LINK-END ROUND-UP: March 24, 2017

Weekly Series, Link-End Round-Up, that recaps my past week and features things I read that interested me from around the internet.

I’ve been feeling so over overwhelmed this week, but I couldn’t put my finger on it until yesterday morning. My space is a cluttered and organized, which tends to lead to my life feeling cluttered and organized. Therefore, since it’s supposed to rain this weekend and spring has sprung, I’m going to start spring cleaning this weekend. After work today, I’m going hit up Walmart and buy all the cleaning supplies I need. Time to purge some things, too.

I’ve been feeling this need to simplify my life down to the bare necessities, but it’s hard to do when you think you need everything you have around you. For example, my desk at home and work, are beginning to look like displays for random pieces of paper and randoms objects with no designated place. When you have so many random things in your space you forget that it’s a work space. That has to change, because I need to work out some ideas that I’m storing in my head until I get to clear space or spaces.

Anywho, that’s my eventful plans for the weekend. Feel free to share your weekend plans below. Have a good weekend!

link-end round-up

After a long, fun night of drinks, I was not only able to still get up early, but I was also able to complete this week’s Link-End Round-Up. The first one of the month!

I had a pretty long, blurry week. Actually, I don’t remember what I actually did before right now, but I know I didn’t arrested, assaulted, or ashamed. All wins in my book!

Jokes and slight blurriness aside, I did get some things accomplished this week.  I believe that finally figured out a inner dilemma that has been plaguing me and my business or a while, got a quick facial waxing (that Mexican side, I tell you!) and I found a spot that serves the most perfect concocted mojito I’ve ever had! It’s refreshing, not too tart or sweet, and my new BFF this summer. I guess, I had an awesome week!

As usual, no set in stone plans this weekend except going to church and placing some Happy Mother’s Day flowers on my mom’s grave. Oh, and I plan to fast off of meat, dairy, and bread for another 2 weeks. Yes, again. So, this weekend, I might fire up the grill for a last minute grill meat feast. A coworker and I plan to start on Monday, so I have to do it this weekend to hopefully avoid any cravings. The struggle.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. See ya next week!

Adult Activity Books

adult activity books

Getting into a creative or productivity slump is horrible. When I feel uninspired, unproductive, or even just plain out bored there are number of things that I usually do. However, one new thing that I’ve been doing is buying and using activity workbooks.

Now, I know you might be thinking about the those activity books from your childhood that included  activities such as quick mazes and color-by-number. Weren’t those awesome?! My parents would buy those for me way before a regular coloring book, because activity books seemed “smarter” than regular coloring books. I guess that’s kind of true, because they guided me to think more and look outside the box. Fortunately, I get the same inspiration from the adult version of one my childhood staples.

Keep reading to see some of my current favorite adult activity books for creatives.

ADULT ACTIVITY BOOKS for CREATIVES:

1 page at a time adult activity books

1 Page @ A Time – I’ve mentioned this book before and I still reach for it whenever I hit a creative stump, writer’s block or just plain bored. It still lives on my desk at work.

wreck-this-journal

Wreck This Journal – I used to always see this book when wondering around Target and recently decided to buy it with the other cart full of stuff I didn’t plan on buying. However, this book is so ridiculous, random, fun, and interesting. I keep this book on my coffee table and although it’s intended to be a “personal” journal, I insist on guests flipping through it to find something to do. My sister tends to do the destructive ones. Eh.

The Art of Getting Started – This is the latest book added to my workspace. It’s filled with thought provoking, inspirational, and witty activities that forces you to think outside of the your normal box, which helps strengthen your creativity. It’s a great book to reach for when you feel uninspired and unproductive.

finish-this-book

Finish This Book – From the same author of Wreck This Journal, this book is an collaborative effort for you to, as the title suggests, finish this book. You are called to research and write the content to complete the story in the book. The perfect prescription for writer’s block.

I know My Tide! Do you know yours?

When it comes to laundry, everyone’s clothing can’t be treated and maintained the same way, because everyone has different wants and needs when it comes to washing their clothes. Some people’s items need a little more power to remove soiled in stains, whereas others might need something to keep their colors bright and intact. Everyone’s laundry needs are different.

To help you find a the right detergent right for you, Tide has a cleaning solution designed specifically for your laundry needs.

  • Tide Sport: Helps eliminate tough odors from athletic wear OR tackles tough stains and odors
  • Tide w/ a touch of Downy: Provides outstanding clean and extra softness
  • Tide Coldwater: Get brilliant clean at lower temperatures or Save up to 50% of energy per load by switching to Cold
  • Tide Free + Free TSR Booster: A Tide clean that’s free of dyes and perfumes
  • Base Tide + Base TSR Booster:
  • Helps remove even 7 day old stains

When it comes to my laundry woos, I have a hard time with my whites. No matter what, they just seem to get dingy after a couple of wears and it’s so annoying, because there is nothing I love than crisp white tops. So, it no wonder  that My Tide is Tide with Acti-Lift, which is basically original Tide with Acti-Lift technology to lift and remove dry stains with ease.

So, I just bought it this weekend and I kind of can’t wait to try it out to see for myself! So, go take the test and find out what’s you Tide.
