Still, like the beginning of every new month, I get excited for all the upcoming things planned for the month. In my circle of family and friends, from July 9-21, I know someone who has a birthday EACH DAY. Needless to say, I have a couple of birthday dinners and festivities penciled in my planner for the next upcoming weeks. FYI, for gifts, I give gift cards or wine. Pick your poison.

Here’s to a great month full of success, health, and happiness.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: July 1, 2016

link-end round-up

It’s Friday, the first day of a new month, and Link-End Round-Up! What’s a better way to start a new month that with…A THREE DAY WEEKEND! Woot, woot!

Most of us in the US have a three day weekend thanks to the Independence Day falling on a Monday this year. FYI, I love the 4th of July! It’s always a chill day of hanging out with friends and family, seeing fireworks, and indulging on BBQ and booze. I will definitely be partaking in the latter, because 2 of my co-workers and I are going to do the Daniel Fast together. When I did the fast a few months ago, I felt so much better afterwards and it helped me improve and other aspects of my life. Unfortunately, after getting sick and injuring myself, I slowly slid back to some of my older habits. So, I’m going to strive for more this time around.

In the meantime, I hope you all have a great and enjoyable weekend. See ya’ll on Tuesday! Yes, I’m taking Monday off completely.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: June 24, 2016

link-end round-up

Whew, Friday crept up on me this week, but here is this week’s Link-End Round-Up. I’m pooped! I wish I had a more mature word to use instead, but “pooped” just felt more appropriate. This week was so amazing and not just because I didn’t have to go to work everyday (that didn’t hurt, either.). I had the most amazing time helping at the youth conference. It was pretty life changing and hopefully I will be able to do it again next year.

This weekend, I plan to spend the last days of my vacation relaxing in preparation for me having to go back to work on Monday morning. Just thinking about my many emails my inbox has collected over the past week makes me cringe. Thankfully, nothing major happened this week at work that required me to be reached. Plus, I’m really proud of myself, because I didn’t check my work emails not once. Round of applause for me!

Here’s to an amazing weekend and I’ll see you next week…after I swim up from the sea of emails I have to check Monday morning. Le struggle.

eStylist: Hey, Summer 2016

hey summer 2016

Today is the first official day of summer! Hey Summer 2016! It’s hard to believe that today is the first day of summer considering that most of the US (including my area) has been dealing with record high temperatures for the past few days. When I tell you that my AC and cooling fans have been putting in so much overtime these past few days that they deserves raises, if that was possible.

However, today is not only the first day of summer, but also the first day of my vacation/staycation from work and I’m so stoked! As I mentioned last week, I’m going to spend my morning volunteering at my church’s annual youth conference, which I hear is amazing to be apart. Afterwards, it’s all about chilling, napping, and repeat.

Back to summer. Despite these insane high temperatures, I’m looking forward to summer. I already have a few plans here and there lined up that I require the perfect summer outfit. This summer is going to be hot, which can be uncomfortable. Therefore, I my summer style is going to cute, cool, and comfortable. A blend of light colors, classic pieces, and feminine flair.

I created a look that felt hit all the requirements for my summer style.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: June 17, 2016

link-end round-up

It’s Friday, which means it’s also time for this week’s Link-End Round-Up! I’m so glad it’s Friday, because this is my last day in the office until next Monday. Yes, your girl is on vacation or a staycation for the next week. I’m going to spend it by not doing much of anything. Well, I am volunteering at a summer camp for teens that my church holds every year, but I’m only going to be there in the morning. Still, I’m excited to serve there!

Still, I really want to spend some time next weekend unwinding and doing things that I don’t have the “luxury” to do when I’m at work. Balancing a tedious 9-6 (no typo), the demands of blogging, and other side hustles I currently have my hands in can be very exhausting. Plus, that doesn’t include continuing to cultivate and grow my personal relationships. Le sigh. Yet, there still will probably be a day or two of me melted on the sofa, watching daytime TV, and unplugged from almost anything with internet access. Necessary decision.
