eSTYLIST: THANKSGIVING OUTFIT 2015

thanksgiving-2015-outfit-stained-couture

Here I am, bright eyed and bushy tail on this Monday morning, super happy that I’m finally fully in the holiday spirit and just in time for Thanksgiving.

Like I’ve previously pointed out, I usually spend my Thanksgiving as a guest, and this year is no different. This year I only have two destinations: my dad’s house and my brother’s in-laws. Therefore, the only thing I have to worry about is what too wear, which can be very tricky.

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that’s mainly family, but can also include random family friends and friends of friends coming by a.k.a strangers. However, depending on the way the day go, those strangers might become new friends or “boo” (wink, wink).

Therefore, your turkey day can be too casual (read; sweats and tee) or too over the top, because you know…dribbles happen. So, you have the pick outfit that has the comfort and give for a possible expanding belly AND still look put together.

For me, this year, I think I going to reach for this corduroy skirt that has been collecting age in the back of my closet. It’s perfect, because it’s dark and has the right amount of elastic around the waist. I’m going to pair it with a billowy top and maybe some black tights and flats or tall boots. Still a toss up. Very simple, but a little vampy.

This weekend I plan to finally attempt to get into the holiday spirit, because I feel so behind. Everywhere I look, people are putting up Christmas lights and I even know a few people who have already put up their tree. Although it seems a little premature to me, I will try to buy a few festive decor items or the bare minimum of finalizing a color scheme.

Since I spend all my Thanksgivings as a guest, I don’t have to worry about cooking anything. So, the prepping I have to do for Thanksgiving is to eat light meals to prepare my mind and body for the abundance of food I will inhale on Thursday.

Here is this week’s Link-End Round-Up. Enjoy, have an amazing weekend, and see you on Monday! Let’s meet here! 😉

We are less than 2 weeks away from Thanksgiving and the stores have already decorated to make it feel like we are in Christmas wonderland. Sheesh.

So, my holiday loving sister is dead set on finding and buying a new (fake)Christmas tree this weekend. She wants at least 7ft, which is a cute little upgrade from our trusty, but whimpy 6ft one that’s been holding us down for the past few Christmases. So, we’re Christmas tree shopping this weekend. eh.

As usual, I hope you all have a great weekend and here is this week’s Link-End Round-Up:

Currently, I’m in slowly creeping toward the end of a sinus infection I’ve been dealing with the past few day. However, with the right medication, it’s almost over.

As usual, I plan to have a very chill weekend. I might squeeze in a trip to my dad’s house to feast on some west African meals and catch up and a little cleaning out my house in preparations for the holiday season. Still, the focus is to have a peaceful weekend.

So, please enjoy these links that I equally enjoyed this past week.
