This weekend will be my first weekend in a while when I’m not sick AND have some wiggle room in my budget to go live a little. So, I’m planning to celebrate this by attending the Essence My City, 4 Ways event here in Memphis.

Since I’m an introvert homebody, this event will give me a chance to explore and celebrate some cultural aspects of Memphis from art, fashion, food, and music. It’s hard to encounter all the local vibes and people from the comforts of my sofa while scrolling Instagram. Plus, it’s FREE to attend! Keep reading more information and all the guests.

This event has been held all over the country, but this will be the first time it has come to Memphis. I’m excited that this is finally happening and the people who are coming!  Some of the guests include celebrity stylist June Ambrose, singer Kelis, and The Real‘s host/comedian Loni Love. As for the local influencers, there will be DJ Tootz for music, Jamond Bullock for art, Chef D. Arthur for food, and Karleen Roy of the Vanity Group for fashion.
