Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

After what felt like the longest month in the history of months, it’s finally February. February is a meaningful month to me for many reasons. My mom’s birthday is this month (17th), it’s Black History Month, and we’re so much closer to spring.

I just want spring to hurry up, because I’m sick of this bi-polar weather. First of all, I already have a hard time trying to pick out clothes the night before. So, being below freezing on one day and in the low 60s the next is for the birds and the reason everyone is sick.

I’m so ready for spring. I’ve already picked a weekend to do my spring cleaning and I’ve picked out the vibe I’m going for; minimalist on vacation. You should be able to get a view with some of the items on this month’s Lust-Have List. Keep reading to get all the deets!

Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

Although we are right smack dab in the middle of winter with all of it’s miserable cold weather, my mind is already starting to think about spring things. However, it’s just been too cold to fully visualize pretty floral chiffon tops and chic city sandals, yet. Plus, I’m still trying to hone in on my winter style vibes. Therefore, winter wants is still manifesting in my mind.

Ever since it started getting cold, I’ve been fighting the urge to wear a coat and layering pieces has been my jam. However, once the high for the days reached below freezing, I had to starting grabbing my coats from the back of the closet. It took a few days, but coats are cool with me once again.

For January, I’m all about about adding classic and timeless pieces to my wardrobe and experimenting with new beauty products. Keep reading to get all the glorious details about the items I’m wanting this month.

Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

The final Lust-Have List for 2017 is here! As you might be able to tell from this month’s list, I’m in full cozy mode. Surprisingly, December is going to be a little hectic for me.  This month, I have a couple of holiday parties to attend, catching up with some friends and family coming in town for the holidays, and the rest of my Christmas shopping.

For the moments when I don’t have anything planned, I plan to be snuggled up on one corner of my sofa, watching holiday movies while giving myself skincare treatments. I can’t wait! Therefore, you will notice that the majority of the items I’m wanting this month are mostly for laying around and I’m totally okay with that.

LUST-HAVE LIST: December 2017

• Dr. Martens Delphine Brogue Boots – I haven’t had a pair of Doc Marten boots in decades, but I notice they are coming back and with new styles. These brogue boots borrow the same style of brogue shoes with it’s masculine design. These would look so amazing paired with some straight-leg ankle trousers.
• Amped Fleece Throw Blanket – Yes, I want a new fleece throw, because my dogs confiscated the one that was previously on  my sofa. However, this one looks just as soft and perfect for cocooning in during an intense Netflix binge.
• Sunday Riley Juno Hydroactive Face Oil – My skin has been so dry and tired looking. So, I’ve been reaching for face oils more and more for my skin. This Sunday Riley face oil contains ingredients to help your skin look and feel hydrated and supple. I’ve yet to try a Sunday Riley face oil that let me down.
• Stance Pom Pom Over The Knee socks – Although these are over the knee socks, my big, stocky legs will make these the perfect knee highs for me. I’ve been loving the look of opaque socks over black stockings and paired with black boots. These could work for me.
• UGG Scuffette II Slippers – It’s time I invest in a good pair of slippers and Ugg slippers are the creme de la creme of slippers, to me. They are just a slipper version of Uggs and feel just as soft and comfy. They are pricier than the slippers I buy at Target, but I consider these a self-care purchase. 🙂

Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

We’re quickly lapping around to the finish line of 2017, which is crazy! Personally, I’m glad this year has been going by pretty fast, because it’s been such a stressful year. Everything from personal issues to global issues has me wondering my I don’t cradle a bottle of wine every night before bed. Either way, I’m still happy and appreciative to still be alive.

November is actually going to be a little busy for me. Aside from the obvious Thanksgiving holiday, my sister’s birthday is this month and one of my favorite people/friend is getting married this month. Also, I have to start preparing for the Christmas holiday shopping season, which is stressful.

Speaking of Christmas, people/stores keep rushing Christmas more and more every year. This year, there were some stores that had some Christmas decorations up in the beginning of September. I’m talking to you, Michaels. However, once November 1 hits, all the pumpkins turn to Santa Clauses and you hear Christmas music everywhere. Actually, this morning on my way to work, the old school hip hop station changed into a Christmas station overnight. Like…WTF?! And I don’t mean it went from playing old school hip hop to playing hip hop and R&B Christmas music. Nope, they were playing traditional Christmas music and my face was stuck on stupid and awe for about 2 songs just to make sure I wasn’t hearing things. Well, I guess November now marks the beginning of Christmas with a little Thanksgiving speed bump at the mid way point.

Anyway, for the past couple of months, I’ve been trying to step out of my basic and usual clothing options. So, you will notice that the things I’m wanting this months are items that are not that simple or basic, but I’m loving them.

LUST-HAVE LIST: November 2017

• Jeffrey Campbell Bollero Scarf Loafers – I was browsing for a pair of shiny loafers, but ran across these shiny loafers with the satin scarf detail. These will look amazing paired with black ankle trousers and black crew top.
• Ouai Rose Hair and Body Oil – As you know, I love a good body oil. I’ve been wanting to try some products from Ouai for a moment and I think this is going to be the first one. Plus, it makes you smell like roses from head to toe.
• Coloured Faux Fur Trim Parka – This bright yellow faux fur trim parka called my name. I love that it looks fun and chic and the same time.
• Oversized Envelope Clutch Bag – It’s clutch bag season. An oversized clutch is must-have piece to help transition from work to after hours holiday parties.
• We’re Going To Need More Wine book by Gabrielle Union – I always feel guilty buying new books when I already have plenty that are unread. However, I’ve been hearing great things about this book from Gabrielle Union and she’s one of my favs. Plus, can you really have too many books? I don’t think so.

Here in Memphis, it sometimes takes a little longer for it to feel and look like fall. However, this weekend, it was fall and I’m here for it. For the past couple of months, I’ve been aspiring to be a little more “out there” and “extra”. I pretty much want to step outside my comfort level, which probably won’t last long. October seems like a perfect month to try something new, before you have to focus on all the annual holidays and festivities.

So, I’m starting my October feeling a little fearful, but optimistic that I’m going to learn some stuff. I love learning new stuff, especially when it’s new stuff about me. Anyway, keep reading to see the list of items I’m currently crushing on for this month.
