LINK-END ROUND-UP: March 10, 2017

link-end round-up march 10, 2017

After a long week, I’m here with this week’s edition of Link-End Round-Up.

This week definitely didn’t turn out as planned, which is a good thing. I was scheduled to attend jury duty this week and since this was my first time, I assumed and prepared to be there all week. However, by the grace of God and the fact that there were more people than needed, I was released around 12:30 on the first day. So, I’m off the hook for the next 10 years, but hopefully longer than that.

On Wednesday, in honor of International Womens Day, I challenged myself to spend no money. I felt accomplished AF that I was actually able to not spend a penny that day. This mini challenged helped me to realize ways I overspend and when I feel mostly tempted to spend. I thought that I would be tempted more in the morning when I would get my quick fixes of overpriced lattes and a cheap breakfast sandwich. However, that wasn’t the case, because I told myself there is plenty of FREE coffee at work. Also, the company brought sausage and chicken biscuits the previous day and there were some still left over. Oddly, I felt the most desire to spend money on my way home. I rarely take anything out to cook and stop to pick up something to cook or eat on the way home.

Fortunately, I had things at home I could eat for dinner, but this made me realized that I need to put some time into preparing meals. Hey, this can be another personal challenge for me to work on. Since the forecast is showing that we have a 40% chance of snow flurries this weekend (WTF?!), I will use this time to stay inside and concoct a game plan. I got this.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this week’s edition of Link-End Round-Up. Have a good weekend!

The work week ends today and it’s time for this week’s Link-End Round-Up! I wish I could say that this week has been a breeze for me, but it’s been super stressful. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen that I’ve been dealing with some behind-the-scene issues with this site. For the most part, according to my hosting company, it’s been resolved. However, it’s not completely resolved on my end.

Yesterday, I was so frustrated with the whole process that I strongly considered just quitting the blog altogether. Not to mention, when I get frustrated, I cry. Yes, tears were shed, but I have faith everything will be okay.

Next week, things might be a little bar around here, because I have to report to jury duty on Monday. Yep, they got me. Actually, I’m the fourth person that I know that’s gotten called to jury duty in the past year. One of my coworkers had in back in May of last year, one friend had it back on December and actually got sequestered for a trial. Now, I have it next week and my COO has it 2 weeks after me. Personally, I plan to use that time to catch up on my reading, because I have stacks of magazines and books that I’ve been meaning to read. However, hopefully I will be dismissed and off the hook for the next 10 years. *Fingers crossed*

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and hopefully, I will be here next week some new posts. See ya next time!

LUST-HAVE LIST: March 2017

Although it’s not technically spring, the weather has been very spring like and I’m all into it. For the most part, I’ve been coasting the past couple of weeks, which is one of the reasons that this post a little late. When the weather get warmer and spring begins to form, I start feeling a little refreshed and livelier. I’ve been partaking in more casual lunch dates with friends and indulging in moments of self-care. Needless to say, February was a decent month for me and hopefully March will be just as nice.

Since I’ve been cutting back dramatically on my spending, I’ve been trying to make smarter purchases. I only buy things that I need and/or get my money’s worth from it, which includes things that I will wear and use all of the time. Therefore, you will notice that the items I’m wanting this month are all practical enough to use everyday. Enjoy!

LINK-END ROUND-UP: February 24, 2017

Ready for this week’s Link-End Round-Up? Well, it’s here and I just realized that this is the last Link-End Round-Up for February.

The weather this week has been, for the most part, beautiful. Although I know it’s not a good thing for us to be experience late spring and early summer weather, I’m loving it! Seriously, yesterday, it was sunny and got up into the low 80s. It’s still February, people!

Despite the pleasant weather this week, the temperatures are going to dip a little this weekend. Therefore, I think this is going to be a perfect time to start in spring cleaning and getting rid of some stuff. I was watching this documentary, Happiness, on Netflix that’s all about living a minimalist life. You might recall that I’ve tried living a minimalist life before and I still do, in a way. However, I realized that I have some things in my life that I no longer need or use. So, it’s time to assess my possessions and decide what to keep or delete from my life. Wish me luck!

Hopefully, next week I will get back to posting consistently. I’m working on training myself to stick to a time each morning to blog. Up until a couple of months ago, I was working on blogs while at work. However, now I have readjust how I use my time. Deciding when and where to work on blogging is at the top of my list. I’m getting there.

I’ll see you next week and enjoy these reads that interested me this past week.
