You Got Me Stressed Up!!!

Sorry for the lack of posts, especially over the past few days. I wish I could be all “Oh, I was enjoying my extended Labor Weekend and laid around and did nothing, but watch TV, kick it with friends and family, and ate enough to feed a few people for a good week…blah, blah, blah.” Well, I can actually say that I did those things, but mainly the reason I haven’t posted is because around 11:30 pm, Thursday night, my life became a wreck! No, really a wreck happened while my then-boyfriend, now ex-boyfriend, was driving my car.

Small recap. He hit another car while not paying attention, panicked, ran and abandoned my car, the cops were called, my car got towed because he ran, and I couldn’t go to work the next day. Luckily, he turned himself in the next day and gave me the money to get it out of impound and I was able to go pick my car up that evening. HOWEVER, my front right tire section was destroyed and I couldn’t even drive it. I had to get it towed at 11 o’clock at night found out the next morning(Friday) that basically the whole front tire section would need to be rebuilt and aligned, including the steering aligned. Oh, and they could do it for about $1212….NOT including the bodywork. Oh, did I forget to mention that when I asked my then-BF was he going to help pay for the damages, he flat out said no?! Oh, well, he did and now he’s my ex and someone that I used to know. 🙂

Anyway, to say that I’ve been stressed is a little bit of an understatement and I don’t know where to begin to de-stress…or do I?

Aromatheraphy is quite lovely.  Apparently, there’s a scent for every feeling and the scent that is known to calm you down is lavendar, but did you know that vanilla does, too. I didn’t. Usually, when I smell vanilla, I perk up and get excited that possible something sweet to eat is nearby. So, I’m very tempted to try out Bath and Body Work’s Vanilla Verbena collection. It sounds absolutely perfect and I need ASAP, if it works. I think I’m going to swing by after work.

Origins’ GinZing Eye Cream is to help brighten and depuff eyes. Does it? YES, it did and still does on my eyes, at least.

Ever since I started using it, my under eye area has been brighter and my under eye concealer is smoother and brighter. Lovely!

If you are having problems with dull and/or puffy undereyes, then you might want to try this. I’m just saying.

Do you want Fame?

Lady Gaga’s much anticipated first perfume has been released and is currently available at Sephora.

Although, I’m not much on celebrity perfumes, I am curious about this one. Apparently, it is black ink like liquid that evaporatesn once sprayed. Sounds interesting. Plus, I’m intrigued to smell what scent that Lady Gaga and her creative mind has concocted for her inaugural scent. Don’t you?

It comes in a rollerball and 3 different fluid ounce sizes, that starts at $42 at Sephora.

Bikini So Teeny

Why beat around cute and/or clever post titles and let just get around to what this post is about…Essie’s Bikini So Teeny nail polish.

I first heard and saw this color on one of the multitude “beauty guru” I follow on Youtube and was pretty instantly enamored with the cornflower blue color. I’ve received SO MANY compliments on this polish and they are warranted, because this color is amazing. Probably one of the best 8 bucks I’ve spent at Walgreens in a minute. Yes, Walgreens. You can buy Essie nail polish at Walgreens, Target, and I believe even Walmrt. So, there is no reason for you to not be able to find this polish that I feel NEEDS to be in your polish collection. If all those stores are a fail, there’s always Essie.com.

Starting Over with Origins

When I was young (i.e. late teens/early 20s), I was all about skin care, especially age-fighting products. I figured that the best way to prevent wrinkles and lines in my later years, is to fight them in my younger years before they could get a chance to find my face and get comfortable in the form of wrinkles and lines. Now, flip all the way to me now, at the age of 30. Can you believe that the girl who was obsessed with anti-aging products is now a woman with aging problems and NO ANTI-AGING PRODUCTS?!

Now, here I am ready to go to battle with aging skin and no weaponry in the form of wrinkle fighting moisturizers or creams. Oh, what a dry and tangled web I’ve woven. Well, I’m ready to prepare myself and I want to start at a place that used to give me life and rejuvenated my youth when I was a youth and hopefully will have the same effects on me now at the aging age of 30 as they did at 20; the Origins counter at my nearest department store (read: Macy’s)

Origins was everything to me when it came to skin care! They make some of the most amazing products for any and every skin type. I can still remember buying and swooning over their Never A Dull Moment exfoliator. Back then it came in a little jar, instead of a tube, but I’m sure it’s just as amazing. I would use it 1-2x a week and would be left with a smooth and bright complexion that would make my make-up look so effing flawless. I mean, your skin is your canvas. What’s the point of using some of the most expensive and luxe paints on a tattered and uncared after canvas. The same philosophy can be applied to your skin and makeup. Proper skincare is everything.

So, I need to get an anti-aging skin regimen and I’m pretty much sold on Origin’s Starting Over collection. Perfect title, don’t you think? The Starting Over collection only features an eye cream and moisturizer, but both are aimed at fighting and reducing wrinkles and lines that are already there. Now, I don’t have any wrinkles, but I have a some lines under my eyes that are annoying me and my daily attempt to apply smooth and flawless undereye concealer.

Although I want to try  both products, I think I’m going to buy the eye cream first, because my eyes are in dire need of a little TLC. Fingers crossed!
