell you this little tube has saved me from looking like wet rat by the hairline of plently of occasions, you wouldn’t believe me. Lazy Girl’s Guide To Packing For Vacation

Up until my mid-20s, I used to hate traveling for vacation. It was just an absolute headache and that was back when I didn’t have to be responsible for any of the financing. However, I eventually learned to not only like traveling, but love it. I was able to do this my simplifying as many elements of traveling as possible, starting with creating a guide to packing for vacation.

When I pack for vacation, I start by being realistic of what I’m going to need. I loathe over-packing. Not only are your carrying around waste, but depending on if you’re flying, it can cost you a lot of money. So, I’ve become very conscious of what I really need to bring when on vacation. Not to mention, bringing too many options will leave room for you to overthink. Who wants to overthink anything on vacation, let alone which color shorts to wear? Not me. Minus the basic denim shorts and basic tees, here’s what I include in my guide to packing for vacation.

My current hair journey of going lighter lead me to this week Item of the Week, which is Cream of Nature Coconut Milk Treatment oil. After wearing my hair primarily straight for the last month, I decide to try going heatless until my next hair appointment. Mainly, because my next appointment I was bee going drastically lighter. So, I decided to “baby” my hair and avoid heat, regularly deep condition it, and keep hydrated. Unfortunately, when I wear my hair curly, it can be hard to keep in the moisture. The top way to keep moisture in my hair is to seal it with an oil and here we are.

Spring Beauty Wishlist 2018

For the past few days, I’ve noticed that my skin is popping. It’s glowing, the texture is smooth, and it feels soft as a baby’s bottom. However, it’s not perfect, because large pores will always be a genetic stain in my life. Still, I’m very happy with the current state of my skin and I’m open to start trying new beauty products again. I have few on my list to try and decided to share them with my spring beauty wishlist.

Holy Grail Deep Conditioners

After years of contemplating, I finally started the process of lightening my hair. I started my getting highlighters throughout my hair and have the final session at the beginning of June to finish the process. The weeks leading up to this had me deep conditioning like crazy to help enure my hair would be strong enough. When dying your hair, especially when going lighter, you need to make sure your hair is strong and in good condition. The best way to do this is to use deep conditioners after washing your hair once a week.
