Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Link-End Round-Up August 25, 2017

Slowly, but surely, I’m finally getting back to the swing of things a.k.a my daily life. I can’t ever recall getting sick and having it throw me off my path so much, but I’m so much better. However, my voice is still strained, because of the last little cough that I have from the bronchitis. Hopefully, after spending the next couple of days sipping on hot tea, my voice will be back by Monday.

Yesterday morning was the first day that it actually felt like fall. It felt so good walking to my car on a chilly morning and leaves have even started to fall. I’m telling you, fall is my favorite season, especially the beginning. Crisp morning with a cup of hot soy chai tea latte are everything.

I plan to lay low this weekend to finish a little late minute recouping. However, I might start planning to decorate my home for fall, which is always fun. Hopefully, Michael’s will slide a nice 20% coupon into my inbox and allow me to load up on some fall goods. Oh, and I need some nice fall-friendly candles. Listen, I’m already getting too excited just typing these plans. So, let me chill.

In the meantime, I hope you all have an amazing weekend and I hope you stop by next week. I already have full schedule of post ideas to share with ya’ll. đŸ™‚ See ya next week!

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Link-End Round-Up August 18, 2017

As of tomorrow, it would be 2 weeks since I’ve been sick. Bronchitis is horrible. However, I can happily say that I’m at about 90-95% back to my normal self. Currently, I’m just craving some normalcy back into my life. My work/life balance has been all the way off. I worked from home for a few days these past 2 weeks, which I don’t like doing unless I have to. However, I was too sick and weak to partake in cubicle life.

I still have to get rid of this last bit of cough and get my voice back. After that, ya girl is back! *Sips ginger peppermint green tea*

As usual after I get over being sick, I’m spending this weekend deep cleaning and disinfecting my home. I’m swinging my Target after work to load up on laundry detergent and Lyson cleaners and disinfectant spray. I have piles of laundry that have been waiting for me to get off my “death” bead. Plus, I’m running out of clean clothes.

On Sunday night, I’m going to treat my skin to a spa night. While I was sick, I was sweating so much at the beginning and got dehydrated. Therefore, my skin got very dry and shallow. I plan to deep clean my skin and do some multi-masking. Time to make my skin plump and hydrated again.

Hopefully, between my cleaning frenzy this weekend, my brain and I will become cohesive and start coming up with blogging ideas. There’s hardly been any creative juices flowing in my brain these past couple of weeks, but that’s about to change.

I hope everyone has an amazing weekend keep your fingers crossed that I pop up next week with some new posts. *fingers crossed*

LINK-END ROUND-UP: August 4, 2017

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Link-End Round-Up August 4, 2017

I’m so over this week. I’ve been trying to fight off a summer cold all week, but it caught my sister/roommate. So, I’ve been trying to keep my distance from her. However, a stomach bug did catch me out of nowhere on Wednesday at work. So, I ended up leaving early to work from home. Like I said, I’m over this week.

Work has been a little hectic and some mini projects have popped up. So, I might be cashing in some overtime this weekend since I didn’t have any plans. Plus, who doesn’t love a little extra money on their paycheck? Am I right?!

I’m so glad that it’s Friday! After work, I plan to go home, finally wash my hair this week, and do some laundry. Oh, and I need to clean my makeup brushes and sponges, because I feel like it’s been forever since I deep cleaned them. I love Friday nights at home doing light housework knowing I don’t have to get up in the morning to go to work.

LUST-HAVE LIST: August 2017

Stained Couture’s monthly series, Lust-Have List, features items I’m wanting this month.

Lust-Have List

It’s still summer, but the past couple of days here in Memphis have felt very fall-sy. Waking up to sunny skies and cool temperatures has been amazing. However, these mornings have also been making me anxious for fall to come. We still have less than 2 months for fall to arrive but, hopefully the crisp fall weather will show up a little earlier than expected.

The combination of fall-like weather and the arrival of August also has me wondering how and what I’m going to stock my fall wardrobe. I’m pretty sure that will get that after reading about the items I want this month.

LUST-HAVE LIST: August 2017

  • Origins A Perfect World SPF 40 Age Defense Moisturizer – The moisturizer I had planned to use during my summer skincare routine caused me to break out. So. I’ve been pondering on trying this moisturizer from Origins, because Origins products have never let me down. This moisturizer is good for anti-aging regimens. Plus, it has SPF 40 in it. I’m always down for a moisturizer with SPF.
  • Off the Shoulder Floral Blouse – I was so late to the off the shoulder trend this summer. However, it’s never too late to hop on a trend train. I love this floral off the shoulder blouse from H&M. It’s lightweight, but also has long sleeves. This will make great piece to transition from summer to fall.
  • Rebecca Minkoff Mini Vanity Saddle BagSaddle bags are one of my favorite bags to carry in the fall. This suede rose color one from Rebecca Minkoff is everything! I think rose suede is going to be vibe for the fall.
  • Matt Bernson Emerson Tassle Loafers – Fall is loafer season. I’m really feeling these minimalist loafers by Matt Bernson and the tassel is a chic and subtle detail.
  • Goodbye, Vitamin: A Novel – I’ve been craving a good fiction book to dig into and this one is at the top of the list. It’s only been out a couple of weeks, but the reviews make me think this is the next book I need to crack open. Time to give all of my self-help and non-fiction books a break.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: July 28, 2017

Stained Couture’s weekly series, Link-End Round-Up, features interesting reads I read from around the internet this week.

Link-End Round-Up July 28, 2017

Here’s the final Link-End Round-Up of July 2017. This month went by pretty slow for me. It feels like the Fourth of July was about couple of months ago. This could be a sign that I was busy this month or the heat has blocked my memory. However, I’m very much looking forward to August, because it’s the last month of this quarter. There are some things I need to hurry and do in August to prepare for September. Plus, I still need to finish up some books from my summer reading list. I think I might cover the importance of August and September in an upcoming email.

Speaking of emails, I know I haven’t sent an email out in a couple of weeks. I want to refresh my email’s content, look, and overall vibe. Just trust that I’m working on it. I’m also looking for ways to refresh the vibe of Stained Couture, too. In today’s age, you can’t be stagnant for too long. It makes you fall behind and get left behind. When things get mundane and/or boring, it’s time to get up and get uncomfortable. Well, that’s what I do.

Today is the first day of tax-free weekend in Tennessee and I could care less. In my efforts to be more responsible, I know I don’t need to do any shopping for clothes. However, there is always a chance that I find something at a price that is just too good to pass up. #PrayForMyWallet

I hope ya’ll have an amazing weekend and let’s chat some more next week.
