Make-Up Monday…Estee Lauder Vivid Shine Collection f/ Lip Luminizors

I’m all about rich purples and pinks right now, when it comes to make-up. So, Estee Lauder’s new Vivid Shine collection is fabulous to me!

The collection features bold and bright shades of purple and pinks for eyes, lip, and nails. However, the one item I’m fascinated with and geeked to try are the Lipstick Luminizors.

You apply the luminizors over your lipstick for to add a new and color, finish, and overall dimension to your lipstick. The lipstick luminizors are available in 4 different shades; Gunmetal ( turns color deep, dark, dramatic), Lame’ (adds warmth with a golden finish), Pearlescent (lightens color with a pearly glow), and Foil (adds a cool silvery finish).

Fragrance Friday…Marc Jacobs Dot

I’m a huge fan of Marc Jacobs perfumes, especially Daisy. I love Daisy! Anyway, as soon as I saw his new scent, Dot, I was instantly sold. Not because of the scent or my past favorable experience with MJ scents, but by the packaging.

I’m a sucker for packaging and the ladybug look of the bottle means something to me. When I was in the 6th grade, I use to be one of the honor student tutors for a 2nd grade class and one of the students in the class (my friend’s little brother, to be exact) decided to call me “Ladybug” instead of my name which begins the same. Eventually, that nickname followed me to junior high where my best friend decided to call me that and still calls me that to this day (ALMOST 20 YEARS LATER!) Ladybugs will always hold a place in my heart and soon on my foot, because my next tattoo plans to be a ladybug.

Oh…the perfume! Anyway, despite the whimsical and playful package, Dot smells very alluring and sophisticated, thanks to the clean and slightly floral scent. Definitely a scent after my heart all together!

Celeb style hair styles

Ever wished for hair styles that look like all of the celebs in magazines? If you are willing to put  the effort in, you can make it happen! the article below offers excellent tips on getting the healthy hair that you want.

You want to brush your hair so the important oils move along the hair shaft. When you begin brushing, start towards your scalp and work tangles out gradually as you work down. This will help you move the natural oils around.

If you need to blow dry your hair, do not concentrate it in one area. Instead, move it around. This will help keep the heat from damaging your hair.

To maintain healthy hair, avoid utilizing a blow dryer as much as you can. Due to the heat that hits your hair directly from a blow dryer, your hair can become damaged. If you towel dry your hair, pat it dry rather than rubbing it vigorously.

Use a hair mask in your home to get great looking hair. You could mix eggs with a ripe avocado fruit. Massage the concoction into your hair, and let it sit about 20 minutes before rinsing it out. When the time is up, take care to rinse the mask out of your hair thoroughly. The avocado provides minerals and also fatty acids that help add shine to your hair.

Deep condition extremely dry hair. There are conditioning treatments out there that will help your dry, brittle hair. Make sure you dampen your clean hair. Next, saturate your hair with a rich conditioning product and gently distribute it throughout. Once the conditioner has been absorbed, don a plastic cap, then wait for a half hour while the conditioner soaks into your hair. Wash and rinse your hair completely for more moisture in your hair.

To get your hair in better condition and make it stronger, try not to use too many hand-held drying devices. Over time, curling irons, flatirons and blow dryers can cause damage that leads to frizz and breakage. Try giving your hair a little break from the heat here and there.

One way to protect your hair from sun damage is to use hair care products that include sunscreen. The sun can damage hair and decrease any benefits you will see from your hair care routine. By protecting your hair, not only will you keep it healthy, but you will also keep it looking beautiful.

Reduce the stress in your life. It may seem like stress and hair are unrelated, but stress can actually affect your hair’s health. People with too much stress in their lives can lose a lot of hair and it can become damaged. Get plenty of sleep and schedule ample relaxation time in order to reduce your stress.

If you enjoy wearing your hair in one ponytail, don’t put the ponytail in one spot every time. Stress can occur in your hair even when using soft scrunchies. This stress can lead to breakage over time. Try letting your hair down in your off hours to let your hair rest.

Try switching to a pillowcase made of silk or satin to protect curly hair. Cotton pillowcases absorb the oil and moisture from your hair. You can wake up with your hairdo still intact by sleeping on a satin pillowcase. You could also use a scarf or a satin bonnet as well.

Everyone should learn the right way to take care of their hair. Everyone can benefit from getting some reliable hair care advice. Almost all people have hair, and therefore will want to know more about managing it. You should be generous when it comes to sharing everything you know about caring for hair.

Wash and Style Wednesday….Carol’s Daughter Olive Oil Infusion

Although I’ve been relaxer free for about 8 years now, I’ve still been using heat occasionally and coloring my hair. However, this summer I gave up on my trying to go blonde and decided to dye my hair back to its natural dark brown shade. Unfortunately, the intense summer heat changed my hair to a auburn shade that I don’t want. So, I’m dying my hair, yet again. I don’t want to, because my hair is getting thicker and drier by the day. Hopefully, this will be the last time I dye my hair for awhile and I can begin trying to “baby” and nurture my hair.

The first thing I plan to do is buy and try Carol’s Daughter’s Olive Oil Infusion kit. It’s a softening and detangling kit that’s great for most hair types, including my colored and heat damaged hair. The kit comes Khoret Amen Hair Oil and Hair Smoothie. Everyone knows that olive oil is an amazing product to use on dry hair, so this sounds perfect to me right now. Also, I’m loving the $25 price tag.

Make-Up Monday… Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour Blush

When it comes to blush, some people love it or hate it. For me, I used to hate blush, because I was all about not wanting to look like I had makeup on and blush was just a flashing sign that had makeup on.

However, I eventually learned its not the product itself, but the color and the application of the product. Light shades and strokes, ladies.

Well, this past weekend, I decided that I needed to do a mini-retail therapy to help soften all the stress and mess I’ve been dealing with and although the last thing I needed was more makeup…well.

Anyway, I’ve known for a while that Laura Mercier makes some amazing makeup, especially foundations, concealers, and powders, but I never really delved into her color makeup, until this weekend. On a whim, I decided to test some of her blushes, the second skin ones, to be particular. Obviously, the name says it all, because in the end, that’s all we want makeup to look like, second skin and not layers of colors.

This blush is the epitome of what blush should be; light, natural, velvety smooth, and down-right awesome. I was instantly sold on the Lotus Pink for a natural pink flush, the Lush Nectarine for soft peachy glow, and Soft Clove that makes a great contour powder for my complexion. I’m blushing for these blushes!
