IOTW: Gel Self-Tanner | STAINED COUTURE

Every year, during the rainy days of spring, I reach a point when I want to grace the world with my chunky legs. However, due to my legs hibernating in leggings all winter, my legs look pale and pasty. Therefore, I always have to break out a self-tanner to tie me over until the sun and my legs are out consistently. This year, I decided to try a new self-tanner that I didn’t have super high hope for, but I was wrong. Like, really wrong and I had to make this self-tanner my Item of the Week. Keep reading to find out why.

Usually, when it comes to self-tanners, I always lean toward one that gradually tan my skin. The gradual self-tanners appear more natural to me, which is how I like my tans to look. This is also the reasons I don’t like instant tanners, but L’oreal Sublime Bronze has proven me wrong.

What initially drew me to this this self-tanner is that it’s a gel formula, which helps it dry faster and less mess. Before you apply your self-tanner, you need to thoroughly clean and exfoliate your skin, which I do in the shower.

After your skin is clean and dry, apply it to your skin, as you would lotion. However, because some part of your body are already naturally darker, only use a touch on your elbows, knees, and ankles. Once you’re done applying the self-tanner, was your hands ASAP! Like I mentioned, gel tanners dry faster and tanned palms don’t sound cute.

The hardest part, to me, is the waiting game when waiting for your tanner to dry. You can’t put any clothes on until the tanner is completely dry, which tends to take 5 minutes. Since I was only tanning my legs, I just lounged in my shorter robe with my legs hanging over the bed while scrolling Instagram. Finally, a reason to lay around and mindlessly scrolling my feed for 10 minutes.

Apply this self-tanner everyday, until you reach your desired shade. Luckily, I only had to put it on once to reach  my desired shade by the next day. Also, the shade lasted for almost week, even with daily showering.

L’Oreal Sublime Bronze is available at most L’Oreal retailers, including Ulta, Target, and Wal-Mart.
