EMPTIES: July 2020 | STAINED COUTURE

Pardon me as I pat myself on the back for actually posting my Empties post closer to the beginning of the month instead of the end. *pat my back* Last month, I really went through some products. Keep reading to what I used up and my final thoughts on some of the newbies.

The first product up to bat is former “Item of the Week” – It Cosmetics! Confidence in Eye Cream. I’m still surprised at how much I enjoyed this eye cream. It was really hydrating and I think it helped improved the look of my under eye area, with and without makeup. I would totally purchase this again if I was ever in the need for a hydrating under eye cream.

Another It Cosmetics! product I used up was one of their under eye concealers. I think it’s been discontinued, because I can’t find it on their site. However, this is another hydrating under eye product, that really came in clutch when my under eye felt dry. After I started using hydrating under eye creams, I rarely used this and it took forever to use up. Even it wasn’t discontinued, I doubt I would’ve bought this again.

Although I don’t have small lips, they don’t look as full as I would like. So, I decide to try the cult favorite for full lips – Too Faced Lip Injection lip plumper. It’s does make your lips look a little fuller, but not as full as I wanted. The gloss was thick and not too sticky, which I loved. I didn’t feel the “burning” feeling that some people experience, which I’m glad about. So, I think I’m going to try the more intense version next – Lip Injection XL.

I used up another tube of my favorite drugstore sunscreen – Neutrogena Ultra Sheer. I love because it doesn’t leave a white cast, dries quickly, and SPF 100+. Of course, I will buy this again, but not for a minute. I recently purchased a new sunscreen that my aesthetician recommended. Not only did she recommend it, but I’ve been wanting to try it for awhile. Plus, I plan to use up every drop, because it cost me $31 + tax. -_-

You might recall in last month’s empties, I included a the Vitamin C cream from The Inkey List. Although I wouldn’t buy that again, this Bakuchoil Moisturizer– I’m buying this again. Bakuchoil is a plant-based retinol alternative, which is great for fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and uneven skintone. After using this moisturizer for a couple of weeks as a nighttime moisturizer, I definitely noticed a difference to my skin. Since the strength isn’t that strong, it’s great for sensitive skin and retinol newbies.

I finally used up the Farmacy Cleansing Balm and I’m going to pickup the bigger jar next week. Love it!

So, it may seem weird that I’m including a hand soap in my beauties empties. However, it’s important that you wash your hands before touching your face, including before washing your face. I’ve loved Mrs. Meyers Hand Soap in Honeysuckle. I must admit, I thought it was going to be lemon-scented, but I wasn’t mad at this scent. It was light, sweet, and floral, which made my bathroom smell just as fragrant. Unfortunately, it was limited-edition and I can’t find it in-store. I guess I’ll have to find another scent to fall in love with while cleaning my hands.

The Origin’s Ginseng Eye Cream is one of the first “big girl” eye creams that I’ve ever bought. Therefore, I’ve bought it a few times over the years, but it doesn’t do much for me anymore. I may buy it again, but I don’t think so. However, if you’re looking for an under eye cream for puffy eyes, I highly recommend you try this one.

The only sample I used up last month was the the Glow Conditioner from Authentic Beauty Concept. I had never heard of the brand before, but decided to give it a try since it was for colored hair. Although the bottle was small, I was able to get a couple of uses out of it. I did like the way it made my hair feel and look. However, it was very fragrant, which I didn’t mind – it didn’t linger in my hair. You know what? I might actually buy this again.

Finally, this collagen serum that I ordered off of Amazon, but is also at Walmart. I went through a phase last year when I was buying and trying again that would “increase collagen”. Of course, this serum didn’t do much, but it didn’t hurt my skin either. So, I guess I broke even. *shrugs*
