eSTYLIST: Hey Fall 2016

eStylist Hey Fall 2016

Yes, fall is finally here!  I love this day, even though it’s still too hot to break out my combat boots and thicker cardigans. I did have my first pumpkin spice latte of the season to commemorate this day, because I refuse to enjoy a PSL in the summer. Very appropriate, might I say. I also decided to welcome it with an estylist Hey Fall look.

My style in the fall is a mixture of layered classic colors and textures with touches of fun prints and accessories, which is featured in this edition of eStylist. Please enjoy!

LINK-END ROUND-UP: September 16, 2016

link-end round-up 9-16-16

Wow, Friday really crept up on me, because it wasn’t until late last night when I realize that today is Friday. So, I’m up real early to bring to you this week’s edition of Link-End Round-Up. I might feel a little behind, because I took a personal day on Wednesday. When I say I took a personal day, I mean just that. I was slumped on my sofa watching recorded episodes of Fixer Upper and The First 48 until I convinced myself to get up and go to the store to get a container of Talenti Caramel Cookie Crunch gelato. Always worth the drive and calories.

In honesty, since I’ve been really busy at work, I just needed a quick day to be responsible for nothing more than remembering to delete the episodes after I watched them to avoid clogging up my DVR. It was a great lazy day! Apparently, it was just what I needed, because I knocked out so much stuff on my always evolving daily to-do list when I got back to the office with time to spare.

Speaking of my daily to-do list, which I’ve discussed before, this week I decided to be a little more “particular” with it. Usually, I just write down the things I need to do and scratch them off as I go. However, this week, I decided that I would break each task down by the time and hours I work on each one. Everyday, the first task is to check my email. It’s still the first task on the list. However, I only deal with emails between 9am and 9:30am. That’s enough time for me to sort, respond, and archive them. After that, I usually spend an hour or two working on actual work tasks or blog tasks. Other than emails, I’ve broken each task to 1-2 hours each. So far, it’s been pretty good. I’ve been able to finish each task each day. There are few tweaks I need to make to the process, which I plan to do next week.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: September 9, 2016

link-end round-up september 9, 2016

Oh, it’s time for Link-End Round-Up already? Man, short work weeks can throw you off hard. One of the drawbacks about a short work week, when it that starts late instead of end early, is the feeling that  you are running behind due to losing a day. I’ve felt like that everyday this week, because I started this week with inboxes full of projects, short deadlines, and ongoing issues. All of this work clouded my creativity for awhile. Thankfully, the clouds cleared and made a lot of progress towards completing my list of things to do for the week. Hopefully, I will be able to wrap up everything by the end of today. *fingers crossed*

I feel like I say this every week, but this weekend I’m going to start purging some things from my home and do some organizing. Next weekend, I want to finally start painting around my house, which I’ve been meaning to do for over a year. Yes, I’m ashamed and feel free to judge me for now. The problem was that I could never decide on a color and I would ultimately just let the idea go of the whole painting idea all together. However, now that I’ve been working on learning to discipline myself, the thought or painting has turned into planning to paint next weekend. So, like I said, judge me…for now. 🙂

I finally decided that I want bright, optic white walls. I love bright white rooms, because they make me feel awake and alert. Plus, they are great for when you want to take pictures in the house with natural lighting. I can easily warm up the place with decor. So, no worries about finding cozy feels.

Enough gabbing for now. Stop by next week for more beauty and style chats. In the meantime, keep reading to enjoy this week’s Link-End Round-Up.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: September 2, 2016

link-end round-up september 2 2016

Yep. I’m in full fall mode after just one day of September! Well, not quite full Fall mode, because I refuse to take Starbucks up on their offer to get a PSL this earlier this year. Seriously, Starbucks? Chill out. The leaves are still green and on the trees, for goodness sake! Anyway, here is the first Link-End Round-Up of September 2016! Let’s get it!

I’ve been feeling so motivated these past couple of days, because this week started off a little irregular for me. On Monday and Tuesday, I had to get up on at 4am (2 hours earlier than usual) in order to get ready for work and help my brother handle some business before I had to be in the office at 9. I am most productive when I go to sleep around the time everyday and wake-up at the same time every morning. So much so, my body wakes me every morning. No alarm clock is needed in my life and I love that. However, even missing a couple of hours of sleep can throw off my day and it did.

On Wednesday, I was still feeling the effects of those two irregular days and not to mention I had quite the workload in my inboxes (Yes, inboxes. multiple inboxes.). So, I downloaded a meditation app and after a quick 5 minute meditation session before bed, I felt instantly relaxed and calm. Since then, I’ve been back on and getting plenty of stuff done, including things I’ve been procrastinating on doing for months. Actually, the latter can be attested to me signing up for Courtney Saunders of Think & Grow Chick’s “No Excuses Woman 21 day Self-Discipline” Course. Today is only Day 2, but I’ve already learned so much and gotten so on track with my goals. I’m so excited for this course. FYI, I’ve never signed up for a paid course, but this one seemed too perfect and designed for me and my goals. Investing in myself is something I’m trying to do more besides effective skincare treatments and products.

Oh snap, I just remembered that it’s Labor Day weekend! Oh, how I need a three-day weekend right about now. I don’t know exactly what I’m going to do, but all I hope to do is be able to enjoy it. So, see ya next week and have a great weekend! Keep reading to see this week’s link-end round-up reads.

LUST-HAVE LIST: September 2016

lust-have list september 2016

Yes, it’s September, my favorite month! So, let’s welcome this month with the September 2016 Lust-Have List. In case you didn’t know why September is my favorite month, it’s because the first first official day of Fall (my favorite season) begins on September 22 and then 4 days later is my birthday on September 26th.  Although I’m not into making a big deal for or on my birthday, I’m always appreciative that I’m able to say I made it to another year on this earth. This year, I’m turning 35. OMG, I can’t believe it! Glad to make it to 35, but I really can’t believe it.

So, since it is my birthday month and the welcoming of fall, the September edition of the Lust-Have List is usually a birthday wishlist and foreshadowing of things I’m going to be into for fall. This year is no different. Please enjoy the September 2016 Lust-Have List/ My Birthday Wishlist.
