ITEM OF THE WEEK: Dead Soxy No Show Socks | STAINED COUTURE

In the summer, I have a love/hate relationship with socks. I don’t like the look of socks with most of the shoes I wear in the summer, except for an occasional frilly sock. However, I no longer like the feel of my bare feet in shoes. I tried no show and “invisible” socks in the past, but they always found a way to slide off my heel by mid-day. In the end, I would rather wear no socks rather than having to dig my sock up over my heel ever other hour. However, that was until I tried Deadsoxy No Show socks. #GameChanger

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: July 20, 2018 | STAINED COUTURE

Well, this week started off with a bust, because I came down with a gnarly upper respiratory infection on Monday. So, I spent most of this week sprawled on various cushioned areas in my house breathing only through my mouth. Personally, my least favorite part of being sick is nasal congestion. It feels like my brain is drowning in my head and I’m going to run out of air. Actually, I have a fear of drowning, albeit in water or mucus. I’m not completely back to 100%, but I’m at a strong 90%.

Since I took 2 sick days off from work, I plan to make one of them up this weekend. I enjoy coming into the office on the weekend, because I’m usually the only one here. Also, I can hammer through a lot of stuff pretty quickly. I’m planning to do 4 hours on Saturday and 4 more on Sunday.

Another thing I’m doing tomorrow is looking at venues for my sister’s baby boy shower. She going to plop out my new nephew in less than 3 months. So, we have to get this shindig in order, because she wants to have it in mid-September. July is almost over, which means September will be here next weekend. Well, it’s going to feel that way.

Other than, I’m going to try to lay low most of the weekend, because I want to get back to 100%. Also, I have so many posts that I want/need to share with ya’ll. Everything will be better next week…right?! Let’s say it will be better.

IOTW: Vichy Mineral Clay Mask | STAINED COUTURE

As usual, I’ve been obsessing over skincare products. However, now that the weather is sizzling, my oily skin and enlarged pores have been getting all of my attention. Since I’ve been taking better care of my skin by trying to eat better and drinking more water, my skin is looking pretty good. Unfortunately, all the freshest veggies and gallons of water can’t hide the fact that I have large pores. FYI, you can’t permanently make your large pores smaller. Through different products and treatments, you can minimize their appearance. One product that recently ran across and fell in love with is Vichy Mineral Pore Purifying Clay Mask. Interested in learning why this mask is worthy to be this week’s Item of The Week and/or you’re looking for a mask for oily skin? Well, keep reading!

Link-End Round-Up: July 13, 2018 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy Friday the 13th! Even though I’m super grown, I still get a little uneasy feeling about Friday the 13th. However, I do enjoy spending the evening indulging in watching Friday the 13th movies while eating popcorn and sipping wine.

However, I might be a little late to my solo horror movie marathon, because I have a last minute hair appointment after work. Ever since I’ve lightened my hair, it’s been feeling super dry. I’ve bought so many different products to help soften my hair and even a few DIY treatments. However, nothing has worked to help soften my hair since going lighter. Thankfully, I haven’t noticed much, if any, breakage. So, praying hands emoji to that miracle. After typing a mini rant on my IC stories, my stylist hit me up to do a treatment on my hair tonight. Hopefully, this will help me enjoy my hair instead of regretting it. *fingers crossed*

My plans for the weekend include staying in the house and under an air vent at all times. I’m sure I’m going to get wrangled into helping my sister do some more baby shower planning. Ugh. I’m sorry, but baby shower planning is not my idea of a good time, but I love my sister. So, I guess I can swallow my gloom and attempt to help.

Have a great weekend and enjoy this week’s Link-End Round-Up.

ITEM OF THE WEEK | Creme of Nature Perfect Edges On The Go

This summer’s heat has been pretty unbearable most days. Having to deal with sweltering humidity, keeping the A/C on all day, and pushing my natural deodorant to the limits is exhausting. However, one area in my life that has been tested repeatedly by this heat is my hair line a.k.a my edges. First off, the hair on my hairline is a lot courser than the rest of my hair. So, even the slightest mist of moisture makes it frizz up. Thankfully, there are plenty of products to help us keep our hairlines slick and in formation.

Unfortunately, this heat has been testing even the strongest of gels and edge control. One a recent sticky hot summer day, my edges started to loosen, lift, and unravel by noon. Therefore, on my lunch break, I raced to the nearest drugstore where I picked up this gem; Perfect Edges On The Go. When I tell you this little tube has saved me from looking like wet rat by the hairline of plently of occasions, you wouldn’t believe me. However, keep reading to see why this is my Item of The Week!
