Happy Friday and first Friday of February 2024! If the first 2 days of February are an indication of the rest of the month, I’m not ready, because I’m starting to feel it already.

Yesterday I mentioned that I’m looking forward to this month. After the first 2 days of this month, at this point, all I have to do is survive it. Feels easier to say than do. Therefore, this is going to be a quick post. The reason being is because I some how have to work while feeling like I have million other things to do. Gotta love adulting!

One of the things on my head is if I’m going to resign my lease. I haven’t gotten the renewal offer yet, but I should within the next week. So, I think I’m going to see what’s out there and if I want it…lol. One place I’m think of was where I was going to move before I moved to my current location. We shall see!

Anyway, here’s to a nice weekend and check out the reads in this week’s Link-End Round-Up!

How was your first full week of 2024? It’s that wild?! It’s really 2024 and I recently realized that I graduated from college 20 years ago. Whenever I drive pass campus, the thought that most of the students walking around probably weren’t alive when I started there. Now, I think that they probably weren’t alive when I graduated. Ooh…chile…like me gather myself real quick.

I sure I’m the only, but the first full week after the holiday season is so hard. The main reason is because the first 2 weeks are short weeks and then the first full week. As soon as you start to get back into the flow, here comes another short week for MLK day.

I’m not one of those people that does new years resolutions, which makes the beginning of the year less stressful. However, my church does a 21 day fast and this year, I decided to fast off of meat. I’ve done it before and it was rough. This time I decided to still eat seafood, because I need protein for my strength training. I also decided to not replace meat with plant-based meat. Plant-based meat usually helps me out A LOT. Thankfully, I’ve made some changes to my eating habits over the last few months and those options just sound too heavy to me now. I can’t explain, but it just does.

Although I do have a 3-day weekend, there’s been some chatter that Memphis could get crappy weather. Do I think it will happen? Not really, but I’ve been wrong about our weather before. So, we shall see, but I do have plans all day tomorrow. I’m trying to show up more for my friends/support system, because I can be very introverted. Yet, I’m still a work in progress.

While I try to figure out what I’m wearing tomorrow, please check out the reads in this week’s Link-End Round-Up.

Happy Friday, ladies and lads! How was your week? Mine was fine and just fine, because seasonal depression felt like it was showing up. Thankfully, I’ve learned some coping mechanisms over the years on how to deal with it. I even included a link below on how to cope with certain holiday triggers.

I don’t have any plans for this weekend, which I need to enjoy. This might be my last clear weekend for the rest of the year, because I’m planning to complete all my Christmas shopping next weekend. This is starting to become my norm, because there aren’t many “must get before they sell out” things on my list. I think I’m hoping that procrastinating will have me score some last minute deals. *fingers crossed*

I still haven’t reworked my Christmas tree. So, I might do that this weekend, plus some of my lights had the nerve to go out. So, I might be buying more Christmas lights this weekend. *insert the biggest eye roll in the history of eye rolls*

I hope you have a great weekend and please check out this week’s Link-End Round-Up and the articles about dealing with holiday triggers.

I seriously can’t believe it’s December and this year is almost dunzo. Let me stop, because the thought is giving me anxiety.

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a Link-End Round-Up, but I was experiencing some technical issues. That’s the main reason I haven’t been posting, but also life has been doing the most. I guess that’s normal for this time of year.

I’ve been working on getting into the holiday spirit – I did get my tree up! Unfortunately, my tree isn’t sparking the same joy it did last year. I think I know why and what would fix it, which I’m going to try to do this weekend. Also, going to make sure my favorite Christmas movies are playing for inspiration. 😀

At the moment, my weekend plans include a possible nail appointment and going to see  Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance’ movie with my bestie. So far, it’s panning out to be a nice weekend. I hope you enjoy your weekend and check out the links in this week’s Link-End Round-Up. Honestly, I think all of these reads are really good.

Happy Friday! Can you believe this is the last Friday of October?! Madness, I tell you, madness! What’s your Halloween costume? I’m rocking my go-to costume of pajama pants and oversized t-shirt, because I was able to get myself out of having to go to Zoo Boo with my sister and nephew. 2 years in a row!!

I hope you had a good week! My week started with me having to take a sick day beause of a slight cold and sore thigh. What I thought old age showing up in my hip actually turned out to be a muscle pull from having my office chair raised up too high. Lesson learned. So, I’ve spent most of this week walking with a limp and massaging my thigh whenever I think about it.

My weekend plans may sound wild to some of y’all, but I think I might start pulling out my Christmas decorations. Now, don’t take this is as I’m putting them up! I’m just taking the boxes out of my storage and putting them in my dining room. I ended up buying a new and bigger tree last yer – after already putting up my old one. So, I don’t think I got to spend as much time with my new massive tree last year.

A week ago, I decided that I wanted to put  my tree up on November 1st, but I may have calmed down a little with that thought. However, I do think it will be up before Thanksgiving, because I’m ready to get into the holiday spirit. *Shrug* Plus, I don’t wan to take the chance the hustle and bustle of work and life overwhelms me and deters me from getting in the spirit.

While I decide on how early do I want to take on the Christmas 2023, please check out the reads in this week’s Link-End Round-Up.
