Happy Friday and first Link-End Round-Up of April 2019!

How has your first week of April been going? For me and most of the people I know, it didn’t start off on a good note with the sad killing of rapper/activist Nipsey Hussle. It was tragedy and left a lot of people with an unsettling feeling. Even I, who occasionally listened to his music, felt off for a few days. He had reached a point in his life in which he was becoming more than a rapper. He was become voice for a generation and people. In his short 33 years on earth, he has created a legacy that I know is going to keep on. I know it.

For the majority of the week, my productivity was coming in short waves. Now that I’m working for myself, I’m still trying to figure out and design my ideal work week schedule. I would like to designate certain days to do certain things, because I like consistency. Hopefully, my days will take more form over the next week or so.

I hope you all have a good and relaxing weekend Also, don’t forget to prep on Sunday to have a productive week. Trust me, I’m saying this myself, too. I hope you enjoy the reads in this week’s Link-End Round-Up!

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2019

Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2019 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy April! March was definitely a season for me, but I think it was actually the slap in the face that I needed. Therefore, I’m so ready to hit the ground running and I’m super excited. However, I’m still in the building stages of this new chapter and have so many things I need to do. I’m pacing myself, but not waiting to have “everything” in check.

Today is April Fools Day and I’ve always hated this day, because it’s stupid!! Can you tell I’ve fallen for a lot of April Fools pranks in my life? Whatevs.

This month, the first full month of spring, I’m all about simple everyday things, but with a little extraness.

LUST-HAVE LIST: April 2019

  • Red Rouge Lip Tint, $12, Sephora – I randomly picked up one of the lip tints from Sephora’s collection and surprisingly impressed. The payoff and longevity of the tint on my lips made me want to try others shades.
  • Mar Y Sol Zadie Backpack, $150, Shopbop –  This raffia backpack is a need for spring and summer and the marigold color is just perfect.
  • Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum, $85, Sephora – I think I’m ready to add retinol back to my skincare routine and I want to start with this new offering from Sunday Riley. Although it’s a high dose, I have plenty of ultra moisturizing moisturizers.
  • Gold Wrap Sandals, $68, TopShop – A thin, strappy pair of gold wrap sandals? Yes, please!
  • Linnmon/ Alex Desk, $129, Ikea – Since I mainly freelance now, I mostly work from home and need to set up my home office. First item? This desk from Ikea, which I plan to go check out this week. Hopefully, it will look the same in-person as online.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: March 29, 2019

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Happy Friday, fellow humans! We’ve made it to another Friday and it’s the final Friday of the month.

How did March treat you? Hopefully a little better than mine. However, it’s wrapping up pretty decently and I’m excited for this new adventure I’m about to take. More on that at a later date.

I’m currently reevaluating my goals and future, which has me in heavy prayer. Also, I’m fasting off of a few things, which always helps me focus. I’ve said it before, but it’s worth mentioning again that fasting is beneficial on many levels. The next time you’re going through a difficult season, fast off of just one thing that has unhealthy results. Social media, alcohol, and sugar are just some good examples of things to try to fast off of and see the benefits.

Plans for the weekend? Oh, your girl doesn’t have any obligations and I’m so excited! However, I am going to go over my sister’s house (my old place) to help her spring clean the house, because it needs a deep cleanse. Not to mention, I still have quite a bit of stuff still there that I need to move out. Ugh. I’m horrible, but I’ve moving things out slowly everyday.

Back to you. I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful spring weather, if it’s going to make appearance in your neck of the woods. This Memphis weather has been breathtaking and I’ve been super appreciative of it. Thanks, Mother Nature!
