REVISITING: Coty Airspun Powder

coty airspun loose face powder

I recently recollected on all the make-up and beauty products I’ve bought and used over my beauty blogging career (10+ years) and realized that I’ve probably used hundreds of different products, but feel like I can only recall a few. Sad, I know. However, what stirred up this pondering of my past was the recent resurgence in the beauty world of Coty’s Airspun Powder a.k. the face powder we’ve all seen in the drugstores, but never bought.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: August 19, 2016

link-end round-up august 19, 2016

Hey there and welcome to this week’s Link-End Round-Up. Currently, I’m holed up in my bedroom, because I’m experiencing an unexpected MAJOR breakout. It just happened yesterday and I was super perplexed as to what caused it. I haven’t had this magnitude of a breakout is a long time, thanks to proper skincare and nutrition. However, I think the culprit is either not thoroughly washing my face at night, because of super long workdays OR these natural caffeine pills I’ve been taking for the past couple of days. Those are the only 2 things that I can think of that I recently did that could cause this breakout.

Yesterday, I went to Ulta to pick up a bottle of Mario Badescu Buffering Lotion, which is the best spot treatment EVER for large and cystic acne, which is what popped up on my face. I applied it last night and I woke up this morning to the majority of the outbreak being clear. I promise you, the Buffering Lotion and the Drying Lotion (for whiteheads) have never let me down.

I plan to go make-up free all weekend and relax. Hopefully, this will calm down my skin and it will clear up in time for the beginning of another week. In the meantime, I hope everyone has a good weekend and stop by next week. Oh, and keep reading to enjoy the reads that I caught my attention this week. Deuces!

LINK-END ROUND-UP: August 12, 2016

link-end round-up

I’m so glad that it’s finally Friday! I’m also glad I found the time to deliver this week’s edition of Link-End Round-Up. I had a pretty stressful weekend. I’m telling, I was not in the mood to “adult” this week, but I survived. Unfortunately, my bedroom is a mess, my hair is about one week overdue for a good wash, and my to-do list has barely budged. I wish I could pinpoint what is off, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.

However, this weekend, I have to get back on track and declutter my brain. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but the quickest way for me to declutter my mind is to first declutter my space. The space I need apply this decluttering pressure to is my bedroom/make-up area. It’s trash. No order at all. I have clothes hanging on and off my wardrobe rack, my books and magazines are all over the foot area of my bed, and my make-up area is a current breeding ground for random foundation streaks, make-up brushed waiting to get cleaned, and products needed to get organized. So, that’s the goal of this weekend. I guess I’m going to spend my weekend “adulting”.

In regards to self-care Saturday, I might try to squeeze in a pedicure. My feet look and feel horrible. They need a little TLC…two times.

I hope you have an amazing weekend and I’ll see you back here next week. Enjoy the reads in this week’s Link-End Round-Up!

LINK-END ROUND-UP: August 5, 2016

link-end round-up

Hey, it’s the first Friday of August! Therefore, this is also the first Link-End Round-Up of the August, too! I hope everyone had a good week, especially those of you who started school or had kids that started school this week. I was just talking to my sister about how I slightly miss those first day of school vibes. It was the feeling of happiness that I would see my friends everyday again slathered with the realization that summer was over and sprinkled with anxiety about the upcoming school year. It was mess of emotions, pretty much. However, I cherish all memories, including first day of school memories.

Like I’ve mentioned in the last previous LERUs, Saturday is all about self-care. Self-care Saturday is here and it’s real. My self-care Saturday this weekend involves me getting a long overdue facial in the morning. My skin is over me and my antics and needs a little pampering…from a professional. Bougie skin. I have a Murad facial scheduled at 8:30am, because I’m even a morning person on Saturdays. After my facial, I plan to hightail it back home, because the high temperatures are still lingering. Today, it’s supposed to be at least 100 degrees and that’s not heat index, people. That’s the actual temperature. I don’t know how much longer I can take this without just filling up my tub up everyday with cold water and chilling until sundown. Turn down, weather. Let us be cool!

Here’s to a good weekend and don’t forget to check back in next week. I would say bring coffee, but I’m still fasting for coffee until Wednesday. So, an iced soy chai tea will do.

Enjoy this week’s Link-End Round-Up!

LUST-HAVE LIST: August 2016

lust-have list august 2016

It’s already  August?! Seriously, I feel like I skipped a month, because it seems too early for it to be August. Oh well, it’s here as well as the Lust-Have List for August 2016. I actually low-key love the month of August. This month, a few family members and friends have birthdays, the weather begins to slightly (and I do mean slightly) cools down a smidge, and all the back-to-school sales are popping. Although I don’t have any kids, I love any time of year that allows me to go hard at some sales.

Oh! Someone digitally tapped me on the shoulder and reminded me that I haven’t sent out a newsletter with my monthly eStylist look in a while. I checked and “a while” is about 6 months. Wow. I was so shocked and disappointed in myself when I saw it has been that long. Therefore, if you are subscribed to my newsletter (FYI, you should be!), you might want to look out for an “old friend” to pop up in your inbox some time this week. Probably sooner than you think. If you aren’t signed up, you can easily do so in the sidebar. Hint: Glance to the right.

Here’s to a great August!
