EMPTIED: February 2017

I was really focused on using up products that had barely any product left for the past month. Most of the products I used up were skincare products, as usual. However, there were a couple of makeup products that I emptied this month as well.

The first product I used up was Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Body Oil. In the wintertime, I step my hydration game up by adding a body oil to the mix. I usually use the Neutrogena Rain Bath Body Oil. However, Target was out on the day I went to buy a bottle. So, I decided to give this a try. Although this body is very hydrating and my skin absorbed it very well, I’m not the biggest fan of the smell of cocoa butter. Every time I used it, I questioned why did I buy it knowing that I don’t like the smell of cocoa butter. For that reason alone, I probably won’t buy this again.

The next product I used up was the Revlon ColorStay foundation that I recently started using again after many years. Still love this foundation and I keep forgetting to pick up another bottle. I really don’t know I keep trying other foundations when this one works so well on me. I need to stop that.

My skin serum collection is dwindling, because I used up two of my favorite skin serums this past month. The first one I used up is the Pur-lisse pur-bright brightening serum. This serum is very was gentle on my skin. The other serum I used up this month was the Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster serum, which helped my skin look and feel softer. Both of theses serums were played a big role in helping my skin look brighter the dull months of winter.

After I ran out of my RoC moisturizer last month, I decided to finish the rest of my Neutrogena Day Cream since it does contain SPF. This past month wasn’t so cold, so my skin didn’t need such such a heavy moisturizer. Therefore, there were days that this moisturizer didn’t absorb well into my skin, because it was dry. So, I had to mix it with a drop of face oil in order for it melt in my skin and not leave a residue. To be honest, I’m not sure I would buy this again. My skin prefers other moisturizers now.

Finally used up my Maybelline Brow Drama gel. This brow gel made me realize how much I need to keep a tinted brow gel in my makeup collection. Tinted brow gels come in handy for those “natural” days when all you need is a little powder, lip balm, mascara, and now, tinted brow gel. Maybe not in the very near future, but I would buy this brow gel again.

I actually enjoyed using up as many products as I could this month. However, I’m not sure if I will have that many products to use up next month. We’ll see in next month’s edition of Emptied.
