ITEM OF THE WEEK: Witch Hazel and Rosewater Toner

I think I’ve said it here before, but if not, here it is again: I love toners! No matter how many times I’ve tried to act like toners weren’t important or not use them as much, I always go running back. I feel like I’ve tried no less than 100 toners in my lifetime. That’s not an exaggerating.

Not all of them were, but there have been some gems. So much so, I feel like I can tell a good one for me in less than 2 uses. However, within the first use of Mario Badescu’s new Witch Hazel and Rosewater toner, it only took one use. Keep reading about my new favorite toner. Plus, it has rosewater, which is one of my favorite skincare ingredients.

Over the years, I’ve come to believe that every skincare collection needs a simple toner. Recently, I ran out of my go-to calming toner that had aloe vera liquid and witch hazel. A gentle toner can help soothe the skin after using strong face cleansers and/or after exfoliation.

This new toner from Mario Badescu has some of the same ingredients as the Bluff City Soap calming toner that I recently used up. However, this toner has a slight kick and more ingredients. Also, this toner, it is very clarifying and makes my skin feel super clean and refreshed. Like the Buff City Soap toner, this toner also contains aloe vera, which helps soothe and hydrate the skin.

I’ve been using this as my morning toner, because it’s calming, hydrating, and helps prepare my skin for serums and moisturizers. However, I have used this some nights as a “checks and balance” to make sure my skin is clean. Unfortunately, double-cleansing routines don’t always get everything. Le sigh. There’s also some antioxidant help thanks to the addition of rose oil. Yay, more roses!

In the end, I’m so happy to find a new gentle toner that clears, calms, and hydrates my skin. You can purchase this Witch Hazel and Rosewater toner at MarioBadescu.com, Ulta, and Sephora.

Have you tried a rosewater toner? If so, which one and did you love it?
