Is this seriously the last LERU of September?! Man, September came and is going fast. However, I’m not complaining, because fall is officially here as of today. Ya’ll, fall is may favorite season and I’m so happy it’s back. Unfortunately, the cool, crisp fall weather is running a little behind, but a cool front is on the way. Come on light cardigan, plaid tops, and cute booties weather.

Last night was the first night of my church’s yearly women’s conference, Zoe Conference, which is a 3 day event for women to come together and celebrate each other and all the things God has planned for us. It’s one of the events I look forward to each year, because I always leave feeling empowered and appreciative of everything in my life and what’s to come. Who wouldn’t want that feeling?

Today is night 2, which is usually followed by a super lit (do the kids still say this?) after party that includes DJ-ed music, a dance floor, and food trucks. So, needless to say, I’m looking forward to tonight.

After tonight, my weekend will be back to “pretty chill” with hours spent loafing on the sofa binge watching Game of Thrones. I’m halfway through season 6 and I’m so mad it took me seven seasons to get catch on to this wave (Again, do the kids still say this?). It’s so good!

I hope you have an amazing weekend and let’s chat some more next week.

So glad that it’s finally Friday. Last week was an absolute stress fest, because it was super hectic. This week, my productivity had a hard time peaking. I even took a personal day on Wednesday to just chill. Recently, I my daily and weekly schedule got a little shake up, which isn’t bad. However, there were too many shakeups and I finally realized that I one has to give. So, I’m trying to work that out with the other people involved to find a common ground. Hopefully, we will be able to work that out this weekend. *fingers crossed*

Speaking of this weekend, there are so many things happening this weekend around Memphis. All of the fall festivals and fairs are happening, but introvert me is just trying to get in and out of Sephora to test the Fenty Beauty foundations. I hope they have my shade left. I would’ve ordered it online, but I believe in trying new foundations out in person. Unfortunately, I just haven’t had the time to go this week, but I have to do it this weekend. Also, I need to find a new eyelash curler. Well, I need to invest in a better one and leaning towards the Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curler. All the reviews I read online makes me believe this is the one my straight lashes need.

Hopefully, I will get more comfortable with my new schedule by the end of next week. I can’t complain, because I wanted my life to get uncomfortable. Getting uncomfortable stirs up new things in your life. So, this might be a good thing…eventually.

Here’s to an amazing weekend and let’s chat some more next week.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: September 8, 2017

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Although this was a short work week, it felt like it wouldn’t end. Seriously, I find it hard to believe that I haven’t been to work for the past 7 days in a row. Labor Day weekend feels like it was weeks ago, at this point. So, needless to say, I’m glad this week is ending.

For the past few weeks, while sick, I’ve been slowing purging my bedroom. Ideally, the only furniture I want in my bedroom is my bed and an end table. Even though I’ve been on this new adventure of trying to be a little “extra” with my style and presence, I can’t when it comes to my space. The less stuff, the better.

I finally took my clothes off of my wardrobe rack and put them in my closet. FYI, I got the wardrobe rack for Christmas from my sister a couple of years ago, before I found the beauty in letting clothes I never planned to wear again go. Now, I need to figure out what I’m going to do with it, but it definitely has to leave my bedroom.

My plans to minimize my bedroom will have to wait a little more, because I actually have a jam packed weekend. Rare, I know. However, it begins to tonight with meeting some friends for drinks and a little dinner at Babalu Tacos & Tapas bar. As for tomorrow, I probably won’t know when I will be coming or going, because I have some tailgating to do for the Southern Heritage Classic football game. I live in the area of the stadium and traffic is always horrific. So, I won’t be there to long, because my church is opening our new arena and I’m serving at the first service, which is tomorrow night. I wonder can I figure out to clone myself before then. Plus, I somehow have to figure out when I’m going to do my grocery shopping as well.

I’m already exhausted and Friday has barely begun. Luckily, the weather is supposed to be picturesque and will hopefully make this weekend one to remember. Let’s chat some more next week!

eSTYLIST: Last Days of Summer

It was freezing when I took my dogs out at 6am this morning. Okay, it was 59 degrees, but that’s freezing when yesterday was in the 90s. Although I’ve been mentally preparing for fall weather, I was not at all prepared. So, now I feel like I’m behind and need to actually start figuring out my fall look. So, this eStylist post is dedicated to the last days of summer. We are at the transition point of having to mix summer pieces with fall pieces.

eStylist Last Days of Summer 2017

Let’s be honest, we all have some pieces that we wore all summer that we just aren’t quite ready to let go. For me, it’s my bow sandals and thin, flowy tees. In the meantime, keep reading to get the deets on this look right here.

LUST-HAVE LIST: September 2017

Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

Lust-Have List - September 2017

We made it to September and have less than 4 months left of 2017. Crazy, right! Since I was sick for most of August, I feel a little behind with my goals, but I’m super happy about September being here. September is my favorite month for a few reasons. One reason is that my favorite season, fall, begins and the temps start to cool.

Also, September is my birthday month. Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m not one of those people that treat my birthday like a national holiday. Actually, I rarely take my birthday off from work, because it feels like any other day. However, this year, I plan to take the day off and celebrate making it to another year.

Since September is my birthday month, my September Lust-Have List is pretty much a birthday wishlist. So, for my family and friends reading this, if you wonder what I want, here you go!
