eSTYLIST: Holiday Office Party

It’s that time of the year when you step away form your dwindling inbox and meet the rest of your coworkers for some good company-funded holiday cheer. When dressing for a holiday party, no matter how much fun you plan to have, you still have to mindful that you are at a work event. So, festive, but professional should be the goal. This is the type of even made for your favorite LBD that’s not too short, ladies. Add some glitzy accessories and red lip and you have the perfect office-friendly holiday office party look.

eSTYLIST: Holiday Office Party 2018

One thing to keep in mind when dressing for any office event, either show arms or legs. Also, nothing too low cut in the front nor back. Even though it’s a fun holiday party, it’s still a work event. So, treat it as such. Personally, I tend to show my chunky legs rather than my chunky arms. That’s just me, but if I wasn’t so insecure about my arms, I feel sleeveless would be a better option for work.

Beauty wise, I would do a nice sleek ponytail and minimal makeup. Maybe, just maybe, I would add a smoky eye or bold lip. Since this look features a simple little black dress, I accessorized it with some sequin pumps, a glittery mini clutch, and some oversized black hoops. This look can also work for any New Year Eve parties, as well. Keep reading to get all the details and shopping information about the pieces I featured.

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: December 14, 2018 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy Friday! I’m out of the office until December 18, which means posts are about to get really scarce around here. However, I feel like I say this every year around this time, but still post 2-3 times a week. So, we’ll see.

I’ve been spending these last few lazy days of 2018 binging all the Christmas movies on Hallmark, the super cheesy ones on Netflix, and some classic Christmas specials and cartoons on Hulu. Needless to say, I’ve been enjoying all this downtime. Despite all this downtime, I’ve still yet to crack the majority of my Christmas shopping. Although I would love to do some this weekend, but I have to serve at the my church’s Christmas program on Saturday night and on Sunday. Not to mention, it’s supposed to be raining most of the weekend.

Typically, around this time of year, I start to wish that the year would hurry up and end all ready. For the most part, I’m ready for 2019, but I still have a couple of things that I would like to complete before the clock strikes midnight on January 1st. *fingers crossed*

I hope you all have a great weekend filled with Christmas movies buried deep in the Netflix Christmas movies section and trays of Christmas cookies. Ooh, I should bake some Christmas cookies this weekend! Well, hopefully, I can find some time to bake some cookies this weekend.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: December 7, 2018 | STAINED COUTURE

Wait…this is the first Link-End Round-Up of December?! Am I the only one who feels like it has been December for a couple of weeks now? It’s probably due to the fact that we had another week after Thanksgiving before December. You know once Thanksgiving ends, it’s all about Christmas. So, maybe that’s why it feels like it’s the middle of December instead of the first week of December.

Earlier this week, I started cashing out some of the remainder of my vacation/personal days. I had 9.5 days left, which was mind-blowing, at time. Unfortunately, I had to get real strategic with scheduling my days off, because my manager will be taking 2 weeks off when her wife has their baby. Also, my other co-worker had already put in to be out at Christmas and not return until the new year. However, I was able to figure out to use 7 of the days off, but I still have 2.5 to use, which I will break in case of emergency.

I did half a day on Wednesday and Thursday, but took all of today off. Since I’m still searching for a new apartment, that’s what I did yesterday and plan to do some more looking today. It forgot how difficult it is to look for an apartment that meets all your wants, needs, and budget. However, I’m feeling optimistic…for now.

Anyway, here’s to an amazing and abundant weekend of rest and relaxation.
