eSTYLIST: Thanksgiving 2018

For the past few years, I’ve had a couple of homes to stop by on Thanksgiving. Between me and you, I would rather just spend the day at home and deciding if I’m going to go Black Friday shopping. However, family expects you to drop by every year or they will drop shady comments to you on Christmas. So, I’m getting ready for Thanksgiving 2018!

My sister and I go to our brother’s house that morning for he and my sister-in-law’s annual sibling meal. We gorge for an hour while eating and mentally preparing to go to the big family dinner later that day. This year, my sister and I wanted to skip the big family one, but a lot of family haven’t seen the new baby, yet. Since I’m her ride, I have to go, too. *insert eyeroll*

So, to make the best out of a  less than wanted situation, my preferred Thanksgiving outfit is usually casual cute, but nothing too tight. It works for me every year and makes me feel like I’m doing something right. The same rules apply this year; low key comfy and high key cute.

eSTYLIST: Fall Uniform 2018

I’m just now getting used to cold mornings, warming my car up, and having to wear socks practically everyday. However, I’ve finally come to terms that I won’t be wearing flips flops anytime soon. Most seasons, I have a go-to outfit; usually mixing of simple pieces and casual accessories. Basically, I have a uniform each season and now it’s time for my fall uniform this year.

This season, I decided that I need to finally step away from my favorite go-to look of leggings, oversize tee, combat boots, and denim jacket. Instead, I want to go wit a slightly relaxed pair of blue jeans; not too dark or light. Although I still can’t turn away from a comfy tee, I will look for tees that are more formed tees and less oversized, stretched out options. Also, I want to move on from combat boots to more structured shoes and with a heel, which will make my insteps totally hate me. Finally, time to let my denim jacket get some rest and not wear it everyday. Instead, ovesized and cozy looking cardigans are my jam for this season. However, I will still reach for my denim jacket, just not as much.

eSTYLIST: July 4th Outfit 2018

In case you aren’t aware, July 4th is one of my favorite holidays – BBQ, fireworks, and free off day from work. Aside from the 4th encompassing some of my favorite things, it’s also a great reason to buy a cute new summer look. When I was kid, my mom would buy me and my brother a new 4th of July outfit every year. Even if we just wearing it to eat grilled hot dogs and watch the adults light fireworks in the middle of the street. However, those are still some of my favorite childhood memories to this day.

Unless I’ve been invited to 4th festivities, I mainly just wear whatever I can concoct from the clothes in my closet. I mean, I’ve accumulated enough options over the years. However, I occasionally might pick up a nice comfy tee or simple sandals, because of all the holiday sales. This weekend, I ordered this tie-hem tee from H&M and plan to break out this dark denim skirt that I got from Simply Be last fall. A love a good casually styled casual look paired with simple accessories. I also love that the straw bags from last summer are still in for this summer.

If you’re looking for a little July 4th outfit inspo, I hope this helps. Not to mention, these pieces are easy to mix and match all summer 2018. Check out all the details below.

eSTYLIST: Cinco de Mayo Day Party

Isn’t it awesome when a fun holiday falls in the weekend; like 4th of July? This year, Cinco de Mayo falls this Saturday and I already have 3 different Cinco de Mayo day party invites. However, I’m not sure if I’m going to make it to any of them, because I have a meeting all that morning and then I have to serve at church that evening. So, I might be a little too pooped to fall through any of them.

Still, I’m contemplating going to one and if I do, I’m thinking a cute and casual dress with minimal accessories. I have this super sweet printed dress that I got from Old Navy last year that I never got around to wearing, but I don’t have any cute and comfortable sandals to go with it. I guess I need to hurry up and decide if I’m going or not. If so, I have some shopping to do.

My dress from ON is no longer available, but I did find a similar one. Keep reading to see what I think is a cute contender for any Cinco de Mayo day party.

I’ve that gloomy point between seasons when I feel as if I’ve run out of outfit options. I tend to experience this the most between winter and spring. The transition from cold to warm can be hard to dress for. Needless to say, I can’t wait until this transition period is over and I can finally break out all the pastel shades and floral prints that embody my spring aesthetic. To help curb my lust for spring styles, I created this eStylist post that features a cute work-friendly look for spring.
