LUST-HAVE LIST: February 2015

LHL_feb2015

Although February is the shortest month of the year, it’s packed with a lot of things such as President’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and it’s Black History Month. For me, it’s also the month of my mom’s birthday and this is her first birthday that she isn’t here. So, my brother, sister, and I have decided to start the tradition of going to one of her favorite restaurants each year to celebrate her birthday, which makes us happy.

This month, I’m not really into a lot, but there are few things that have peaked my interest. Go take a look!

  • Rebecca Minkoff ‘Leo’ Clutch – Rebecca Minkoff Leo Clutch is available in plenty of colors and a few prints, but this bubblegum pink is very pretty and perfect for a Valentine’s Day date and perfect for when Spring finally hits.
  • Too Faced Bronzer Wardrobe – I’m on the hunt for a new bronzer and Too Faced Bronzer Wardrobe instantly peaked my interest due to the fact that its 3 different bronzers packages into one box, which is great for coutouring.
  • Boucle’ and Patent Leather Nike Air Max 1  – So, I’m getting back into sneakers, but unique and colorful ones. Different in some way. A boucle and patent leather Air Max 1? Why, yes..all the yeses in the world.
  • Le Creuset Tea for One Set – When I was sick last month, I became obsessed with hot tea. Even when I finally got over the flu, I still kept drinking hot tea 2-3 times a day. I love drinking hot tea while getting ready and this tea set for one is super cute and convenient.

LUST-HAVE LIST: January 2015

LHL_jan2015

January is speeding by and I’m happy about that, because my 2015 got off to a really bumpy start including the flu and totaling my car and having to go buy another one this past weekend.

So, after having to take an extra week off to deal with…life, for a lack of better words, I’m back with my January 2015 Lust-Have List.

This month, I’m really into classic pieces with trendy detail, be it a clean shape with bright color or traditional style with an edgy feel. Check it out below.

  • Ray ban Oversize Clubmaster Shades – I’ve been lusting for these shades for the past few months and I think I’m going to go ahead and buy them this month. yolo.
  • Cover FX Illuminating Primer – The hunt for an awesome primer is ever going and this new illuminating one from Cover FX seems like a great contender.
  • Layered Tassel Necklace – I think I’m entering my jewelry phase, because I’ve been wearing more jewelry other than my watch again and I realize I need more long, dainty necklaces. I love the small tassels on this one from Forever 21.
  • Saffiano Satchel – A classic shoulder bag in a bright mustard bag is nice unexpected piece in the winter. It looks great paired with all the colors of winter; red, green, and even blue.
  • Cut-out Buckled Tan Leather Booties – Not only do love the style of this bootie, but the soft grey, tan color is nice finish up winter and carry you right into spring.

WEEKEND AT HOME: Starbucks ‘Coldbuster’ Tea

starbucks_coldbuster_secret

It’s definitely flu season, because my sister and I have blowing our noses repeatedly all week. So, this weekend, we plan to lounge on the sofa and watch Christmas movies all day to rest ourselves.

Luckily, all my issues have been just ‘nasal’, but I felt my throat getting a little itchy and knew that was body’s way of telling me I need to put on my boxing gloves and fight off a cold. Well, I knew I needed to soothe my throat and the best way I know to do this is with a big warm cup of tea. However, my laziness made me wondered did Starbucks have a tea that was good for soothing an itchy throat other than my usual go-to Zen green tea.

After a quick Google search, I was introduced to Starbucks’ ‘The Coldbuster’ tea which combines peppermint, chamomile, and steamed lemonade. As soon as I sipped this tea, my body instantly felt calm, soothe, and oddly refreshed (Thanks, Peppermint). Also, my sister who was feeling worse than me, felt the same afterwards, too. Aside for the feels, the tea even tastes awesome!

If it wasn’t for the fact that the instructions for the barista a little tedious to give over the drive-thru intercom, I would order this almost everyday.

So, the next time you are dealing with a cold or feel one coming on, might a suggest you run this recipe to your nearest barista.

  • Venti Cup w/ a bag of Refresh Tea (mint) and a bag of Calm Tea (chamomile)
  • Add half hot water and half steamed lemonade
  • Add a little honey for its anti-microbial effects
  • Optional: Add a pump of peppermint

LUST-HAVE LIST: December 2014

LHL_dec2014

December is finally here! Let me be honest and pretty much say that the my December LHL is pretty much my Christmas wishlist. So…

Dear Santa,

  • Shiseido Foundation Brush – Flat top foundation brushes are, hands down, my fav makeup brush. They apply, blend, and buff awesomely flawless foundation. So, after having to replace my $3 ELF one for the third time in 1 year due to shedding, I feel that I need to be true “responsible adult” in regards to this issue and invest in a new and durable one. My research, a.k.a 5-minute Google search, lead me to this Shiseido one as being perfect!
  • UGG Diamond Quilted Boots – Hate ’em or love ’em, UGGS don’t appear to be going anywhere, anytime soon. So, I’ve yet to replace my UGGs that I had to retire last year and I’m glad I haven’t, because I’m obsessed with these quilted pair I spotted on Nordstrom.com. I think I might have found my Christmas gift to myself.
  • ASOS Holographic Shift Dress – The epitome of a fun and festive party dress! A holographic leopard print dress seems appropriate.
  • Rhinestone Double Ring – A pretty ‘ruby’ rhinestone double ring that can carry you from Christmas parties to Valentine’s Day dinner dates.
  • Icon Leather Doctor’s Tote – Bae.
