eStylist: Everyday Basic Look

I’m a very simple girl. Very simple. Over the years, I’ve really curated and edited my wardrobe and minimized my list of go-to pieces.

In college, thanks to the abundance of credit cards (regret those), extra grant and scholarship money (meaning, I didn’t have to pay back), and the extra money that parents gave me (thanks, daddy!), I developed quiet the adoration and addiction to shopping. Then when you add in that this around the time that online shopping was starting, it was a wrap on saving money. I definitely had the packed closet and wall lined with shoeboxes to prove.

After college (a.k.a when reality hits you) I had a nice amount of debt and all the clothes, shoes, and make-up that I regretted I bought. However, I eventually pulled up my “big pants” and over the years, I’ve really honed in on streamlining and only buying things that I can and want to wear multiple times.

Every season, I notice that I tend to gravitate to one style and/or look, and this season is no different. For the past few months, my vibe has been more on the laid back, casual chic feel. Keep reading for the deets.

My Current Basic, Everyday Outfit of Choice

My current go-to outfit consists of everyday basics that casual, comfortable, but easy to build around, up, and down. Leggings are my comfort blanket and I’m so glad that basic black leggings have become a staple closet piece…when worn right. Although you can get them in multiple colors, I stick to all black with no detail. You can buy them anywhere and for any price, which is what I do and in bulk. I just ordered a few pairs of basic black leggings from Old Navy last week.

The next item in my BL is a soft, loosely fit tee that’s not to heavy in weight, nor too long. I have plenty of tees in plenty of colors, but a grey tee has been my favorite item to pull on for the past few month. As I type this, I’m currently wearing this one jersey tee from H&M and I’m not ashamed to say that I will probably wear another tee tomorrow, but with jeans and boots.

Ah, yes, boots! Me and boots are pretty serious, especially my combat boots. These are another item that I’m glad that didn’t fade too out of style of the past few years. I’ve worn my Sam Edelman Darwin combat boots so much over the past year, that have pretty much molded into the shape of my foot and are so comfortable. Well, they’ve always been comfortable.

Everyone needs a classic bag bag that can go anywhere and with anything. My bag of choice is MICHEAL Michael Kors large Selma bag. It’s roomy, sturdy, and super casual due to the fact that it is big enough to wear crossbody style.

Finally, a large oversize plaid shirt is the cherry on top. Tip: Thrift from the men’s section from a local thrift store. I’ve bought some for as little as $2! If you want to break a brand new one yourself, here’s one.
