Happy Friday! I hope you had a great week with plans to have an even greater weekend. In case you can tell from the spring in words, I’m in great spirits! I’m super happy, because today is 4/20, but not for the reason you think. Actually, 420 is my angel number, which is the number that I identify that my angels guides are talking to me. I know, sounds super trippy. However, whenever I’m looking for a sign about something currently on heart and mind, I feel that I get the answer whenever I see “420”. Typically, your angel number is any sequence of numbers you see often and for me it was 420. If you interested in learning more about angel numbers and their meanings, visit this site.

A couple of weeks after spending the previous weeks drowning in pending due dates and life, my boss granted everyone on my team a bonus day. A few days after, still reeling from the previous weeks, I said a quick prayer asking when I should take a mental health day. I decided to open my calendar and blindly picked a day and my finger landed smack dab on April 4. If that wasn’t a sign, then I don’t know what is? So, I’m spending today unplugged from people, for the most part, and to do some mindlessly pleasing activities. For example, I have some art projects I want to work on and to place my plants outside for awhile to get a little sunlight with me. Also, there might be some sips of wine will catching a breeze with 90s R&B playing and incense lit. Chilling.

Currently, I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to attend the Memphis Hot Wing festival tomorrow. It’s going to be on Tiger Lane this year instead of downtown, which means I won’t have to deal with downtown parking. Plus, it’s less than a 5-minute drive from my house. Me going is really just contingent on the weather being kind and my energy being high. *fingers crossed*

I feel like I was extra chatty in this week’s Link-End Round-Up, but I had the energy. Well, here’s the surviving another week and an amazingly great weekend. Cheers!

First of all, it’s Friday the 13th! Therefore, I plan to partake in my usual Friday 13th activity; binge the first 3 installments of Friday the 13th. It’s a tradition at this point.

How as your week? Mine was all over the place. Luckily, work has been going by pretty smoothly now that we finally wrapped up those projects that were running into my weekends. However, I am going to miss those coins on my paycheck from all of the overtime, because I had to buy 2 new tires this week. It was long overdue and something I meant to handle months ago. Thankfully, it was brought to my attention during a oil change and not because I blew out a tire doing 80 on the interstate. #Blessed

So, as for my plans for the weekend? Other than serving at church; my plans are very minimal plans and I’m going to enjoy it. This is the first weekend in months where I don’t have any possible hectic plans and obligations. The weather is suppose kind of cold and cloudy, which means I will be hibernating. Seriously, when is spring going to spring, because I’m over random cold days. This bi-polar weather is playing with my emotions and daily outfit selections.

However, I do need to fall through someone’s nail shop to get a long overdue pedicure. I’ve been neglecting those little piggies for too long and they are starting to share their disdain with me.

ITEM OF THE WEEK: Complexion Sponge

ITEM OF THE WEEK is a weekly series on Stained Couture that highlights a product we’re currently loving. This week: Real Techniques Complexion Sponge and travel case.

Item of the Week Complexion Sponge

It took me a long time to jump on using sponges for applying makeup. After all, I learned to apply makeup using brushes and if it’s not broke why fix it. However, I did give makeup sponges so many chances and have the collection of teardrop shaped sponges to prove it. Thankfully, I never gave up on finding a makeup sponge, which lead me to my favorite makeup tool; Real Techniques Complexion Sponge.

Happy April! Well, this came pretty fast, because March felt like it zoomed by. Actually, I don’t mind, because I’m craving for all of the spring vibes. I might even bite the bullet and drag my introverted self to a festival or 2. Yep, it’s festival season and I’m not sure if I’m ready or not. I guess that’s something for me to work on in the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of work. Although March felt fast, this week felt pathetically long. I took Monday and Tuesday off to recoup from Easter Weekend a.k.a Superbowl weekend for Christians. I served all weekend and was pooped by Sunday evening. However, I was able to get my hair highlighted on Tuesday, followed by having some BBQ for lunch in celebration. As I mentioned in my post about awesome deep conditioners, I still have one more session in June to complete the process. After having my hair dyed black for a couple of years is coming back to kick me hard in the butt. However, lesson learned and next time I want to go darker, I’ll go dark brown.

I feel like things are getting back to normal and I don’t have any new appointments or commitments for the next couple of weeks. So, I’m going to use these next couple of weeks to regroup and refocus on my goals; short-term and long-term. First of all, everyone needs goals; something to aspire. Also, it’s good to revisit those goals every so often, because sometimes things you once wanted are no longer a priority. Visiting your goals once or twice a year is a good idea to make sure you’re still on the right path.

As for my weekend, I plan to just chill. That’s all I plan to do and I’m so looking forward to doing it to the best of my powers. Have a great weekend and let’s chat some more next week.
