How I’m Mentally Preparing for Fall

After having such an intense summer, I’m so ready for fall. Actually, I’m excited for fall, because I’ve entered a new chapter of my life. Although, I’m excited, I also know that I will have some stressful moments. Mentally preparing for fall is the wave I’m currently on and it’s a must.

Keep reading to read what three things I’m doing to make sure I’m mentally and emotionally strong for fall.

One way I’m mentally preparing for fall is being more mindful if my eating. Although I was stressed most of the summer, I didn’t participate in “stress eating”. Luckily, I was able to make drastic cuts to my caloric intake and limit edible vices (i.e. sweets and dairy). Also, this fall, I’m going to introduce more physical activity to my life. Yes – I’m joining a gym this weekend, which is long overdue.

Another thing I’m doing for fall is making time to spend time with friends and family. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to spend much time with my friends this summer. Don’t get me wrong, I did text and talk with them regularly – just not in person. I just think it’s more engaging and beneficial to spend time with your loved ones. You get to have more enlightening conversations that can refresh your mind.

Finally, I’m focusing on the things in my life that I can change – ignoring the things I can’t. Recently, my boss asked me why I’m so easy-going and I instantly responded with that. I didn’t even think about it before I said it. It just gracefully and effortlessly flowed from my mouth and it felt true. Plus, when you focus on the things you have no control over, you’re basically focusing on negative energy. That doesn’t help anyone – be positive.

Are you mentally preparing for fall? If so, how?
