One thing I don’t miss about college was the look and feel of that cold prison cell-esque The University of Memphis swore to me was my dorm room. It was small and splatter with every ugly shade of gray that can come to mind. Basically, it was everything I wasn’t! To this day, I find it amazing how all it needed to look awesome was some colorful bedding. Sometimes, that’s all any bedroom needs for a nice face lift.

Nautica just launched a new bedding collection that features various chic and fabulous prints and styles for almost any personality and would be perfect o spruce up any dorm room or first apartment. Since it’s by Nautica, you should already expect it to be nestled off into a lovely slumber in their bedding.

  1. This is an incredible giveaway!

The very best word to describe my home decor style would be ECLECTIC! I truly like a mish-mash of all different kinds of styles! I pair antique finds with contemprary ones, the rustic with the urban, girly decor with masculine decor, etc.! My home decor style is kind of a contradiction, I suppose, but somehow, it all comes together in the end!

    I’m also your facebook friend!

    Thank You!
    Liberty

  2. I’m a Facebook fan and I like lots of bright and pastel colors! Especially pinks and light blues 🙂

  3. You know what else? I’ve got a real passion for Antique Furniture! Like I said before, I like to mix the “new” with the “old” and it really works well! A few pieces of my furniture have been passed down from generation to generation and I really like that there’s a real family history behind some of my favorite pieces of furniture!

  4. Great giveaway 🙂 I became a fan on facebook. My style is probably classic. I like lighter colors like blues and yellows.

  5. The color in my home that I cant live without = Red! I love decorating with deep, rich reds! I bought a lamp a ZGallerie a number of years ago that is this luscious red color (lampshade is red, too)…oh yes, and it sits on my antique vanity! There’s that “new” with “old” combo that I so like! 🙂

  6. Hello, I’m a follower with the name evil_eva12.
my home decor style would be quite simple but on the dreamy side.. I like pale pinks, pastel colors and such. If I won this giveaway I’d definitely get as many pastel colored things as possible! Ha ha.

  7. since i can’t copy and paste I guess i’ll just elaborate..
it would be lovely to fill my room with cupcakes.. fake of course! wouldn’t that be so whimsical and girly? 🙂
anyway.. pinks and whites would describe how i would like to fill my room.

  8. i looked at the website and i’m loving:
Santa Barbara Comforter Set – it’s like basically PERFECT! I love the colors.

  9. my style is girly… quite girly. I love pinks and yellows and oranges and blues! But pastel only!
    FLORALS are also my love!

  10. and here’s ANOTHER entry. (i just really want to win this) 😉
my style is girly and simple. i love pinks, oranges, yellows and basically any pastel colors. i adore anything with florals – pillow covers, sheets, teatowels, clothing!

  11. i also like VINTAGE decor. i don’t know why but brass colored things and cameos and things like that really appeal to me! although, i’m not sure how i can have girly and pink with vintage styles…

  12. i think i’m running out of ways to reword my entries! oh no.

okay, i LOVE florals especially floral fabrics with tiny roses and green leaves on a pale pink or sky blue background. i would love that to be on my bed, definitely ! as for decoration, i don’t like to have TOO much on my walls, white paint and a few paintings will do. what i like though are those fairy lights people hang around during Christmas or just for decoration. i plan to buy some and hang it along the walls of my room!

  13. i like patterns like stripes and not to mention, florals, hahaha.
i think stripes suits anybody, really, but i’m not a big fan of large spots. small ones are okay but i still think stripes + floral = perfection.

  14. Just checked out the Nautica Bedding Collection! And, I love the Ocean Ridge Collection. I’m not sure how this would quite fit in with my decor…maybe a present for my sister-in-law??

  15. I just can’t get my style down to one thing! I also have an unhealthy obsession for all things nautical! How about that?! 😀

  16. Here’s something funny to chew on (well, it’s humorous to me)…

I’m pretty laid back in my style and I like beauty AND functionality in pretty much everything that I buy…but, I have a bit of a throw pillow issue…

You know…the pillows that are only for looking but not touching? I have a certain set of pillows that I throw on my couch but have to be removed before sitting down. Is it just me? Am I crazy? My husband seems to think it’s the most ridiculous thing ever!

But, you know…some throw pillows are just too pretty to lay your greasy head on! I’m sorry, I just can’t budge on this issue… 😀

  17. Okay, I think I’ve had an epiphany! I’m a “traditionalist” (as far as my home decor style goes)! I like antique furniture (mentioned above) or furniture with a classic feel and warm, rich colors. I like symmetry and aesthetics are just as important to me as functionality. I guess I just want it all!!

  18. I even have this ridiculous soft spot for collectibles and figurines. Ssshhh! This will be our little secret…

  19. The one place where my home decor style really takes a sharp turn from my traditional type theme is my bathroom!

I like bright colors and lots of light in the bathroom! It’s just a personal preference but I think it stems from the fact that I do my makeup in the bathroom and good light is always a must for that.

  20. What do you know? How could I forget about the kitchen?! I really, really like a tuscan theme for kitchens. Now, there’s nothing special or tuscan about my kitchen…but if I could have my dream kitchen, it would look like a little slice of Italy!

  21. The more and more I think about decorating, the more I realize how eclectic my style really is! I knew this was the word to describe my style from the very first post…but, just how eclectic I am only now realizing as I write my thoughts down!

  22. My brother and sister-in-law moved in with my husband and I about a month and a half ago. And, let me tell you what I don’t like about my sister-in-law’s style…she’s messy!

Laid back I am….but messy is what I’m not!! Somebody please tell her to pick her stuff up. Oh, and take the darn throw pillows off the couch before you sit it in!! 😀

No, really she’s a good house guest. But, our styles do clash a bit. Luckily, it’s MY house so I get the final say! She likes ALL things pink (and, I love pink too)…but, not everything has to be a pretty shade of pink!

  23. I love to decorate with lamps (and light), too! All different shapes and colors, styles, etc. I like to play with light in my house. You can get some pretty neat effects with different types of bulbs and lampshades. Fun!

  24. Unfortunately, I do have a few home decor saboteurs in my house. Now, my hubby’s a given…but, I’m talking about my cats! They really like to scratch my furniture and I’m really not the plastic couch cover kind of girl! I wish they would cut it out…I’ve got about 500 cat scratching posts all over my house…but do they use them? NO! And, let me tell you…it’s hard to make a cat scratching post look good in any house!

  25. You know what else I love to do?! I like to go “junking”…you know, like garage sales. Here, you can find some really cool pieces of furniture. I like to buy them and take them home and renovate them. I could spend my whole day outside sanding, priming, staining, and painting!

It’s such a blast! Often, all that’s needed is a little TLC and elbow grease…and the finished product can become a real treasure!

  26. My style is modern, simple, girly, pattern-y.
& i love the Charleston Grey collection but it might be just a BIT too grey for me 🙁
    I love the patter though!

  27. I also like to decorate with vases and fake flowers, adds a nice homey touch to the room! And don’t forget the modern table lamps!

  28. I’ve really been liking a black and white or red and white damask pattern lately! It reminds me of Paris for some reason…

  29. Okay, now for an example of my contemporary flair…

I have three giant plastic ice cream cone lamps…strawberry and vanilla flavor! They sound tacky, right? But, they are so adorable! Of course, my hubby hates them! 🙂

  30. Does Stained Couture like egyptian cotton sheets? I bought some a couple years ago and didn’t really like them. I really prefer a nice, crisp, cool sheet.

I think most people like the egyptian cotton because it’s so soft!

  31. And I can’t forget to tell you about how I like to decorate my walls! Colorful paint, of course! Every room in my house is a different color…from eggplant to tangerine! I love rich colors and my house definately reflects that!

We painted every room ourselves to keep costs down…and it was a blast!

  32. I like to decorate with area rugs too! Our floors are hard wood…so we actually need them. But, I like to keep them simple without a lot of busy patterns because I have so many other things going on in my house…knick-knacks, colorful paint, different fabric textures and patterns, etc.

  33. I also have this carnival glass vase that was my grandmother’s. I cherish it so much and the light really makes it sparkle. It really adds a pretty touch to my living room. I love pieces that have a personal history behind them! They mean so much more to me that way!

  34. Yes! The heat and humidity are killing us! And, carrying a few extra pounds around dosen’t help me out any either! Plus, I could use a nap! 🙂

  35. Okay, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my deep love for animal prints. Yes, I know… You don’t even have to say anything.

But, hey! A little animal print in moderation can look pretty cute! I’m especially fond od the leopard! Reeeooowww!

  36. And how could I forget the clocks! I love clocks of all different shapes and sizes! My mom passed down several clocks…a grandfather clock, grandmother clocks, and granddaughter clocks…the granddaughter/mother clocks are antique and have been in the family for many, many years.

The grandfather clock is the only clock that keep correct time though! 🙂

  37. You know what is really fun to decorate with? Design tiles! I have a few from squareheat.com and they are really cool. They are terra-cotta tiles with a hand printed design on them. Then they get a pretty, colorful lacquer over them. I hang them on my walls, lay them flat…you name it! Fun and pretty!

  38. I also have a weird obsession with spiders…

    Yes, spiders…

I hate spiders in real life…I mean, I hate them so bad and am so scared of them that I can’t even suck them up with my “Backyard Safari Turbo” bug sucker upper thingy that my brother and sister-in-law got me for my birthday this year!

Oddly enough though…I can’t get enough of spider decoration. I have a spider pinata, spider placemats, spider ceramic tiles, spider ceramic platter, a spider made of glass, etc. I think it reminds me of Halloween which happens to be my favorite holiday ever! This could explain my obsession…sort of…

  39. Does decorating with cat fur count? Because it’s on EVERYTHING that I own…no matter how hard I try to get rid of it…it always comes back!
