Office-Friendly Food I Stash At Work

One of the things that makes me feel super productive is when I bring my own lunch to work. Weird, I know, but it’s a huge benefit. Mainly, because it’s cheaper and healthier than going through one of the many drive-thru spots around my office building. However, there are plenty of times when I don’t bring my lunch, because of time constraints or empty fridge. Since I don’t like having to leave the office to go get something to eat, I found some office-friendly food that’s healthy and affordable.

Office-Friendly Food: Instant Oatmeal Packets

On those mornings when time is scarce, these little packets come in handy. The great thing about oatmeal is that it’s healthy and filling. However, if health is the main benefit for you, stay clear of the ones with added fruits and sugar. They might cause you to have a sugar crash mid-morning. So, I prefer to get the plain ones and add fresh fruit from office kitchen.

Office-Friendly Food: Larabar Bars

I have to admit that it took me a long time to jump on the energy bar train, because I didn’t think they would fill me up. However, once I realized that I was eating the wrong ones filled with sugar and chemical, my view changed. My go-to energy bars are by Larabars. I prefer Larabars, because they are made from 100% food and most contain 6 ingredients or less. Also, they are non-GMO, gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free. There are even a few soy-free options, as well.

Office-Friendly: Victoria Chef Pasta jars

A coupe of weeks ago, I had to use my lunch break to run an errand and caused me to not have enough time to grab lunch. I was so hungry that I was considering going to pick up a burger, but decided not to at the last minute. When me and my empty stomach got back to my desk, there was box waiting for me at my desk that had a jar of Victoria Chef pasta in it. I had never heard of it before, but it has been my BFF these past couple of weeks at work.

I had the jar of Penne Marinara that contained perfectly cooked pasta and slow-cooked marinara sauce. All I had to do was pour some in a bowl, microwave it for a minute or two and voila’ delicious restaurant-style pasta. Each jar contains about 3 servings, which I was able to keep in the office fridge and stretch into 4 servings. My COO asked me about and was fascinated by the concept that she ordered a couple of jars online. FYI, she loved them, too!
