Lust-Have List: MARCH 2013

LUSTHAVELISTmarch2013

Last month, I posted this list on time and it was uber bright. This month? Umm, let’s just say that life is getting cray, cray, but in a good way this time! Anyway, although spring is creeping up, I’m really into clean and muted colors, tones, and prints and this reflects heavily in this month’s Lust-Have List. Have at it!

  1. Rebecca Minkoff Sunglasses Case, $75 – I need a sunglasses case, because if I scratch one more pair of my cheap sunnies while looking for something in my gigantic bag du jour, then it’s going to get real real! Okay? I’m loving the cutesy-ness of this one by Rebecca Minkoff. Chic, too.
  2. Liebeskind “June’ Hobo, $245 – Everyone needs a large, tan bag for spring and I’m smitten with this one by Liebeskind. It’s designed to be worn as either a hobo or large satchel. Both ways are great! Plus, the details are clean and there’s plenty of compartment room, including to HUGE pocket on the outside. Sold.
  3. ASOS Curve Shirt in Stripe, $59.34 – Beetlejuice? Maybe. Fabulously casual chic and perfect for the warmer months of spring? YES!!
  4. Jeffrey Campbell Hough Mesh Sandals, $140 – Just fabulous. However, I wish I could find this in a nude, too!
  5. Shourouk Bakara Moonlight Swarovski Crystal Bracelet, $360 – Just a nice punch of sparkle for any lackluster outfit.

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Well Worn Collection

CTAS_Well_Worn_LifeStyle_17724

Anyone who knows me know that I love Converse Chuck Taylors! At some in my life, I used to collect them in every color, print, and style that I could. Now a days, my pockets and other financial responsibilities have caused me tone it down. However, that doesn’t stop me from buying a new pair of ice white Chuck Taylors every spring. Honestly. They are just the uber spring and sneaker to me!

Every year, when I buy a new pair, I practically rock them every day. I don’t do that just because they are cute and comfy, but to help them get to that well worn look that takes them from cute to chic. Chucks are the only shoes I know that can chicer when they are that dingy grey white and have that well-worn look and Converse knows it, too.

Therefore, this spring, Converse presents their Chuck Taylor All Star Well Worn Collection featuring a premium washed canvas that has been extensively treated to produce the perfect broken-in look. The distressed effect contributes comfort, history and character, delivering an easygoing summer feel. When it comes to a pair of Chuck Taylor All Stars, the wear-and-tear is a beautiful celebration of experiences that have left their mark. Check out the collection after the jump.

Wannabe Hippy

puffballskirts

Although I’m a “curvy” chica, I don’t have much hips, or much hips as I would like to have. So, I have to find ways to give myself hips or some curvature in my waist and a cinched belt can only do so much before people catch on. So, when I saw these Puff Ball Skirts on Supre.com, I feel like these would be perfect give the illusion of fuller hips or even slim down hips, especially when paired with a fitted top. So fab and they don’t add too much volume. Plus, they are cotton, which means they are perfect for all year round!

Beauty Scoped…February 2013

Beauty_wants_feb2013

This month actually dragged for me and I don’t know why considering its the shortest month of the year. Eh. However, this month, I really became borderline obsessed with beauty and skin care products. Here are few beauty-related items that I was really obsessed with this month.

  1. Lancome ‘Blush In Love – Peche Joue-Joue’ blush, $49 – Spring is almost here and the need for a new perfectly peach blush has arrived, too. This blush from Lancome’ is designed to compliment all skintones with just the right amount of light peach and deep coral. It’s beautiful in person.
  2. Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream, $15 – My cuticles have really been hating me recently. They are dry and crack, no matter how much or many moisturizing I introduce to them, with the exception of this hand cream by Caudalie. Not only does it nourish your hands and nails, but it also acts as an anti-aging cream for your hands. Did you know that your hands can be a tell-tale sign of your age? Well, it is, so think about that!
  3. MAKE UP FOR EVER Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation, $36 – I’m on the hunt for a new foundation. Well, I’ve actually been on this hunt for the past few months, but I’ve been coming up empty handed with bottles and tubes of foundations that don’t give me the coverage I desire and/or agree with my crazy combo skin. Hopefully, this new powder foundation by MUFE will be the one. I just ordered this and can’t to try it! You can apply it wet or dry and it has buildable coverage, which always comes in handy for me and my bi-polar, semi-acne probe skin.
  4. Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat, $30 – When it comes to my nails in the spring and summer, I usually rock bright pinks and the occasional neon shades or orange or yellow. However, there are times when I just want to sport a clean and natural nail, but that can be hard when all those fun colors I mentioned before leaves behind yellow tinted nails. This pink gel coat seems like something I need to add to my nail polishes and treatments collection. The gel creates a sheer pink coating that not only strengthens and hardens your natural nails, but also gives your nails a barrier while bringing out the natural shades of pink and white in your own nails. I need to get this!
  5. Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Foundation, $27 – Did I mention that I’m looking for a new foundation? Well, I’ve used this foundation in the past and from what I remember, it was pretty great. It helps prevent acne while giving you a soft and natural look and glow. I might need to pick this up again.
  6. Pond’s Rejuveness Anti-wrinkle Cream, $11.99 – This is another product that I’ve used. Actually, I’m using it now and it’s been amazing to me and my skin. I bought the small travel size for $1 at Walmart and I use it day and night and still have plenty left. It gives  my skin just the right amount of moisture with leaving a greasy film or interferes with my make-up application. This is probably the best drugstore anti-aging moisturizer I’ve ever tried and I will definitely be buying the regular size as soon as I run out of the the travel size.
