How I Relax During The Holidays

I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for the holidays to be OVAH! Of course, I love the holidays, because it usually comes with days off of work and gifts. Still, it can be draining and all I want to do is find and try all of the things to help me relax during the holidays.

Usually toward the end of the year, I feel like a snowball rolling down a hill. Everything is going fast and I’m just waiting for it to end. Thankfully, I know a few tricks and things to help me relax after a long day of work or whatnot. Interested? Well, keep reading and scrolling.

After dinner and before bed, there are a couple of things that do to help me relax after a long day. Thankfully, these same things can help you relax during the holidays as well.

I’m not really a bath girl. I mean they are great and all, but I love a good, hot shower any day. Before I get in the shower, I wash my face to remove my makeup. Personally, I don’t like washing my face in the shower, because it’s too hot. A few years ago, I read that you should actually wash your face with cool water – no hotter than lukewarm. So, after I double cleanse my skin to remove my makeup and clean my skin, I apply a face mask. Actually, I apply it while my shower is getting nice and steamy.

The steam in the shower helps your pores open up, which helps a face mask work better. The face mask I’ve been using a lot as of late is the Summer Friday R+R Face mask. This mask helps exfoliate and brighten skin, which is just what I need in the winter. I only love this mask when I put in on before taking a shower. When I apply it without steam, I don’t notice that much of a difference. However, it does smell like roses, which is one of my favorite scents.

After the shower, face mask removal and nightly skincare routien, I move on to body oil. I stan for a good body oil, because even the least expensive ones can make you feel so bougie. Currently, I’ve been using Bath & Body Work Eucalyptus Spearmint Body Oil from their Aromatherapy line. The smell of eucalyptus always makes me feel so calm and the scent is soft and clean. I massage an insane amount on my extremities while taking deep breaths – smells so good and relaxing.

Then, once I’m clean and dressed in my coziest of nightwear, I partake in a little CBD time. Once of the best things I did this year is introduce my mind, body, and love of relaxing to CBD. There are so many CBD products worth trying out there, but there are two that I use every night. The first one I use is a CBD balm from Hempfusion, which is has sunflower, jojoba, and peppermint oil with 45mg of CBD in each jar. It’s a topical balm that massage into my tired and sore areas, which are usually my legs and shoulder. It smells very minty, which makes it that more relaxing. Usually, within a couple of minutes, my body begins to feel soothed and relaxed.

The cherry on top of my CBD nightly sundae is a CBD sleep aid, which lulls me to sleep within 10 minutes. One more thing I thing I do before my head hits the coolest side of the pillow is to spray my pillows and linen with a pillow mist. I know – very extra. However, it easy way to end any difficult day.

If you have any ways you like to unwind and relax during the holidays or after a long day, share below!
