Using Multiple Face Washes: A Thesis

Last week, the BF got mad curious while looking in my medicine. The curiosity didn’t stem from seeing any questionable medications or the abundance of products perfectly crammed on each shelf. Instead, he was confused as to why I had so many different face washes since I only had “one face”. Of course, my first reaction was to roll my eyes while mumbling “men”, but I then followed it with a thorough breakdown of why I needed each one. In the end, we reached an understanding. Also, I found my speech for justifying my multiple face washes, in case anyone else wants to question my need having more face washes than I have excuses for avoiding the gym.

Using Multiple Face Washes | STAINED COUTURE

Before you proceed, please note these aren’t all my cleanser/face washes. Trust me when I say I have multiple face washes – I have multiple. However, these are just the ones that I’ve been reaching for the most over the past couple of months.

MULTIPLE FACE WASHES | Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser

My current go-to face wash that I use on most mornings is the Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleanser. What makes this cleanser my go-to is that it’s gentle foaming cleanser that has been helping keep summer heat-induced breakouts away. In the morning, it’s a nice way to say “wake-up, sleepyhead” to my skin without it feeling stripped afterwards. I also use this face wash at night if I didn’t wear any makeup that day.

MULTIPLE FACE WASHES | Mario Badescu Keratoplast Cream Soap

Another good morning cleanser that I enjoy is Mario Badescu Keratoplast Cream Soap. I initially bought this cleanser to help with some congestion in my skin with light exfoliation. Keratoplast is a gentle beta hydroxy acid that helps keep pores clear of build-up. This cleanser is really good for sensitive and dry skin, which is why I bought in the winter. Now that it’s been balls deep hot, I don’t reach for it as much, unless my skin looks a little congested. FYI – this is a creamy, suds\foam-free cleanser, which is amazing considering how much I love it.

MULTIPLE FACE WASHES | Garnier Micellar Foaming Cleanser

When I get home and know I’m not leaving for the rest of the day, there are 2 things I immediately take off; my bra and my makeup. My favorite way to accomplish the latter is with the Garnier Foaming Micellar Cleanser. Yes, I still love this stuff and I’m still on my first bottle, because 1-2 pumps is enough. This is usually my step 1 on a double-cleanse day.

MULTIPLE FACE WASHES | Enzyme Cleansing Gel

Another Mario Badescu that I fell in love with is the Enzyme Cleansing Gel, which I mainly picked up due to it being MB’s best-selling cleanser. It only took me 2 days of trying the travel size version to believe the hype. This cleanser is so good – on my dry or oily skin. It deep cleans, exfoliates, and makes my skin look like it’s naturally beaming.

I loved using this cleanser in the morning when my face felt a little oily once the temperatures started getting exhaustively high overnight. However, I preferred it more as my step 2 on double-cleanse day. You know when you get a manicure – after the nail tech has shaped and smooth out the ridges and breaks out that purple buffing file that leaves your nails looking naturally smooth and healthy? Well, that’s what my skin feels and looks like after using this cleanser; naturally smooth and healthy. I recently ran out, but I’m getting the regular size this time.

MULTIPLE FACE WASHES | Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser

If I would’ve written this post 3 months ago, this Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser wouldn’t have even been an honorable mention. Actually, I was on the verge of throwing this away, because it broke me out when I first tried it at the end of the last year. However, I decided to see if my oily, warm weather skin would appreciate it more than my dry winter skin. Answer: A Resounding Yes!

You would think I would’ve instantly known that this cleanser would break me out in the winter. This is a foam cleanser, which would cause my dry skin to dry out more. However, now I get why this is one of Kiehl’s best sellers. this face wash does a perfect job at removing oil, makeup, and other gook that settles on your skin throughout the day. I’ve been using in the morning when I need just a touch more foaming oomph than the Aveeno cleanser.

There you have it; my thesis for having multiple face washes.

Do you have multiple face washes that you rotate? If so, what’s your fav?
