EMPTIES: August 2022

EMPTIES: August 2022 | STAINED COUTURE

Just like last month’s EMPTIES post, I used up a lot of products in the month of  August. Actually, I’ve been trying to use up a couple of these items for a while. So, progress was made!

Keep reading to see all the details and reviews about the products that I used up last month.

Over the past couple of years, the best topical cream for muscle pain comes from Salonpas. I’ve various products from them and they all are amazing, but I really fancy their Lidocaine PLUS line. I used up this pain relieving cream last month, because I started dealing with some neck pain. This cream plus new pillows helped so much and the neck pain is pretty much gone now.

So, this will probably be the last time I feature this Laniege toner in an EMPTIES post. Not because I don’t plan to use it again, but because it’s the toner I use all the time. So, I’m retiring it from this series, but just trust I will always have a bottle in my bathroom.

The Camille Rose Curl Love Moisture Milk has become one of my favorite curly hair products. It’s a lightweight formula that gently moisturizes and softens curls without weighing them down. I believe that this is the second bottle I’ve used up of this hair cream this year. So, I will definitely be buying it in the future.

Every summer, I feel like I go on an adventure to try as many setting sprays to combat melting my makeup. This summer was kind of different, because I found this Milani Make It Last spray and didn’t look make. I think they offer a matte version, but I’m glad I went with the original. My makeup looked natural for most of day. A winner that I will buy again.

The next one is another item that TikTok made me buy; ELF Power Grip Primer. I heard that it was a dupe for the MILK Hydro Grip Primer, which I love! So, I had to give it a try and it did not disappoint, because it is definitely a true dupe. I loved this primer (and price) so much that I’ve already bought and cracked open another tube. Now, if they can make the setting spray version, all will be right.

I have been trying to use up this Dermablend setting powder for about a year. I recently realized that my skin prefers foundation powders than liquid foundations. Therefore, I haven’t had to use setting powders that much. However, Dermablend is known for having some really good setting powders. I use the shade Cool Beige, because I have mostly cool undertones. I really enjoyed this setting powder and would buy it again when I’m in the need for one.

For the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to move away from physical exfoliation and use chemical ones, instead. However, dr. brandt PoreDermabrasion exfoliator is a one of my favorite physical exfoliators. What I love about this exfoliator is the gel-like texture, which gently melts and smooths your skin. When my skin was oilier, I would use this once a week to help unclog my pores and remove dead skin. I might get me another bottle, just to have when my skin needs a little extra exfoliation.

Finally, is another item that I’m going to retire from my EMPTIES posts; the Dermaflage Good Skin Corrective Cream. My daytime is being the Operations Manager for Dermaflage, which has allowed me to become addicted to this moisturizer. I go through a tube every other month, because it has helped to improve the texture of my skin. So, again, just know I will be using this moisturizer everyday for awhile.
