eSTYLIST: Easter Outfit 2016

One of the main things I miss from my childhood (the first one will always be ‘No bills’) is my mom buying my brother and I new outfit for holidays, especially a new Easter outfit. My Easter outfit usually included a big fluffy dress with a bow somewhere, a big lace sock, shiny, white patent leather shoes (my fav), and white straw-like hat with a ribbon (my least fav). Unfortunately, a single woman with no kids, my adult Easter outfits have been mostly pastel suits or shift dress. They’re my go-to since, I rarely ever wear them again…just like my childhood Easter outfits. Some things never change.

As those of you who received my weekly email (Sign-up in the sidebar), I always include a weekly eStylist post that’s reflective of my “style vibes” of the moment. I recently asked that if you’ve had questions of concerns about styling an item, to ask me. Well, someone recently asked me about this satin pleat midi skirt and how to style it for Easter. I thought it would be great to keep it youthful and feminine by pairing it with a bright floral print, but demure accessories. She (Hi, Nadine!) loved it! So, I thought that I would share it as an inspiration for an Easter outfit 2016, in case you were still looking for inspirations and suggestions.

If you’re not a fan of the bare shoulders look, you can easily switch it with a simple fitted white tee or cover up with a light and feminine white vest, jacket, or even light scarf. Options are a girl’s real best friend!!

TGIF!!

This week was kind of a long, drawn-out blur, because I don’t remember much that happen and what did happened seemed like it happened weeks ago. I guess this week was very…eh. The weather this weekend is supposed to be amazing enough to write home about…or at least Instagram worthy shots. So, there’s that.

I’m setting a small challenge for myself this weekend to not spend any money. Not one dirty penny. I’ve been experimenting with my habits and ways I can improve or if they are bad, eliminate them. The main habits I’ve been focusing on is my health and finances, which have both been an uphill struggle for me in the past. However, since I’ve been doing a lot of self-assessing, those things have been getting better. For example, I lost 10 pounds over the past month or so just by changing my eating habits. No exercise, just omitting bad things, eating healthier, and being more conscious about what I eat. It’s definitely a lifestyle change that pays off over time. Now that weather is acting right, I’m going to add cardio/walking to the mix and sit back and see how that helps. I think I’m going to cover more of that in this week’s newsletter. FYI – you can sign-up for that via the form in the sidebar.

All in all, I’m happy, (a little) healthier, and hopeful about my life and you should, too. Have an awesome weekend and enjoy this week’s.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: March 11, 2016

Yes, it’s Friday and we made it to another Link-End Round-Up.

Here in my area, it’s been raining for what seems like 40 days and 40 night, but realistically about 3 days and it’s not expected to end for another day or two. Plus, when I say “rain”, please envision the buckets and buckets of raining constantly pouring down and flooded streets. We’re experiencing record levels of rain and all I want to do is watch Netflix (because this rain won’t let my satellite be great) and have  my down comforter engulf me this weekend.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and see ya next week!

It’s Friday, which means Link-End Round time!

I hope everyone had an awesome week. Mine was pretty calm compared to last week…thankfully. Although the weather was all over the place this week, the forecast for this weekend looks amazing! I plan to partake in some solo cruising around my city again and maybe even try to take my dogs to the dog park. They haven’t been in a long time.

Spring is only a couple of weeks away and this nice weather is just getting me more amped, including getting my ideal spring wardrobe together. I’ve already bought plenty of shoes and have every necessary spring shoes for the season. Now, I need to starting buying spring-worthy clothes!

First thing I need to find and buy is a new pair of boyfriend jeans that aren’t too shapeless or too snug. As I’ve gotten older and my body shape fluctuates (not in the good way), shopping for jeans has become one of my least favorite things to shop and buy.

I miss the days of shopping in the mall for hours and buying jeans just based off the color and style. Now a days, there are just too many other elements to take in to consideration. It’s a hassle and hopefully I will be able to scratch that hassle off my list this weekend. *le sigh*

I might share my jean buying burden story on Instagram or Twitter. So follow me over there and coddle me through the struggle.

Have an awesome weekend and enjoy this week’s Link-End Round-Up.

LUST-HAVE LIST: March 2016

This year is going by pretty fast, because March crept up on me even with the extra day in February. However, the sudden burst of warm weather with mostly sunny skies have been much appreciated.

For example, this past weekend was borderline picture perfect. On Saturday, after leaving Target, I took a very impromptu drive around my city. I went completely out of my way to get home and stumbled across idylic street that looked like there were pulled from wholesome sitcoms of yesteryears and even drove through areas that hold special memories in my heart. If the weather is just as nice this upcoming weekend, I plan to do that again. It was so nice and relaxing.

Oh, the Lust-Have List! Like I’ve said before, when the weather gets warmer, I start to gravitate more toward things that are convenient and comfy, which includes style and beauty. You will notice that the items in this month’s Lust-Have List are items that will enhance my desire low-key and relaxed life.

LUST-HAVE LIST: March 2016

  • Bb. Curl (Style) Anti-Humidity Gel-Oil – Now that the weather is getting consistently warmer, I’ve been wearing my natural curls more. I love gel-oil formula skin products, but I’ve never tried a gel-oil hair product for curly hair. So, this has me intrigued.
  • Pink Leather Crossbody Bag – I’m so obsessed over this blush crossbody bag! Perfect for spring.
  • Commodity Cocktail Kit – Mixing different fragrances is one of my little joys in life. So, I appreciate little kits like this one from Commodity that features various scents so you can create your own different scent everyday.
  • Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 Sir Tom Baker – I’m rarely a fan of all black sneakers, let alone in the spring. However, this limited edition Sir Tom Baker Chuck Taylor are so amazing and want them so bad!
  • Ribbed Skater Dress – When the weather warms, I’m such a put it on a go type of girl. Well, more than usual. So, this skater dress I spotted over at ASOS is the perfect piece for an easy and casual look. I can pair it with sandals and a cardigan for work or white sneakers and a denim jacket for a casual weekend.

P.S.
