No 2023 New Year Resolution For Me

Let me preface this by saying that I’ve never been a “New Year, New Me” girlie. However, I do tend to start each new year with a new and mostly attainable goal. However, this year, I’ve decided to not partake in any 2023 new year resolution.

LUST-HAVE LIST: January 2023

LUST-HAVE LIST: January 2023

LUST-HAVE LIST: January 2023 | STAINED COUTURE

Happy New Year! How has 2023 been treating you so far? Hopefully it has started off good for you. So far, so good for me! After this week, I will be back in the swing of things. Having 2 short work weeks/ long weekends throw me off. Still, it’s been good and full of optimism, which is good.

I had a great holiday season, which actually included a semi-white Christmas. I can’t recall the last time there was snow on the ground for Christmas in my city. The actual snow day was horrible, but the results were pretty. I guess you can I broke even.

Recently, I realized that my January Lust-Have List is mostly things I should’ve asked to get for Christmas, but didn’t. What an ultimate face in palm moment?! Still, here is the list of things that are currently at the top of my monthly wishlist.

LUST-HAVE LIST: January 2023

  • Down Alternative Mattress Pad – I’m about one more year away from buying a new mattress. So, in the mean time, I think this mattress pad will make the bed feel a little more comfy and cozy.
  • Crop Straight Leg Grey Denim – I’m on the hunt for a pair of cropped straight leg pair of denim like this pair. A perfect all year neutral pair of jeans.
  • Bluetooth Projector – Every January, there is one thing I regret not asking for Christmas. This is year, I regret not asking for a projector, which will be perfect for bedroom.
  • Black Quitled Top Handle Purse – I’m loving the srtuctured, but edgy look to this purse. Looks expensive, but it costs under $90.
  • Liquid Blush in Love – I have yet to try anything from Rare Beauty, but I’ve heard and seen nothing but great results with their liquid blush. The color ‘Love’ looks liek the perfect flush of pink for me.

EMPTIES: November 2022

EMPTIES: November 2022

EMPTIES: November 2022 | STAINED COUTURE

Is this a EMPTIES post for the products I used up in November? Yes. Is it almost the end of December and almost a whole new year? Yes. Your point? Keep reading to see what products I used up almost 2 months ago.

As you can see, I only used up 3 items and one is a repeat. First up, let’s talk about the Jozi Curls Leave-In conditioner. This was the second product that I ever used from JOZI -the first was their Curl Refresher spray. I will say that I enjoyed the leave-in conditioner better than the detangling. The JOZI leave-in conditioner has a little weight to it, but great slip to the hair. So much so that I wore diluted some and wore it as a moisturizer for my natural curly hair. So, I did get my money worth and I may buy it again.

The next item I used up was PanOxyl Acne Foaming Face Wash, which I’ve used before. However, I got a poorly sealed bottle this time and it burst after the third use. Since it was a new bottle, I obviously didn’t apply much power to squeeze the product out. Plus, I was totally disappointed by the customer service – or lack or customer service. As you can see, I never got a replacement bottle and not sure if the product was still good after having so much contact to air. So, I’m a little disheartened and undecided if or when I would buy this again.

Finally, I used up the sample of the Tatcha moisturizer that came with my free Sephora birthday gift. Just like the cleanser with this set, I loved the moisturizer. The moisturizer was lightweight and nicely absorbed into the skin. Also, this made my skin look and feel soft, which is nice for the colder months. Yes, I will be buying the full-size soon.

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE 2022: Self-Care

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE 2022: Self-Care

STAINED COUTURE HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDES 2022

I’m having a hard time believing that Christmas is only 10 days away. Although I’ve scratched off most of the top gifts I needed to get this year, I still feel overwhelmed that I may be forgetting someone. In cases like, this I try to buy a couple of self-care gifts. I think of self-care gifts as items that help people relax and feel good – mentally and physically. Therefore, I tend to buy a few of these for those people that slipped my mind while trying to play Santa Clause for my loved ones.

So, here are lovely gift options for the self-care queen or king on your list. Also, perfect for anyone that you think deserves a relaxing gift.

  • Dry Brush – You can find a dry brush for an affordable price, but this body brush from Tata Harper would make a nice luxe gift for the self-care lover on your list that prioritizes bath time. The benefits of a dry brush are great for your health, but the process is so relaxing. A dry helps to exfoliae your skin and leave it nice and smooth.
  • Body Serum – This Necessaire body serum contains hyaluronic acid and niacinamides, which the skin loves. A body serum that would jazz up even the simplest of body oils and moisturizers.
  • Hand Cream Set – One thing L’Occitane knows is hand creams, because they are so hydrating and luxurious. This set of 3 of their limited holiday collection creams is perfect for anyone, actually.
  • Comfy Slippers – My BFF bought me a pair of these slippers for my birthday, which I loved. I loved them so much that I bought my sister a pair for her birthday. These slippers keep your feet warm and the sturdy sole make them okay to wear outside.
  • Bath & Body Set – Can’t narrow down which beauty and bath item to get someone? This gift set is perfect, because it has a little of everything – from bath bombs to jade rollers.
  • Chill Pill – I feel like everyone knows a few people that could use some help chilling out from stress. The Chill Pill is a device that helps to manage stress from various aspects of life.

LINK-END ROUND-UP: December 9, 2022

LINK-END ROUND-UP: December 9, 2022

LINK-END ROUND-UP: December 09, 2022 | STAINED COUTURE

Hey, ya’ll! I didn’t realize that it’s a been a couple of weeks since I posted a Link-End Round-Up. My bad, friend. Last week, I had a dentist appointment had me in pain for over a week now. I had one tooth filled and another one pulled, but those weren’t the causes of the pain. The dentist attempted to pull one of my wisdom teeth, but it started to break apart as he pulled. Apparently, I have good bone density and that tooth would not budge. So, now I have to find a dental surgeon to get the rest of the tooth out. Thankfully, with the help of 800mg of Ibuprophen, the pain has finally let up.

Now that that has passed, it’s time to move to the stress of holiday shopping. Although I have made a few purchases, I still have a few more that I need to find a buy. I have a feeling that the last few items on my list will be easy to find and for a discount. Unless it’s a hot item or limited release, I tend to wait until the last couple of weeks before Christmas to wrap up my shopping. The deals are way better, because it’s the last final puch for retailers to move inventory. Doing this helps them to also make room to start stocking Spring inventory, FYI.

Honestly, this is the last weekend I will have this year that I can rest and relax before the holiday rush. I finally watched my first Christmas movie and will start binging more this weekend to really push me over the edge of the holiday spirit. The calm before the storm, but I’m already planning to start going on daily walks to combat the upcoming stress. I’ve been wanting to start going on daily walks for the past few weeks, but I ran across an article that helps people to start walking more or again. I shared the article below, of course.

I hope that you have a great weekend and try to be mindful of your holiday spending. Remember; not all deals are deals. Please check out the articles in this week’s Link-End Round-Up.
