EMPTIES June 2024

EMPTIES: June 2024 | STAINED COUTURE

June was great for me in regards to me using up a lot of products. Keep reading to see my final takeaways and what products are getting retired from the EMPTIES list.

First product is True Textures hair lotion for curls by Mizani, which my stylist/bestie gave me. I received this when me and my hair was going through. My hair had just got some highlights, during a brittle cold winter, which is never good. Plus, I your girl was stressed – again, not a good thing for your hair. So, my friend gave me this this to help style my curls, which it did . I loved that this is a lightweight lotion that helps define the curls without making them hard. I would probably try this again, but with a hydrating product.

Another product my BFF gave me the Mizani lotion was The Closer by Amika. The Closer is cream to use and seal on your ends, especially the split ones. You only need to apply a little to your ends after washing and/or styling. The only issue I had with this product was that it didn’t come in a larger size. I’m placing an order for another one soon.

I will admit it, I bought this LaRoche-Pasay Cicoplast Balm B5 after being influenced from TikToks. I used this cream whenever my skin had a flare up, because it’s great for helping to heal skin irritations. Personally, I would switch between this ointment and Aquaphor. Needless to say, I will buy this again, because I think it’s a must in all skincare stashes.

The time has come for me to officially retire(again?) the Mielle Rosemary Strengthening oil. In the past, I was mostly using it to grow and strengthen my hair. However, I’ve been using it on my edges, because that area was looking thinner than usual. Glad to report, it appears to be working, which is why I’m not going to speak on this product in future empties posts.

Whenever I feel like my skin looks dull, I buy the COSRX Snail Mucin essence. After I start using this, I immediately see improvements to my skin; texture and hydration. I love this stuff, which is why it’s one of the first products I seek when my skin is acting up.

Over the years, I’ve become a huge E.L.F fan. Whenever I’m looking for a product, they are one of the first brands I check out. For example, I as looking an inexpensive hydrating eye cream and picked up this E.L.F Holy Hydration eye cream. I felt this was going to be a good one, because it contains hyaluronic acid and peptides. So, I knew this was going to be a winner and it was. I can’t wait to test it out more in colder weather.

Are you tired of me talking about their Power Grip Primer? I am…almost! It’s just so good and I may have to retire it, because I reach for it before all other primers. She’s that girl!

The Belif Aqua Bomb face moisturizer has become one of my favorite moisturizers. This moisturizer is super hydrating due to it containing hyaluronic acid , but it’s also really lightweight. The perfect all yea round daily moisturizer.
