ITEM OF THE WEEK is a weekly series on Stained Couture that highlights a product we’re currently loving. This week: Revlon Kiss Exfoliating Lip Balm.
Although I’m a blogger and like to share products that I think you might enjoy, I can be skeptical when other people recommend products. On social media, especially, I can be a little skeptical when an “influencer” shares and recommend a product. Unfortunately, it can be hard to decipher if they really like it and/or they really like the money they got paid to share it. However, there are some bloggers and/or influencers that I really trust, because they are authentic and trustworthy.
If it wasn’t for a fellow blogger that I trust and following for sharing this product, I wouldn’t have thought to buy it. Not only did I buy it, but I fell so in love with it that it’s this week’s Item of the Week! Keep reading to see why.
For the past couple of weeks, Felicia of ThisThatBeauty has been sharing and raving about Revlon’s Kiss Exfoliating Lip Balm on her IG Stories. Now, I’ve tried Revlon’s Kiss lip balms in the past and they were pretty good at hydrating my lips. However, as a person with fuller lips that always needs exfoliation and hydration, this hybrid option spoke to me. So, after watching IG story starring this lip balm, I checked to see if my Walgreens had some on stock. After checking on the app, I noticed they had a few in stock. So, I grabbed my keys and headed straight to Walgreens and picked up a tube.
That night, before bed and after my skin care routine, I applied a layer to my clean and dry lips. Since it is an exfolitator, it has a gritty texture as you rub it on your lips. The “grit” is what will make you lips smooth. As you rub your lips together, the grit will melt and absorb into your lips. Listen, my lips instantly felt soft, supple, and smooth after one use.
Not to mention, the sugar mint scent is a cool sweet scent that’s perfect for the lips. I’ve become addicted to this lip balm and buy one every time I go to the store. I currently have 4 in waiting. I hope Revlon releases them in color options. An exfoliating lip balm that also makes your lips a soft, sheer hue of pink or berry? I’ll buy them all.
