LINK-END ROUND-UP: January 12, 2018

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Link-End Round-Up January 12, 2018

I’m so over this week. This week wasn’t bad or stressful, but it wasn’t very productive. I did a lot of talking and collaborating, but everything fell flat in the end. Not to mention, the weather has been very gloomy and unseasonable warm. Well, up until today, which is 30 degrees colder than yesterday. We even got some slight winter weather, which should be gone by the end of the day. *fingers crossed*

My plans for this weekend are very chill; literally and figuratively. Since the cold weather is back for awhile, I plan to get back into hibernation mode on the weekends. I’m telling you, streaming my life away in my warm bed with thermos of hot coffee or chai tea latte has been my go-to vibe this winter.

Hopefully, next week I will feel and be a little more productive, because it wasn’t popping this week. Still, I hope you all have an awesome weekend and check back next week to see if I get it together.

Happy New Year! Hopefully, that will be the last time someone says that you, because someone has wished me a happy new year every day this week. However, I guess I can’t complain, because my new has started off pretty good. As usual, I love fresh starts and a new year is one of the ultimate fresh starts you can have. The beginning of a new year stirs ambition and hope in most of us, because it feels like a clean break and chance to start a new.

Earlier this week, I shared what I’m looking to work on this year. Personally, I gave up resolutions years ago, because they felt like they were made to crash in a fiery glory 2 days later. However, when you want to make “changes” in your life, it doesn’t seem so matter of fact. When you change, it’s usually consists of you evolving over time and without a deadline. Also, when you are evolving and fall off, you feel that you can easily pick yourself and get back on board or start over. So, change is better than resolutions.

In that same post, I touched on my career plans a little bit, but it was more “ranty” than affirming. Eh. Anyway, this year, I want to get back to my roots in digital marketing, writing, and overall content creating for brands and small businesses. Even as a side gig, but I know my brain is missing coming up with new ideas and putting them into fruition. So, that’s something that’s been on my heart and mind, which I will continue to pray on. #PrayersUp

Well, here’s to an amazing first week of 2018 and let’s keep the positive vibes flowing and flooding our lives.

Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

Lust-have List January 2018

Although we are right smack dab in the middle of winter with all of it’s miserable cold weather, my mind is already starting to think about spring things. However, it’s just been too cold to fully visualize pretty floral chiffon tops and chic city sandals, yet. Plus, I’m still trying to hone in on my winter style vibes. Therefore, winter wants is still manifesting in my mind.

Ever since it started getting cold, I’ve been fighting the urge to wear a coat and layering pieces has been my jam. However, once the high for the days reached below freezing, I had to starting grabbing my coats from the back of the closet. It took a few days, but coats are cool with me once again.

For January, I’m all about about adding classic and timeless pieces to my wardrobe and experimenting with new beauty products. Keep reading to get all the glorious details about the items I’m wanting this month.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: December 22, 2017

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Link-End Round-Up December 22, 2017

Well, we’re finally in the final stretch of 2017 and I thought it would never get here. A couple of weeks ago, I felt like people were being too premature with their Christmas spirit. Now, my Christmas spirit is sky high and I’m ready for Christmas to be over. Honestly, I love this time of year and love the festive feels. However, I’m ready to purge and detox my environment and it’s hard to do that when there are gifts in every closet. #FirstWorldProblems

This year, I’m spending Christmas at my stepmom and dad’s house with my siblings, which is something that hasn’t happened in decades. I’m not sure if he’s trying to start a new tradition, but I’m here for it. However, I still have a few more gifts to get, which is all for guys. I’m telling you, shopping for men is so hard for me, but I think I know what I’m getting each of them. I just need to actually go and get them…on the last weekend before Christmas. Ugh.

Finally, this is the last Link-End Round-Up of 2017, because I’m taking next week off from the blog to do some digital deep cleaning. Also, I would like to use that time reflect on the past year and plan for the upcoming year. I highly recommend for you to take the final week of the year to wind down and recharge. It will help you be more prepared and open for all the things that the upcoming year has in store for you.

So, this is probably the last post for the year unless I feel like I have to share something with ya’ll. If not, have a happy holiday season and see you next year! 😉

eSTYLIST: Christmas 2017

Usually, for Christmas, I tend to dress very casual in the form of leggings, boots, and loose fitting top. However, this year, I decide to be a little festive and feminine. I scored a cute burgundy dress from Nordstrom Rack a couple of weeks ago that’s also really comfy. However, I’m still not sure what shoes to wear, which sucks. I was torn between knee high boots or lace-up booties, but now I’m also considering fur-lined mules and thigh high stretch boots. So many decision and so little time. In this year’s eStylist Christmas post, I mixed some feminine details with festive colors and fun textures.
