Latest Skincare Purchases I’m Not Regretting

Spending almost a month sick took a huge toll on my daily life, including my skincare routine. While I was sick, I wore hardly any makeup and when I did I removed it with makeup wipes. I’m so ashamed. In the mornings, I would just wash my face with a gentle cleanser and put on moisturizer and sunscreen. I didn’t use any toners, serums, or hardly any under eye creams. Needless to say, my skin was not happy and eventually turned on me. So, once I was back to my normal self and the weather started getting a little cool, I’ve been treating myself to some new skincare products.

My skin is very particular about it’s needs once the temperatures start changing. Almost as soon as the first chilly morning happens, my skin gets drier and requests more hydrating and anti-aging products. Fall is almost here and need to figure out my fall skincare routine. So, for the most part, my latest skincare purchases have been all about the hydrating. Keep reading to see my recent pick ups and why.

My Ole Henriksen Aloe Vera cleanser was a God-send for my oily summer skin. However, my skin has been drier and lacks elasticity, which has been annoying. During a recent Ulta trip, I picked up a small bottle of Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular 2-in-1 cleanser. This cleanser deep cleans, removes make-up, and helps to tone the skin, as well. After using this cleanser for a couple of weeks, it has helped to smooth the texture of my skin. I went ahead and picked up the regular size, because I’m loving this cleanser.

Once of my favorite steps in my skincare routine is the toning step. I treat it like a check and balances system for my cleanser. My current toner of choice is Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid toner. I’ve yet to find a Mario Badescu toner that I didn’t love and this one is no different. This glycolic toner is good for dry and aging skin, which is right up my ally. Since this a little strong, I only use it at night and tone my skin with rose water spray in the morning.

I love serums almost as much as Oprah loves bread. Therefore, I found myself buying two different serums in one day. The first one is Burt’s Bees Renewal Intensive Firming serum. To be honest, “firming” is what lured it into my basket. I was a little apprehensive, but I did enjoy the cleanser from this same line. I’ve only been using it for a couple of weeks, but I think my skin likes it. Plus, it hasn’t broken me out.

The next serum I picked up was Dr. Jart Ceramidin Liquid, which is formulated for dry skin and fine lines/wrinkles. Luckily, wrinkles and fine lines has taken over my fat face, yet. I use this at night before my moisturizer to hydrate my skin overnight.

I needed a new moisturizer with SPF and decided to get another one from Neutroegna; Healthy Skin Firming Cream with SPF. You already know that I’m a fan of Neutrogena skincare products. I especially love their moisturizers and this has been serving it’s purpose and then some. Too soon to see if it’s helping with my elasticity issues, but so far so good.
