EMPTIES: February 2020 | STAINED COUTURE

The last few weeks have felt like we are on a snowball ride through hell, but here we are. Hopefully, everyone is taking all the precautions that they can, which can be hard. However, some of us still have to go to work and live the same life we’ve been living for years, but with extra sanitizers. I have to admit, trying to stay afloat on all the information that is constantly churning out has been exhausting. Now, I’m ready to get back to my usual stuff – sharing content.

So, keep reading to see all the products that I used up in February.

I used up more eye products last year than any other product. So, let’s start with the liquid liners, because I used up 2 – a Stila and a Kat Von D. Oddly enough, I bought both of these within a couple of days apart. Initially, out of the 2, I thought I would love the KVD one, because it was more opaque than the Stila All-Day Waterproof liquid liner. Unfortunately, the Kat Von Tattoo liquid liner did smudge and was dry, at times. Therefore, I started gravitating more towards the Stila one, but it wasn’t as dark as the KVD. In the end, I’d buy the Stila one again, but I’ll pass on the KVD one.

One product that I never thought that I was going to use up finally met it’s demise in my life. It Cosmetics Universal Eyebrow pencil was an impressive dud. It was impressive, because you could make it light or dark with just the power of your wrist. However, it broke on me instantly and the tip wasn’t for me. If you already have great, full brows, but need an occasional filler, this may work for you. However, there are better and more affordable options than this one, in my opinion. So, I’m pretty confident in saying that I’ll never buy this again.

Let’s move on to Bobbi Brown’s gel eyeliner in Truffle, which was great. The application was smooth, payoff was awesome, and it stayed on all day. Plus, the brown shade was versatile enough to use as a eyeliner and backup brow pencil. Since I don’t use brown eyeliner as much as I should, I would still buy this again. This would make a great staple brown eye pencil. I think I need to start giving Bobbi more of my money, because I’ve yet to not like a product I’ve tried from them.

Let’ s move on to skincare. Here’s a strange fact about, I can’t not buy new glycolic pads whenever I see them. The latest ones I tried was UrbanSkin RX Clear & Even Tone Clarifying Glycolic Pads. I’ve been a fan of UrbanSkin RX cleansing bars, which made me want to try theses pads. Unfortunately, I was let down, because they felt too thin and I didn’t notice any change in my skin. Totally dud and won’t buy these again. However, I still buy and love the cleansing bars.

I finally tried the Bioderma Micellar water and I will never buy another micellar water ever again. This is the best micellar water I’ve ever used and can’t see myself trying another one anytime soon. The only retailer that I knows carries these in-store is Walgreens, but you can order them online. I’ve already bought 2 more bottles.

So, I have a rebuttal, because the next product is a repeat from January that I said I would never buy. That product is the Heritage Store’s Rosewater Facial Toner, which I initially bought out of curiosity. However, this time I bought it, because it due to recommendation from an esthetician that I follow online. She said that you should always add moisture back in your skin during your skincare routine. The best way to do that is with a hydrating toner and the rosewater facial was one that she recommended. After giving it a second and using the way she said, I totally get it. Although I plan to try another one she mentioned next, I’m still buying this one again as an affordable option.

Also, I ran out of Mario Badescu Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea facial spray. I feel like all of MB’s facial sprays do the exact same thing, but with different scents. So, I think I’m going to venture away from them for a while. I still have a couple of the small ones left, but then I’m going to starting trying some other options. However, I know I’ll be back.
