Happy Friday, folks! Yeah. This has been a long week!

I’ve officially moved into my new place, which escalated pretty fast and slow. When I started to actually look and tour apartments a few months, the first place I looked at is where I actually moved 3 months later. Like I mentioned last week, it was just the most ideal place for numerous reasons and so far, so good.

One thing that surprised me is that I didn’t realize just how much “stuff” I had to move. Since I was buying all new furniture over time, I just thought I had clothes, shoes, and couple of boxes with beauty products and miscellaneous things. That’s still true, but it’s more than a “couple” and it doesn’t help that I live on the 3rd floor and no elevator. So, I’ve been taking a little at a time and hopefully have everything moved out my last place by this time next week. *fingers crossed*

Another thing that has been prolonging this move is that it’s been raining for 40 days and 40 nights. Well, not technically, but it felt like it and it’s supposed to rain again this weekend. However, I hope to get enough time and energy to go sofa shopping. Lettuce pray!

I hope you all have a relaxing weekend and that will be able to post more next week than I did this week.

Happy Friday, people! I really hope you had a good week or at least a productive week. Although my week started off slow, it quickly picked up and I’m super glad that it did. For some reason, it’s been taking me a little longer than usual to shake the “holidays hangover” that occurs after the new year. Typically, I fall back into my schedule and usual stride after a couple of days of being back in the office. However, this year, everything didn’t feel like it was back to normal until this past Wednesday.

Thankfully, I got my mojo back just in time, because it’s fasting season! Yes, every year around this time, my church does a corporate 21 day fast. This year’s fast started yesterday and I’m actually very excited. In the past I’ve done the Daniel Fast, fasted off of coffee, and even fasted off of meat. Each year, I used that time to strengthen my faith and pray for things on my heart. This year is no different. This year, I’ve decided to fast off of sugar, which I decided on just days before while preparing for my fast. Initially, I was going to fast off of bread, but sugar seemed to be bigger scope. Plus, it’s something I’ve been wanting to do to see just how it effects my health; mentally and physically.

While fasting, I’m going to be praying and preparing for the all the good things that I know are in store for me this year. I’m praying for some big things to happen this year and need to make sure that I’m focused. After spending these last few years fasting, I’ve notice that I become more focused when doing so. I assume it’s partly due to the fact that I’m not distracted. When you fast off of anything, it causes you to become more focused on NOT doing something which has a tendency to spill over to other things. It’s weirdly good!

Personally, I think everyone needs to fast off of something every year, but this doesn’t have to be limited to food. Over the past few years, I’ve seen a huge increase in the number of people who fast off of social media. This just shows you how big of part that social media plays in people’s lives now. I might do it one year, but not this year. 🙂

Anywho, I hope you all have a great weekend and use this time to rejuvenate something that you’ve been missing in your life. Spending quality time with loved ones, picking up a hobby you use to enjoy, or binging old episodes of The Office on Netflix are some examples. In other words; just do you, boo!

Link-End Round-Up | April 27, 2018

I have to admit that I’m low-key tripping off the fact that this is the last Friday of April. May is next week, ya’ll. How Sway?!

For the most part, I spent most of this week being more mindful of me; internally and externally. A couple of times a year, I decided to pay attention to all the things in my life for a few days. Afterwards, I try to do some tweaks to not increase my current productivity, but also my future objectives. I’ve been looking for things to do to make me feel better, such as putting a bottle of water by my bed at night so I can chug it before I step out of bed. This has helped me have more natural energy in the morning AND ya girl’s undereye area is looking brighter and more hydrated. However, that’s just one of the few things I’ve been testing out in my life. More on that at a later date that I will determine when I think about it again.

I’m so ready for the weekend, because I need some Vitamin D. It pretty much rained all week here in Memphis, which left scarce moments of activities or cute springy outfits. Last weekend, I took a break from social media…well from posting on social media. I spent those 5 days blindly living life by exploring past hobbies such as painting, drawing, and reading. It was pretty great and chill. So much so, I’m trying to decide if I want to it again, this weekend. We’ll see!

That’s all for this week’s Link-End Round-Up recap of my week.  Here’s to a great weekend spent chasing positive vibes while running away from negative ones. Let’s chat some more next week.

Happy Thanksgiving 2017!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving 2017

I’m up early thing morning to do a little light cooking, but also to express how grateful I am! Actually, I try to live a completely grateful life, not matter what bad things happen. My faith is so strong, I can do nothing, but live a life where I appreciate everything I have, which includes support friends and family, a great job, and a roof over my shoulders.

Appreciating everything that God has helped me and given me to have an amazing life is not something I take lightly. I grateful that I woke up this and every morning before today and going forth. I’m thankful that I’m still learning things about myself and actively trying to not take for granted this ultimate gift of life. I’m appreciative that my life is continuing to flourish at a steady pace so I can enjoy each moment.

On this day, let’s decide to make the effort to live a grateful life everyday. Trust me, it will be beautiful!

Also, there will be no Link-End Round-Up this week. However, I will be back next week with new posts and few pounds heavier. #LeSigh

Have a happy Thanksgiving! What are you grateful for the most this year?

Nightstand Books #1

Books have always been a love of mine, even when I stopped reading as much as I used to read. However, I always have a book within reach. For example, I usually have between 4-5 different books on my nightstand. Some of these books are books I’m currently reading, next in line to read, and books that I read for moments of motivation. So, I decided to share my current nightstand books.

nightstand books v.1

The book I’m currently reading and almost done with is the Anti 9-5 Guide: Practical Career Advice for Women Who Think Out The Cube. That’s such a long title for a small book.  I’ve been slowly reading this book for the past few months. However, don’t let that deter you from thinking that this book sucks, because it’s pretty good. It gives straight the point tips and ideas on how you can break away from you everyday 9-5 job. This book is loaded with advice from different women who have been able to break out away from the cubicle life. I only have a couple of chapters left, but I think I’m actually going to try to finish this up by this weekend.
