black patent leather loafers

When I think of a true classic loafer, it pretty much looks like these LADYBIRD patent leather loafers from Topshop. Perfect androgynous and tailored looking. Plus, they look like they cost way more than their $48 price tag.

The first pair of loafers I can ever remember is a brown pair that a 2nd grade classmate of mine used to wear all the time. It was the 80s and her parents dressed her very preppy and those brown loafers with a shiny copper penny was everything. These loafers from Cole Haan instantly took me back to the the 2nd grade. The matte leather and and traditional slit to slide in a penny are perfection to 2nd grade me.
